50 Enhancements across WDW for the 50th

2. Aside from that...to be fair...the problem with "the 50th" is that those anniversaries have become almost completely marginalized under the iger regime in WDW. It is a different clientele than Disneyland. The only thing that determines significant changes in Orlando travel is the greater economy...these events havent made a significant impact in years. 1996 and 2000 were a big deal...we were there...since the end of Eisner they have been marginalized. The only thing that gets any real attention are hard ticket events and the Epcot food booths. I mean...that is the truth. It's just a different mindset. In California with a local crowd those drive gate...no longer in Orlando.

So while they "should" care To make a big deal for 2021...if they're advance analysis doesn't see a huge profit upside...it will be very limited. Why? Because it's just about your money...which leads us back to #1

I am not saying I don't understand the reasons to be negative or why that tone has become the norm but I just don't see the need for it to be so heavy handed as I've seen on the boards

For really the first time really in the history of the Walt Disney company...the value provided for the price has become discarded and they are on a short term/slash and burn agenda for increases.

The only way for that to be controlled is for the consumers to stiffen up and become more selective/critical...that is it. The board won't do it...the stock market won't do it...it has to be a function of the consumer response.

You can debate tact, heavy handed ness, or throw around "magic"...that's your right...but whether it's today of 5 years from now, I have no doubt that the economics of this will be made clear.

I don't disagree. But you all may be missing the big picture. Not included in this list by @rteetz is some key adds that may or may not be totalled into the group:
Rat in France - is lead due to timeline and cost - per Martin and MagicFeather - 2020 is the date the Bobs want this in, and BatB won't hit that timeline
New country in WS - MagicFeather says one new world could it by 50th, Lentesta says Spain is the add
Old rumor had Stitch replacement and Fix or removal of Speedway in MK as being done by 50th as well.
For that matter SWL may also be considered part of this, but that is doubtful since it will be open by 2020.

Do you really want to eliminate practicality from these discussions? tough to get traction when a poster feet aren't required to be on the ground...the thread should be "what are my dreams for things?"

We can discuss practicality but we don't need to discuss negativity on the rumors. We all know you think they will do nothing more than cupcakes and t shirts for the 50th. Let's stick to discussing these possibilities though.

I just cracked the code!! They'll have limited edition t-shirts with pictures of cupcakes! 50 different styles.

You know this is just recycling of the network of weboards "insider" rumors...nothing more...at this point?

I hope they keep building...they owe us that after the lost decade...but isn't it more productive to wait till the fire than report on the smoke?

The success of the 60th at Disneyland might be a strong push to do the same for Disney World. I am also hopeful that Disney has learned to not prematurely announce things to prevent 6 or 7 year waits.

I'm more inclined to believe you than new countries in the showcase...a 30 year hoax at this point.

Especially Spain...which is still in financial straights and Disney has Never been about going it alone.

Correct...but you could sell it as "the Walt Disney world resort" because they built a compound...and sell it that way.

I'm sorry if I was too harsh...that isn't the intent...

But you cannot detach disneys desire to turn WDW into a pure profit machine In any addition discussion...it's impossible.

Believe it or not (firsthand)...it is different now. Not with espn closing up quickly...it is about money first and foremost...

...and the way to beat that is for the consumer to become less willing/trusting.
