I mean, honestly, what was the big stink? So the ppl had their kids in cages. They ended up getting arrested and the kids were "rescued." From the pictures in the paper, the kids looked perfectly content in their cage. Kinda like they made it into a little "den."

Here's the photo that ran on the front page of the Dispatch:

You know, I thought that same thing too. But without a frontal view wasn't sure!!

Karen, How dare you???? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I.. really don't see much of a difference other than the top one seems to be from top deck or nearly, and zoomed out, the lower is much lower onboard and further back on the ship and zooms in on the gear rental hut. And from just having been there, the plant life in the areas we have no acces to are still scraggly and brown, they only water the ones near the public areas, they have to make their own water there from ocean water, it's not exactly unlimited, can only produce so much a day.

Nah the reef's still there, just with all the disturbed weather they've had down there lately it has been very cloudy. And the waves/undertow on the adult beach which is open to the ocean was very strong, much stronger and they might have had to close it. We did about 2 whole minutes of snorkeling before giving up as you couldn't see your hand in front of your face. And we bring our own gear and everything too. :(

Not to be a downer, but after snorkeling there our first cruise, I wasn't overly impressed. I guess, after diving and being down right in front of the sea life on some much better reefs, those in CC just didn't cut muster for me. :confused3

I would rather sit on the beach and chit chat, sip umbrella adorned drinks and have some fun on the adult beach........

A question coming from Mr. Google? radiomarguriataville.com or what ever it's spelled. You can also go to marguriataville and "listen now". It's one of the few internet radio stations that does not time out. I run it pretty much 24 7
Sorry to let you down.

I found it!! The wonders of the internet!!

psst; Don't say 24 too loud, you'll get OM started again.......:rotfl2:

And I'm inclined to agree with you. Just compared to some of the pictures you and Jim have shown, CC is almost less than nothing. But for someone where scuba is not part of their life, cc is a fun relaxing place to get just a glimmer of a peek at some real sea life.

Maybe you two could figure out someplace us non scuba people could enjoy some looking too on this little adventure we're going on.

Actually, I was cracking up about posting that, so I had to show Mike the sequence of posts leading up to that picture....

After showing him, he said "that was back when we LOVED Maggie."

To which I replied..."that was before we even HAD Maggie!!!" :rotfl2:

Now the crate has been loaned to friends who have two very lovable lab puppies living in it.

Agreed! It is a nice, relaxing place.

There is an idea!! I know that Cozumel has some great snorkeling locations. Don't know much about Costa Maya, except what I've read on the reports and sites around the area.

If there is some interest, it could be done!!

Wow! I cant believe you dont notice a difference in the tree line (is that what it is called? LOL) I can totally see it, but maybe thats because I was there both times, or maybe I'm just nuts! LOL Does anyone else see a difference?

How strange. We were there after yall and the adult beach was VERY calm..no waves (so to speak) or undertow at all..??

We've not been impressed with the snorkeling at CC. I'm going to give it the old college try, and go for the Seahorse Snorkel this time....since we have two days there, I can do that, and sit on the beach and do nothing! ::yes::

Been trying to study up on Costa Maya. There is some great diving, by boat...and supposedly some good snorkeling from shore. Some have said that if we go in to Mahajual (sp?) we can plant ourselves on the beach there, and swim out just a little ways to a nice reef for snorkeling...and it's free! Others have said that the snorkeling isn't that great, but they don't mention swimming out to the reef.
The other alternative is to take a boat out to the reef to snorkel. I'm sure DCL will offer this as an excursion, but it can also be done (cheaper) right at the port. It sounds like the area is small enough that there wouldn't be any worry about missing the ship.

I thought last Christmas at CC was wonderful! Nice cool breeze...we could walk all over and not be roasting (like usual)....we'd had enough days of being in the water that it didn't bother us to not be able to swim. Had a great time wandering from spot to spot.

By the way....I did it. I bought my own anniversary present. (Our anniversary is Saturday).
I went to see our local Verizon guy (known him forever) and I bought a Treo. Now if I can just learn how to use it. I figured out how to make calls and take pictures.....that's it so far.
Such a cool new toy!
