Oh, they want someone who will gamble, right?

Nope....it isn't their casino on Royal Caribbean...I don't think they would care what we did!

Hey....maybe that's an omen....shared a T.O.P. with Diana and another (less fun) cruise line.....

Opps I did this one twice: Can anyone tell me who to delete it?Hey justmestace,

Yea, tennis runs in my husbands family also so I know what you mean.LOL.

Yes and thankyou we love the name also and it is a little hard for Christian but he can write his name which is good for a 5 year old. LOL

How about your family_ any kids? and what ages?

This is more the guys' expertise, but I think if you click "Edit" you can go in and erase your 2nd post either by backspacing, or there may be an erase option.

My kids all have at least one "family" name. My oldest, Megan Louise, was given her middle name because it was both of her grandma's middle names....Jordan Emily was the first Stenson child born...and it was tradition to name the first born son with the same initials JES....but we had had several miscarriages, and weren't sure we'd have another baby, let alone a boy, so she has the JES intials. And....Jordan was my Grandma's maiden name and I've always loved it.
Then, Jared came along. I wanted to name him Connor. But NOOOOOOO....I was told I still had to abide by the JES first-born son thing. SO he is Jared Evan. Megan is 23, Jordan 15, and Jared just turned 12.

I have a tech question I was hoping someone could answer for me? We use our laptop as our portable DVD player. The only trouble is, we have an Expedition and the kids in the back seat can hardly hear. When we had a different car, we had a tape player and we actually had a mini dvd player than that we could hook into the tape deck and use the speakers in the car....does anyone know if there is a way to do the same with a laptop, somehow use the speakers in the car?

Yep. Go to any decent electronics store you're looking for a thing called a casette adaptor, looks like a tape, but has a cord with a headphone plug on it to plug into the audio out headphone jack on the computer.

Er. wait. You might not have a tape deck, right, just a cd player?

They make one that works with FM instead, that should work fine. It plugs into the cigarette/accessory plug on the car, has a headphone plug and you tune the radio to what you set it to.

Wow....see, I knew there was a reason we keep these men around!

Kids today have a good grasp on the electronics world. Heck, it's their world isn't?

Did you get her to set the clock on the VCR too?? :rotfl2:

only kidding!!

See....that's where I don't need help. My mother used to call me from FL to walk her through changing the clocks on everything. I love electronics, just the computer when I'm on uncharted ground do I get wobbly. All the electronics are left to me in my house. My DH asks me to fix the remote, digital camera, movie camera, etc. That's OK cause I can't cut the grass with that big mower that he has either. That makes us even.

TTFN,
Maria

Anytime that anyone in my entire family has a techincal problem, they will ask me first. I really don't mind in the least. :3dglasses

Hello everyone! We're back from a long weekend in Louisiana. We did have a nice trip after all. I'm glad to be back to less humidity, although it wasn't that hot there - unusual for July 4th weekend.

Anyone want to provide cliff notes from the long weekend? There's no way I can go back & catch up since Thurs. afternoon.

Hope everyone had a great weekend ... and a safe one too!

Matt grabbed post #10000 from a hotel lobby in Costa Rica.

Matt and Jim are enjoying some male bonding time in Costa Rica. Zip lining, repelling down waterfalls, fun stuff like that. :)

Sharon is looking for a girls bonding activity for her and little Lisa.

Stacey's evil twin LISA showed up. LISA is who gets blamed whenever Stacey acts up a bit. :) Amanda borrowed LISA when she left her brother's house early over the weekend. We have all agreed that LISA is the evil one while Lisa is little gymnest (don't want to give little Lisa a complex).

Stacey was having computer problems showing her pictures on disk.

Sue got her pictures on CD from the Alaskan cruise but can't find pictures of Scoopie - her niece is going to look at the pictures downloaded again.

Karen, Mike, KT and Nick are off to camp. Karen is going to teach scrapbooking to ALL the girls in camp - not just her cabin. She is asking for prayers.

Virigl is having computer connection problems so hasn't been on as much.

Disney Fans is fairly new and joining in the discussions.

Scoopie is with BWVPam and going to Carlsbad's Caverns.

