It's actually been pretty chilly here, too...and windy. The chill isn't so bad, but I hate the wind.
All the leaves on the trees at the creek finally are falling. I could go stand under them and pretend it's snow. No...I would just jinx myself.

Karen...maybe with little ones in the White House again, there WILL be Mickey!:santa:

it's snowing! Big flakes, not sticking though

I forgot all about y'all missing so much school because of Ike. At least the snow didn't stick so the kids wouldn't have to miss school.

It's still raining here. The ditches actually had standing water in them this morning. We do need the rain! It's supposed to get cold tonight with a possibilities of flurries ... I'm sure we'll get something like Monica got.

My parents are flying in today. Hope they don't have a bumpy ride. Emily is dancing in The Nutcracker this weekend so they came to see her.

There's still a bit of snow on the ground and on th bushes - it's all relative, I'm still used to the Midwest definition of "Stick" when it comes to snow. Ice and wrecks are all over the place this morning and I have to take Maggie to school early this morning. She's outside making a last ditch snowman this morning and signing "I'm dreaming of a White Christmas" It's supposed to warm up to 50 today.

The dog would rather be inside where it's warm - she's smart!!!

Break a Leg, Emily!!! Don't forget pictures!!!

Be careful out there!

Will try to take pictures. There is NO flash photography or videoing allowed. The kids are not allowed to take the costumes home. It's all a racket! There was the opportunity to have photos taken by a prof. photographer but I just couldn't justify the cost.

Anyone have Wii Raving Rabbids??? I bought it last night (on the recommendation of the guy at ToysRUs) but when I got home, I saw that it has an E 10+ rating. Just wondering how bad it really is?

Ang

We don't have Raving Rabbids, but played it at Thanksgiving with the cousins (all in their 20s) and had a good time - cartoonish in violence and humor, throwing plungers, ect. - I think the 10+ rating may be more for the "bathroom" humor than anything, appealing to the pre-teen boys - but, didn't think it was too bad - but, I'm on the opposite end of the age spectrum with kids.

If can you can find "Carnival Games" it's a good game - all of the Midway fair games, the entire spectrum of ages had fun playing it and you can play a group of players Plus, you have to do all of the physical movements with the Wii remote. We bought ours at a Game Stop.

I understand! When Maggie was in the Nutcracker it was the same rule because they were studio owned costumes. John usually volunteered as photographer for Maggie's former dance studio at recitals, because he has a good camera, and can capture the shots without flash, ect. My bonus, I got good pictures of Maggie.

She switched studios this year, and the studio already had a photographer - so, I had to warn the grandparents, no close-ups at the Christmas recital. Last minute, the photographer backed out and the Director sent a frantic e-mail asking for help. :woohoo: I have a close up - which wasn't an easy feat with 70+ tapping soldiers on stage who all look the same.

I got the Carnival Games one for the DS so I don't think I want it for the Wii too?

I'm ok with the bathroom humor. Is it any worse that what's in a Shrek-type movie??? Seems like a lot of PG movies have that potty-type humor.

Angie....good luck (break a leg!) to Emily. I would love to see that....stinks about the videos. Maybe you'll still be able to get some good shots w/o the flash.

Diana....how are things with Alicia? Has she heard anything from Disney?

I'll have to take a picture of the truck with a real camera, in the sunlight. It's more of a gray, with blue in it.

Nothing makes it across the creek when it's really running....but no, this one won't do as well as the '59 always has. Guess we're getting old and we'll just have to stay put.

Hard to get good workers these days, isn't it gaRry?? :rotfl:

Blue seems to be the color of choice for the DisBoards now.

Houses,
Trucks,
Blue Lips from cold and snow.

I hate to say, I need even more P & PD for Mom... I just got a call from my sister that she has had another stroke, and is on her way to the hospital... she seems to have lost ALL of her eyesight... I am waiting to hear more from them before I finalize plans to go home. We are having our big annual Christmas party Saturday night, so if I go, I'll try to fly out Sunday morning... in a holding pattern for now, but losing my grip...

No, I guess only one boy got a callback out of the whole school. I thought she did really well at the audition though!

The Nutcracker years were fun! I don't have any pictures either, Kevin didn't have his d300 in those days.

So sorry. P&PD coming your way.

Let us know if you need any help with the party.

Prayers and Pixie Dust for you and your family Kiki!

I'm so sorry! Lots of P & PD.
Her sight might still come back slowly, Jay's dad's did.
Will keep you and her in my thoughts.
