Good morning! Haven't been on this thread for awhile - sooo busy with work and Courtney's dance competitions, and cleaning, and bill paying, etc etc etc, so excuse me if this has been addressed before. How many of you are flying Delta? I am totally freaking out. I think that today I am going to get tix on Jet blue, and if Delta doesn't strike, then we will cx the Jet blue tix, get a travel voucher and use them later on in the year for a "pre-paid trip to disney (we already have 8 days left on my dd and my pass - would just have to get Courtney a pass). I was just wondering what you all are doing? Sitting tight or panicking like me :confused3

We went through that with America West a few years ago. Had a trip planned, and they didn't settle their strike until the night before we left! Whew.
Knock on wood, I hope I didn't just jinx myself, we're on America West this time, too.
I think that's a good idea that you came up with. I've done that with Southwest tickets before, too.....at least they let you cancel, change, etc and re-use the tix later.

A T.O.P. with LOVETHATMOUSE! Gotta Love That!

I looked into Southwest Airlines - the only problem is the airport is in Islip - about 45 minutes away and leaves at 6:50 am! Jet Blue is out of lga or jfk and is only 15-20 minutes away and leaves around 7:00-7:30. I know JB will let you reuse tix - does SW charge for it too?

We're flying the 'other' bankrupt airline, Northwest, but I haven't heard anything about them going on strike. We're sticking with them, but don't know what I'd do in your situation. What would be your options if they did strike? Would they put you on another carrier? Did you book throught a TA or on your own? Does Delta have anything on their website you could check?

I wouldn't worry about it. We've left ours, plus other things in the room with never a problem.

My guess, is that there is limited access to the rooms and if anything is missing there would be hell to pay! :furious:

I do not know - I hear there are all sorts of kids, tearing apart your room, looking for green sock!!!!!! :teeth:

That sounds like a good plan. We do not have to fly but I would be a nervous wreck if I thought the strike could prevent our trip. We were on pins and needles with the November cruise as we did not know if we would have electric after the Hurricane and we could not leave Mother alone...if that happened, and that was an "act of God".....You need to weigh the options, and purchasing now, vs. waiting, when the tickets may all be gone...

Good Luck.

I'm hemming and hawing whether or not to bring it. Just the thought of lugging this around and then worrying about it when we leave the room makes me think. Any suggestions?

Mine is staying at home...... :p

I have heard that story. Seems like those "interlopers" had a key......... :scared1:

Hi All - Nick is here so I am busy! And the weather is beautiful (thank you Ohiominnie). Rather than burst post:

Sandi - YUCK about the sliver in DH

Maria - Nick will be wearing shorts at every opportunity, dinner included.

Stacey - I have been trying on summer clothes for the cruise and gotten very depressed.

We don't have Jet Blue here. I wish we did. So Southwest is our equivalent, I guess. No, they don't charge for changes, and I've had to make lots of changes at times. They don't have assigned seating, and I know a lot of people complain about that, but to me, it's a fair trade for not having to pay big bucks to make simple changes.

I wore shorts this weekend....in public! :scared1: They're a little snug, and not the least bit attractive....but I refuse to go buy a bigger size. I was even sleeveless. No wonder those poor cowboys kept falling off their horses and the bulls. Not a pretty sight.

We have delta tickets for this trip.
We just talked about it last week.
Our plan is to hope they don't go on strike :lmao:

And if they do, we'll drive. Stinks to think about b/c we MUCH prefer flying. But we WILL get down there one way or another!
If we get down there and then they strike, we'll rent a car to get back.

We were originally going to drive, but decided with gas prices, and a couple of nights in hotels, and meals, and having to drive back after being pampered all week, it was worth it to fly. But if we had to, we'd hop in the mini-van today (well, not today, but in 6 weeks). We're flying out of Indy, which is a 3 hour drive for us. No Jet Blue or Southwest near here.

Hi all - checking in at lunch.

Sandy - sorry to hear about Larry's accident. Sending pixiedust: that it gets fixed quickly.

We're flying down for this trip (we'll drive down in October). We've always had a good experience with American so that's who we are flying.

Sorry about the stress over Delta. That happened to me several years ago, maybe United. It all worked out for me, hope the same for you. Sue

Hi, all! I'm stuck at home with pinkeye today. No fun at all. My DS had it a few weeks ago, and he was so good during his treatment with the drops. After getting my first two doses today, I think I should have given him a reward for holding so still. I am normally quite pain tolerant,(3 kids, no drugs) but when it comes to the eyes...whoo. My DH has a case, too. We are kidding each other 'cause we know he is a big baby. I am having to hold his eyes open for him and put the drops in.

Eeewww....no fun at all! You don't have to keep your eye open for the drops, though. Just lay the dropper/bottle next to your nose at the corner of the eye. Drop one drop and then blink. Much easier than "seeing" it coming!

Thanks for the advice; maybe the dose later tonight won't be as bad! I kinda felt like a needle was aiming at me when I could see the end of the bottle.