Everyone else is pretty much posting per the norm.

Hope I didn't leave anything out. If I did I'm sure someone else will fill in.

Thanks Mary!

Stacey, I guess the fires have left you for now?

I hope Scoopie doesn't get snatched up by any bats at Carlsbad Caverns!

Sounds like Matt & Jim are having a blast. Sharon, hope you & Lisa can do some bonding too.

chip&dale& fun....I know the cruise is for real, the hotel had sent me all the information a long time ago, but I tossed it out. I didn't think I would qualify for it. The qualifying is based on the amount of casino play. I still don't see how I could have qualified. We go to two & three different hotels when we go, not just always NY NY. Doesn't matter, I seriously doubt anyone will cancel...and even if they did, I won't go alone, and Jay can't go....it's from August 14th to the 21st.
My oldest DD has to work, as does everyone else I know (including me, but I could work around it;) ).......still, it would be nice.....

Ahh hah - thanks for the update. That may explain why, when they say, it is too good to be true, it ususally is. So they hook you into a free cruise and you either pay your money to the ship or to the Casino....hum, save for WDW say I....While we did not sign on to the day trip to Atlantis, that would have been my limit...

Also, I am not one that plays casino's and am so glad there is not a casino on board the Magic. I can take a fun trip to Vegas but the constant ding-ding-ding is not my idea of fun.....So, I shall now hang up with grace on the telemarketers.... :wave2:

Weekend Update :sunny:

I hope everyone enjoyed their 4th. DH and I enjoyed the Coronado Springs Resort at WDW - we expecially liked the Maya Grill, having never tried it before. Saturday night we were treated to Shrimp and Corn Chowder, a very light soup, and then soft shelled crab with roasted veg. Yummy. (A bit disappointed in the yellow rice, oh well, who needs rice with crab anyway?). I tried the Banfi Chaniti - unusual - it was a rice flavor on the tongue, but seemed to disappear when you swallowed. All in all a good nosh as they say.

The pool and Tiki bar are both still standing and fun....The resort itself is very relaxing. I did not mind the walk that some on other boards complained about. As we were only there for the weekend, arrived friday and left sunday, we did not have scores of luggage to cart.

There was a karate championship and lots of little kids were wandering around - many with great trophies - larger than they were. Such fun!

We had to drive home Sunday, but the neighborhood was ablaze with fireworks Sunday night and Monday!

Later.

Sounds like a fun weekend. We did Coronado Springs a couple of years ago and liked it. Love the pool - it was too cold to swim when we were there but looked like lots of fun. Our goal is to stay at each Disney resort at least once. Almost there!

We have the same goal. So far we have managed:
AllStar Sports, AllStar Music
Pop Century
Port Orleans (before French Quarter)
Riverside (missed Dixie Landings)
Carribean
Coronodo Springs
Ft. Wilderness (where we started, many decades ago)
Wilderness Lodge (Anniversary)
Animal Kingdom Lodge
Boardwalk (Mother's 80th B-Day Surprise)
Contemporary (4th of July Fireworks Spectacular)

Swan or Dolphin (work related - cannot remember which one).

Can never seem to find good rates for Polynesian - Have never even looked at rates for Grand Floridian. And then there is Old Key West, Sarotogo Springs, missing any?

So fellow cruisers - which one is your favorite and why.

I'd have to select Wilderness Lodge because it is so spectacular with its attention to detail, from the pull-out sign to the lobby and replicated Native American art. It helps to have first visited most of the Grand Lodges of the West. (I am missing Yellowstone. DH has been there).

:wave2:

So far we have stayed at the following:

Grand Floridian (honeymoon)
Poly
Contemporary
Beach Club
Yacht Club
Beach Club Villas
Wilderness Lodge
Villas of Wilderness Lodge
All Star Movies (I'm counting all the All Stars together for this)
Caribbean Beach
Coronado Springs
Boardwalk
Old Key West

Still to do:

Port Orleans
Pop
Ft. Wilderness (would love to do the cabins some day)
Saratoga Springs
Animal Kindgom Lodge

Swan and Dolphin are not on our list as they aren't Disney hotels.
