Happy Monday!

Back to work today after a very busy but fun weekend. We got our new washer & dryer, got to see family and got to see some DIS friends. What could be better?

We always had the 'mouse' who came to get the tooth out the slipper under the bed, my sister would not go to sleep as she didn't want the mouse in her room so Dad had to put it under his bed!!!! :lmao:

That's a cute way to do it! Although the thought of a mouse would probably have scared me too as a kid. :rotfl:

Help! Is anyone going to WDW any time soon? Even one of the hotels...??

I need a postcard with Mickey, or the castle...or anything. My friend wants to "mail" it to her 4 yr old son, from "Mickey"....with Mickey telling him he's looking forward to their visit in May.

You wouldn't have to mail it to Jonathan, you could just mail it in an envelope to me....please...anyone?? I would, of course, pay for it.

We'll be there next Thursday- Sunday after our cruise. We'll be leaving on Saturday for Orlando.

Jim - you will not be able to find a laptop that will last 4-5 hours of use. Most of the laptops max out at 3 hours. You can by an adapter so that they can power it in the car, which would give you additional time. There are also accessory battery packs that are the same footrprint as the laptop that sit underneath. The only issue with that is the added weight. Best option is to by an adapter - I recommend www.igo.com as they have adapters that will then power all of your other toys. Yes - I do recommend one of the Apple laptops - but you already knew that. You can look at www.notebookreview.com for more information on the different laptops.

Hi everyone, I am going to see the middle school this morning and then going to work, made luch for the kids, did a load of laundry and booked a car for our Alaska cruise for Skagway, it's amazing how much can get done without everyone hanging around!!!

Happy Monday morning, everyone. Hope your week is a good one. DH had to go to the 'doc in the box' this weekend. He was starting to dismantle the barn using a hammer and chisel. A metal sliver from the chisel got embedded in his arm. They could see it on the x-ray, but couldn't get it out. He's supposed to get an appointent with a surgeon today! He's also going to call our family doctor for a 'second opinion' before going to a surgeon. The claims agent gave us a check yesterday to cover our storm damage. Now all we have to do is find a contractor to do the work (yeah, good luck with that).

DS put in a load of laundry this morning too :thumbsup2 .

I did our online check-in last night. Talk about a site being slow, it took about 45 minutes just to fill in a form and wait and fill in another form and wait, etc.

Yes it is really slow.

We also signed up for the Jeep tour on Coz. I would have preferred a nice beach break but was outvoted 2-1. We didn't want to take a change on Chanaakab(?) not knowing what shape it's in.

How old is DS??? My kids need some training!!!
He's 11, and it's part of his paying us back for having to buy a new crossing guard sign for the school. He had to strip beds, wash sheet and make all the beds last night. I figure that he owes me about 3 more loads of laundry. He mowed the yard yesterday, but he has too much fun doing that (big Simplicity tractor), so it won't count towards his 'debt'.

A TOP with Julia, housework, and mowing the yard!

Good 'morning all!

Gotta get moving....pick up the mail and little Mowana :)

Everyone must have had a busy weekend, it has been very quiet here.

Are you all starting to pack?? ;)

That is my quest for the day. That and cleaning bathrooms. I've started to "collect" stuff but not formally pack. Are you?

I had all of our suitcases laid out on the spare bed and had started to 'collect' stuff, but darned if DD from KY isn't coming home for a visit this week. I had to move everything off of the bed and will have to start all over again next Monday! DS cleaned bathrooms yesterday. Although he had it easy as we only have one bathroom at the moment, our 1/2 bath only has the toilet, no sink or floor to clean..

GEEK QUESTION:

I need some help from our Geek friends. I'm looking for a lap top for Sharon and Lisa now that they go to Orlando everyday.

One of the big issues is battery life. Any suggestions on a lap top that will give 4-5 hours of battery usage? They won't be able to plug in while driving or at the gym so battery life is important.

Suggestions?
We too, have had good luck with the Dell products. This is a quote from a review of the Inspiron 6000. Sound like it would met your needs.

You can see more on the Dell Inspiron 6000's wide screen than on most other 15.4-inch displays thanks to its WUXGA resolution of 1920 by 1200 pixels. In fact, you can work with higher-resolution photographs, more spreadsheet columns, and more tiled documents simultaneously on the Inspiron 6000 than you can on some 17-inch wide screens. (The Inspiron 6000 is also available with a 1280-by-800-pixel WXGA screen or a 1680-by-1050-pixel WSXGA+ screen for $150 less or $50 less, respectively.)

This 6000 has a lot more going for it than just its extra-high-resolution screen. We didn't test the 6000's standard six-cell battery; but we did test the nine-cell battery (a $99 option), and it lasted an impressive 5 hours and 7 minutes on one charge, making the 6000 an excellent candidate for the road--if you don't mind its 7.5-pound weight (sans power adapter). An extra-fancy external power gauge helps you keep track of when you'll need to recharge.

DH is off to work, DS is off to school. It's time for me to watch a movie that I got from the library on Friday. It's 'The Constant Gardener'. By the time it's over it should be warm enough outside that I can finish planting my peonies and clemetis.

I am on my Dell Inspiron 6000 right now. In fact, that's MY computer in this house. I love it. It's fast, fun, and has more things on it than I could use. I got the Media Center package, and don't know how to fully use it. You will love this laptop. Good luck.
