SEPARATED AT BIRTH...

Can you see the resemblance?????

I'm sure Matt got to try out all his new wardrobe today. He was texting me until 4 airmen asked him to go sledding. Of course the 4 airmen were all ladies.

At 6 degrees I'm sure he scarified himself to keep the ladies warm.

Hi All!

Busy weekend in our household. Maggie's Christmas recital was Friday night. She danced in one number, a combined class number with all of the tap classes. They were toy soldiers, to see and hear about 50-60 tap dancers on stage was fun. Her instructor did a great job with choreographing different abilities seamlessly into one number. Saturday night, about 30-40 of the toy soldiers danced/marched in the local Christmas parade. Add in spending yesterday and this morning watching the High School girls at a lacrosse tournament, Maggie had a busy weekend.

Guess it's been quite awhile since I've watched a parade. Probably the last time I've seen a parade was about 14 years ago when we lived in the Chicago suburbs. I was rather saddened to see people remain seated when the flag was paraded past us...:sad2: Did I miss the memo that it's ok to remain seated?

We staked out a good spot right on the edge of the judges stand to watch the performances. Unfortunately, parents and friends would crowd and stand in front of us to get the perfect shot, so we missed all of the performances because they would insist on standing all around the performers and in the street.

okay not sure WHAT I JUST DID !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well I see it went tooo SIBER LAND !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

okay IT WAS COLD IN WDW and EVEN COOOLDER AT HOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad I'm not the only one! I reminded Christopher of this before the parade started Saturday night... even he was really mad that other people seem to have forgotten...

Monica and Karen -- Good for you and Christopher. No, it is not polite to sit when the flag goes by.

Hi folks....Did everyone have a fabulous weekend.
We did not dive, we decorated the tree....that was Friday, .... and Saturday.... and Sunday..... and yes, today.

We did watch a little TV.

A small, football game.

Haven't been to a (non-Disney) parade here in Florida, but back in Ohio I was getting rather irritated at them. Seems like people came to expect candy being thrown from floats. So instead of honoring servicemen who gave their life for our country, Memorial Day became a day to have kids run into the street and fight over a freakin' tootsie roll.

It just disgusted me. No one cared (or rather very few cared) about the reason behind the parade. They just wanted free candy. :sad2:

Just got back from picking up Jay's Christmas gift to himself....his first-ever new truck. It's pretty cool. And very BIG.

How about a picture of the boy and his new toy?

Matt is starting the car shopping process. It looks like he will pick something up here during Christmas since the selection is a lot better.

We then may drive it back which could end up being a guy trip. I've got some ideas on things to do between FL and ND and diving may be involved. :cool1:

Good Morning All!

John's in Chicago this week and staying over until Sunday to spend time with his family. I get to deal with the transportation logistics of two kids and all of their activities which happen to be at the same time in opposite directions.

I've resisted long enough...... Dwight & I used to live in Grand Forks! Lived there less than one year (October to June 198?) and I don't think I ever left my house from November to May!!!! (OK, that IS an exaggeration, plus I'm a big baby when it comes to cold weather!) We did meet lots of people who lived/worked on the Base and really loved it. :)

The only advice I have for the car is make sure Matt gets a block heater installed. Yes, he will need to plug his car in at night! :cold:

Where do you dive between FL and ND?? :confused3

I don't have a picture of Jay standing next to the truck yet...although the salesman took one of both of us. Not sure why. Might find our picture on the post office wall someday.

But here's one of him checking under the hood. Taken with my phone.
