Congrats Sandi and Dancind :cool1: :goodvibes I can't believe we are on page 1001!!! Way cool as the kids would say. Diana thanks for the recap. I wonder what the dates are for those milestones? How long does it take us to post 1000 posts?

Construction update: Kitchen cabinets begin to be installed today. Kitchen appliances are being delivered today. I get to caress my new french door refrigerator(see, it's the little things in life). Picked up kitchen lights today. As you can see, it's been a very busy day for me and I haven't even had lunch yet. The appliances should be here between 1-6pm. Yeah, right. Closer to 6:00, right? I will try to post an updated picture of the house. Hubby is coming along with the siding. He's amazing, (if I do say so myself). Electrician is coming Friday to hook up all those new circuits I have(old kitchen had 1 circuit...new kitchen..11). Central Air guy is coming today to check and see which kind of vents he needs to put up. Of course, the weather in NY is cool now. I don't care, that A/C is going on. We could wear Polartec around the house....:rotfl2: .

Taking the kids to the Yankee game tonight. They play Tampa Bay who has kicked our butts this year. I do love Lou Pinella though. Let's see how much more I can cram into this day.

Gotta go and eat something before all hell breaks loose.

TTFN,
Maria

So, what is clapboard? Someone please enlighten me.

Angie

I would like you to believe 2 pieces of wood you bang together, hopefully with a certain man's head between!!!!!!!!!

Actually I am getting new siding on my home and clapboard is a style of vinyl. Since Kevin is our resident Handsome HandyMan his opinions and suggestions are always appreciated and considered.

Clapboards, board used for the exterior finish of a wood-framed building and attached horizontally to the wood studs. The word, in its original and strict use, refers to a product of New England; boards of similar type made elsewhere are termed siding. Clapboards are particularly characteristic of the United States, having been steadily used since the earliest years of the colonial settlements. Each clapboard overlaps the one below it, leaving a few inches exposed to the weather. White pine is considered the best wood for clapboards; cedar, cypress, and spruce are also used.

Actually, I prefer a lower maintenance material, but clapboard has been used for decades and provides a more traditional look!!

Jeez, Sue! Can't a guy make a joke? :rotfl2:

I'm glad you are getting the vinyl version of the style!! Going with my "Low maintenance" manta!! Very Nice!! You'll be happy with your new look.
What color??

If I go with alcoa - sand, monogram - harbor blue, or a light grey. I am still getting estimates so I haven't made any decisions. Checking the contractors with the BBB. I have had T111 stained red for 23 years so any change will be BIG for me.

(I was hoping you would do the job while you're in town).

Well, I could come LOOK at it.

But then again, all my tools will be back home...... :rolleyes1

Thanks for the clarification. We just call it siding down here. Our house has Hardiplank on it. Gotta love the low maintenance stuff. Although it is time to have it repainted again.

Back from the ped with the girls. Emily has a touch of bronchitis and Ashley has an ear infection. Both are now on Zithromax.

I'm thinking that I need get myself to the dr. I've got whatever Emily has and it's not getting better and don't think I can stand another night of hacking all night long. Tonight is curriculum night at school. DH will go while I stay home with the girls. He should be home a little after 7:00 so maybe I can get myself to one of those dr's offices that stays open late and on weekends.
