By the way....I did it. I bought my own anniversary present. (Our anniversary is Saturday).
I went to see our local Verizon guy (known him forever) and I bought a Treo. Now if I can just learn how to use it. I figured out how to make calls and take pictures.....that's it so far.
Such a cool new toy!

I've been watching the Treo so keep us posted on how it goes.

YESTERAY'S DRIVE WAS SO BAD, I WILL NOT EVEN BLAME IT ON THE "JEEP".

WHAT A MESS.......SOUTH OF THE LAKE - FLOODED ROADS, 40 MPH CREEP - GEEZ....AND NOW ANOTHER STORM IS BREWING......

UCK...

BUT, :sunny: GOOD MORNING CRUISERS :sunny:

Not to be a downer, but after snorkeling there our first cruise, I wasn't overly impressed. I guess, after diving and being down right in front of the sea life on some much better reefs, those in CC just didn't cut muster for me. :confused3

I would rather sit on the beach and chit chat, sip umbrella adorned drinks and have some fun on the adult beach........

WE WILL BE SNORELING -- BUT NOT SO MUCH THAT WE CANNOT SIP THOSE DRINKS

We've not been impressed with the snorkeling at CC. I'm going to give it the old college try, and go for the Seahorse Snorkel this time....since we have two days there, I can do that, and sit on the beach and do nothing! ::yes::

Been trying to study up on Costa Maya. There is some great diving, by boat...and supposedly some good snorkeling from shore. Some have said that if we go in to Mahajual (sp?) we can plant ourselves on the beach there, and swim out just a little ways to a nice reef for snorkeling...and it's free! Others have said that the snorkeling isn't that great, but they don't mention swimming out to the reef.
The other alternative is to take a boat out to the reef to snorkel. I'm sure DCL will offer this as an excursion, but it can also be done (cheaper) right at the port. It sounds like the area is small enough that there wouldn't be any worry about missing the ship.

WE CANCELLED SEAHORSE SNORKEL FOR NOVEMBER - THOUGHT WE COULD HAVE OUR OWN TOUR BOAT FOR DOUBLE SCOOP IF THERE IS ENOUGH INTEREST???

:flower: Good morning cruisers! :flower:

Happy Wednesday!

Not much going on here. Finally caught up on laundry. Need to finish cleaning up the laundry room as that is where we store the plants over the winter and we need to bring them in soon.

Yeah, I'm also not a huge lime green fan. I'm wondering if we can somehow make luggage tags to go on them....with a Home Depot Mickey head instead of our address.

OR....I know I can get Mickey head punches in the scrapbook section...maybe we can "mickey-fy" a red/black bag that way.

???????

If we can come up with something like that, I'm willing to look into making the tags.

I still like the idea of the red/black bag with gold stitching (for those of us that want to personalize.)

OHMinnie, I have a pack of do-it-yourself luggage tags. For a while I was making tags on the computer for kid's b-day presents ... great for putting on their book bags, dance bags, etc. I'd be willing to help or donate to the cause.

Seems like we have a lot of anniversaries in Oct. Bruce & I will be celebrating our 8th on the 17th. We'll probably be celebrating this weekend since I'll still be in the hospital on the 17th.

No, because he's one of those people who buys whatever he wants for himself, even if its 2 weeks before Christmas. I ended up buying him a few little things.

Usually, on our 5-year milestone anniversaries, we go to the Pocono Mountains in PA, but it didn't work out that way this year.

Speaking of travel, Scoopie's trip to the Big Easy has been officially cancelled. No news yet on where our convention is being moved to, but we are thinking it will probably be Atlanta.

When's the conference? If you have the time, maybe I'll be up for a mini-meet. Although, actually going in to ATL is a rarity for me!

I hate to hear that N.O. is losing out on revenue. Got a "disturbing" (not sure that's the right word) email this morning from my best friend ... said she feels like she's aged many years in the past few weeks and that she's ready to wake up from a bad dream. I just want to give her a big hug! I wish that she had the time to come for a brief visit.

Cool!! I know Mike has his eye on one but doesn't want to give up direct connect. He's waiting for the two to get together and figure something out. :)

Well, there was a couple in Ohio recently who were keeping their kids in cages. That might work ;)
The sad thing is, he would find it 'fun'... we have an enormous crate for Gretchen that we rarely use (like when showing the house, etc), and Christopher thinks nothing of getting in there with his matchbox cars and rescue heroes.

Wow, do you have a great memory. I pitty the people in your house. :rotfl:
Ask Ray about my memory... it makes him crazy... I can tell you what I wore to school on the first day of Kindergarten back in 1972, yet don't ask me where I put my car keys 5 minutes ago. I have a truly photographic memory... I can read something out of a textbook, then pick the book up two years later and tell you where on the page something was... but maybe I should take a picture of my car keys...

OK, OK, it wasn't the jeep this time... I only hit about 10 miles worth of rain on my schlep out near OIA yesterday... let me rephrase that... it wasn't rain, it was the precursor to Noah's commission to build an ark. Now this morning... THAT was a fun ride into work... row, row, row your boat... oh wait... its not Friday karaoke yet... they're predicting 3 -6 inches of rain today.

Thank you. Now if others....;)
See above... you're off the hook on this one.

We aren't sure if it will be the same dates that we were scheduled for in N.O... waiting to find out. In terms of losing revenue, I am sure that we will end up there next year if at all possible, or if its ready by August, they will commit to holding our summer meetings there... they want to give N.O. the business, however, the City of N.O. informed us... quoting from the letter..."The N.O. Convention and Visitors Bureau is informing us that the City will not be able to deliver necessary services to stage our meeting. All city-wide conventions have been cancelled until after April 1, 2006".

Let us know how it goes... I need one (or something similar) for work, and am trying to decide what I want to get. We got rid of Nextel last year... its easier than people think to get rid of direct connect... d/c is usually more headache and disturbance than it's worth (and I was one who originally didn't want to give it up, either!)

It does look interesting, and it's not much larger than the phone I have now.... :rolleyes1

We tend not to do big gifts for each other, but I always try to get something for her. That way she won't think I forgot.

Besides, it gives me an excuse to say "Honey, for my anniversary gift I want this new toy. Do you want me to just go get it for you"? :rotfl:

Works every time.

So, that's how it works... :rotfl2: I wonder why it took me this long to catch on... ;) He did mention something about an iPod Nano...

Stay away from the apple juice. That's actually what we give kids who are constipated.
White grape juice is better. ;)

No milk.
No butter on the toast.
Bananas.
Applesauce. :)

Otherwise known as the B.R.A.T diet! :teeth:
