Ladypoo - welcome back to the boards.

Pam - glad you had a good time at WDW - but for the dreaded s.flu.

O/M - oh, no - bad news for KT at the Christmas season, but then I trust the new tests and procedures will help. And kids are so resilient it seems....This is one of my greatest fears, losing eyesight....Mother has glaucoma and can control it with the drops, thankfully. Thus far, I have been spared....However, I do need my second computer screening to tie down my baseline.....

Kevin - thanks for the sharkie pic....

I had a great lunch yesterday business and talk of diving - we can hope on board the next time he takes the boat to the Bahamas -- or fly there and meet him to dive - that's even better!!!

Today we may catch "Harry" before it leaves the theatres. They have scaled down the showings to daytime only.

Happy Weds. - time to feed the cats.

Oh my gosh - prayers for those in the west and Texas that are being affected by the wild fires. I just saw the news video!!!!!

Happy Wednesday to all!

OHMinnie, sorry to hear about KT's eyes. But, it's a good thing it was caught early.

Pam, sorry to hear about the stomach flu ... NO FUN! Hope it's not a long-lasting bug and everyone feels better soon.

Ladypoo, good to hear from you again.

Ang

Trying not to look up too much stuff on the internet b/c seems like you always find the worst of the worst (that's b/c the ppl who had good outcomes are getting on with their life!)

So true... I think WebMD has created a whole new generation of cyber-hypochondriacs... its like the Guinness Book for illnesses, diseases, and conditions, yet people seem to take it as the norm. Lets hear it for yet another way to spread unnecessary panic!!!

Seriously, though... its good that you took the kids early. My mother was just hounding me this morning at breakfast to go for bloodwork, as my dad was diagnosed with diabetes this year... yeah, yeah, yeah... I'll get there.

Wasn't there an ER episode where Carter was diagnosing himself??? :rotfl:

Pam,

Glad you enjoyed your trip in spite of the misfortunes. Hope everyone is feeling better! Belated response to your Cozumel/Dolphin Swim question - May still seems a looonnnggg time in the future and I'm sure they are working as quickly as possible to rebuild Cozumel. Because, I think, we're the first itinerary for Disney scheduled back into Cozumel, I'd recommend checking the reviews periodically over at Cruise Critic...

HAPPY :teeth: "29th" :teeth: BIRTHDAY :teeth: OHIOMINNIE !!!

And a Karen & Karen birthday TOP!! :goodvibes

24 season 4 vent- 8 hours into the day... no major giveaways - but, it's in white anyway...

I know it's just a show - but-come on....

Their employee screening process is lousy for a governmental high security agency...Every season there's been a mole...

Lack of teamwork abounds - it's amazing how season after season, Jack can just go off on his own-no back-up...Then again - it's also amazing how lousy the supposed 'marksmen' and snipers really are....

getting tired of the mole and renegade scenarios...

carry on...

Mee too --- Enjoy!!!!

Are you one of those kids that was always cheated with gifts - coming right after Christmas...???Weel, if so, MAKE UP FOR IT NOW - book cruises......

Another tongue-in-cheek- "vent" -

Why oh why does every home repair project involve extra trips to Home Depot? And then what starts as project A turn into - "Project A+B"

And does it fall under the same rule as the preparing for a dinner party rule? - As in - Can't host a dinner party or gathering without multiple trips to the grocery store...the one where you make several trips back to the grocery store because you've forgotten an ingredient or decide to add something else to the menu.

John has the week off - so, he's working on some minor repairs around the house. There was a leak around Mike's window and the floorboards have rotted so, he pulled up the carpeting to replace the floorboard...That project itself requires the purchase of table saw in addition to the supplies...Project A...Then, since the carpeting was pulled up - decided to incremetally add wood laminate upstairs sooner than planned starting with Mike's room- Project B - and another trip - Since the entire room is cleaned out - install closet organizer...another trip - Project C...repaint closet before installing organizer-another trip didn't buy enough white paint...another trip. Project D. Trim can't be reinstalled - new trim plus paint to repaint trim...another trip...

Mike's room is divided in between Maggie's room, the hallway and our room...and John's parents arrive on Tuesday...I'm glad I'm going to work!!! :crazy2:

Just completed the DCL survey from the November trip --- future cruise ports included:

7 night Alaska *******
7 night Mediterranian ******
7 night Bahamas (nope - unless you guys are going) - there was no spot for that.

4 night Mexican Riveria out of California **** (perhaps that way I will also go to DL)
3 night Mexivan R out of Cal. (nope)

I think I remembered the entries correctly.

I think that should be a question... - "If you've answered "no" to any of the above - if the Double Scoop group were to sail - would you change your mind?..."

Yikes!!! :earseek:

Christmas tree catches fire at Disneyland hotel
Associated Press

ANAHEIM, Calif. - A 35-foot Christmas tree caught fire in the lobby of the Disneyland Grand Californian Hotel early Wednesday but nobody suffered serious injuries, a fire official said.

The hotel's sprinkler system kept the 3 a.m. blaze in check and firefighters were able to quickly put it out, said Maria Sabol, a spokeswoman for the Anaheim Fire Department.

The 745-room hotel in the center of the Disneyland Resort was at full capacity with about 2,300 guests, said Rob Doughty, the resort's vice president of communications. They were evacuated to three locations in and around the park, and hotel officials hoped to get them back into their rooms by 7 a.m. Pacific Time, he said.

Guest Lee Crice of Phoenix told KTLA-TV that he saw the top six feet of the tree were ablaze as he fled through the hotel lobby after being awakened by the fire alarm. Television footage showed firefighters spraying water on the artificial tree and gray smoke wafting through the cavernous lobby.

About 18 firefighters responded to the alarm, Sabol said. The cause of the fire is under investigation, she said.

Two guests were treated at the scene for minor injuries and released, Doughty said. One complained of a strained back and the other of stress symptoms from the evacuation, he said.

We did the 7 day Mexican Riv. Cruise this summer..........It was a great cruise, but the first day and the last day at sea are COLD....and we went in July! We also didn't do any "water type" excursions, since the warmest the water ever got was 68 in Cabo!!!! Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!

(hey..............quotes thing-y won't work for me....or icons.)

Thanks all for the birthday wishes!!! And for the love and support re: KT's eyes.

I'm cool with everything right now....I am not panicking. No use. What is, is. Nothing I can do to change that. Will get informed (by the opthalmologist, not by the net) and will do the course of action required. Good to know I got lots of virtual hugs though. I think that really helped calm me. :) Thanks!
