50 Enhancements across WDW for the 50th

I get you are pessimistic, and I also get why. OF all the things listed, will they all happen. I agree no.
Where you and I disagree is the fact that SOME changes will happen.

Like it or not, believe it or not, there seems to be some significant movement that the US parks need love, and that they are now not focused as much outside the US. Lets be honest, I can't count how many threads are here and other sites dogging Disney for not up-keeping the US parks, and adding to them.

Guess what, I think we have finally hit that mark.

Of the changes we now know, they show me that they are back to willing to invest in the US....
DHS total basic restage - adding SWE and TSL(although, there is some discussion going on now, that says in 5-10 years this will go away for more SWL expansion...), Mickey ride in GMR
Epcot - UoE new ride(GotG), France add - Rat is almost a sure thing, BatB still outside shot, one new WS pavillion, plussing to: SSE, Seas, Land, Innovations, TestTrack and spine from FW to WS
AK - Pandora, RoL
MK - Restaging TL - subtract of Stitch, new last scene to CoP, Painting and revamping over all, Speedway???? , also significant rumor of add to Frontierland at some point(not guaranteed for 50th).
Gondola transportation
New Star Wars resort
New adds to resorts

Now, do I think all of this will get done. Probably not. Of all that listed above, that isn't all that is rumored to happen. So I think we can expect some significant movement for the next 4-5 years, I for one am superexcited.

But.....
There will always be those things that were to be built that aren't. Martin talks of making a list once this is all over with to compare what was to be, vs. what was.

Fully agree with this sentiment. Should they have started at least some of this earlier? yeah, they did let WDW lag behind others as far as updates with really only New Fantasy Land happening since the opening of Animal Kingdom .... but to act like they are still not doing much I think is just kidding oneself

.

This is the core issue and what they have to prove me wrong about. Because 2000-2012 was basically the most embarassing period in WDW history by a factor of 20...

They must do it...it's not up to me. I like new stuff as much as anyone...but the customers are failing themselves and Disney is no longer unwilling to exploit the loyalty.

So let's see. And "Martin", "spirit", and Jim hill are always looking for attention. They live it...no doubt...but caution is appropriate in all things said.

They have to make up for the lost time because on the whole the three of four parks have lost time due to lag.

And new fantasyland? Please...seriously? It's a minor repurposing In the end...the kind of thing that should be a couple years worth of normal construction.

But I do see the fog lifting...it's got to continue though...not another 8 years of price increases and food and wine events...they're not worth it.

Epcot is the brutal truth...it's at a net loss since 2001.
That's 16 years...an eternity in park timeline...

These two sure, but not Martin. Martin is a good guy and makes amazing tribute videos to Disney attractions.

That would indicate a bit of lack of objectivity, no?

I'm not discounting him as a person or even an info source...but with all this web traffic a grain of salt is definitely required.

We are all here to discuss rumors, I think many people don't see the need for every rumor to be shot down. Yes, they are rumors and not definite but that doesn't mean they won't happen for sure. They could evolve, change, not happen, or happen, those are the options.

And most "rumors" around here don't get a peep from me...most by far...

The ones that talk about large capex for the WDW clientele should be thoroughly scrutinized...and ones about "anniversaries" are automatically suspect because they have moved actively away from that for 10 years.

It's just the nuts and bolts of this. The thing about me is that I don't want them to screw anybody with increases as they go cheap on investment. Not for one second...I hope I'm wrong 100 out of 100 times...but the history is the history and it has nothing to do with me.

I suspect a lot of little things, the little details that use to be taken for granted, but know are few and far between.
-New scenes for the train ride, very low $ investment.
-Front gate overhaul, make it a litter easier to get in.
-Tomorrowland bypass(shortcut from main gate to tomorrow land), make it a bit more disney. Allow it to be open for more than just end of night exits.
-Roof top lounge/restaurant above tomorrowland terrace or the laugh floor(epic fireworks desert party revenue op). Could use more sit down service locations.
-A fancy cabana land, permanent structure, well themed. Bottom floor services, upstairs the cabana units. Maybe bottom floor Stitch meet and greet.
-Stitch replacement.
-Tomorrowland speedway re-imagined. Re-using the space, and the shortcut behind it to the barnstormer. An extreme kiddy ride on par with barnstormer, space mountain light, and a tomorrowland themed dark ride(wreck it ralph themed).
-radio control boats in a pond, didn't they have that once? Easy and cheap. Perhaps near the jungle cruise.
-expand the wizards card game, putting portals in a few new locations.
-Random animatronic or other guest interactions triggered by magic bands in various locations in and out of ride lines.
-Frontier land shooting gallery, rehabbed and maybe new content.
-A new multi-use theater, sort of the same idea as the one near rockin' roller coaster. Magic kingdom special ticket event central.
-New boats for Pirates.
-New content on Tom Sawyer Island. Something magic band related.
-20,000 leagues under the sea returns as a simulator ride like star tours.
-Bay lake tower 2, with special side entrance access.
-Not truly magic kingdom, but will be spun as related. Gondola from the Wilderness DVC to bay lake tower 2, which now conveniently has a new side entrance.

Too much for a monday morning?

Yikes. Can't say I'm surprised. :worried:

Realize that is what my seasoned resort hunch is saying...but it fits the what seems to be going on.

I can see all moderates being $300 in 5 years or less and the "values" being pushed to $200 easily. That would also compress the chart to make more people buy deluxes which they overpriced awhile ago and demand has been much lower than most have noticed (also leading to DVC conversion)....

It's the standard playbook now: charge more for the same product.

They are angling to eliminate the value and propel the moderates into the $300 range...as it appears to be playing out.
By the time you add the 12.5% tax, French Quarter and Riverside room rates are almost at $300/night and for some dates are over the $300/night threshold.

Ok, now this was on a Disney Facebook page, thought they did reference spirit ....

ANyone see a rumor about Everest going down for major refurb ? Or that Rivers of Light was going to be replaced in a few years ?

Jim Hill is the one saying RoL will be changed out in a few years (2020).

Spirit has said an Everest refurb is possible for the 50 enhancements but really up in the air still.
