OK, let me try again after hijacking the wrong thread...

It's official; we can join the group as fellow cruisers and do the banana dance!

We booked our reservation today for the May 27th Costa Maya Cruise!!! This will be our forth cruise on the Magic (Eastern, Western, and 14 Day Panama).

There will be three Mickbees sailing, Andrea (DW), Stevie (DS), & Steve (Me- DH)

We had many decisions to make:
- Use DVC points, cash, or a combination of both
- Cat 9, Cat 6, or Cat 5

In the end we booked with a combination of DVC points & cash in a Cat6. The Cat 5 was only 13 points higher but we chose the location of the available Cat 6.

What sort of fun stuff is planned for the cruise? Is there going to be any Dis gatherings? Pirate nights, new excursions, etc?

We are looking forward to it!

Glad you found your way over here! As you can tell we are a talkative group and have fun with all sorts of issues and topics. Mostly we just mess around and have fun getting to know each other.

Several of us are cruised together on the 10-day 2004 Christmas cruise and are booked on this one too. Even more that did not are infected with the DIS board fun spirit. Some of us have already had pre-cruise meets and more are planned for the up coming months.

Mary will chime in here soon and give you the low-down on her wonderful website that has the group info and pictures. We are planning T-shirts, wine tastings, linking dining ressies and tables for even more fun.

Jump right in and have some fun! You will fit right in!!

Glad you made the decision to cruise with this bunch! We're a little ...ok, so maybe we're a LOT , but we have a good time. Some days we're serious (like today- discussing getting older and living life while we've got the chance), and some days we're not (like yesterday- discussing 'euphemisms' that have the innocent connotation of household chores). Jump right in and prove you're as crazy as the rest of us!!

Andrea keeps telling me she is going to buy me a coat for Christmas with REALLY REALLY long sleeves. Not sure why... Oh well.

Finally looks like we are getting some rain in the area. Jim are you running around Chicago in your jeep?

If I seem a little distracted over the next 9-10 weeks please forgive me. Our next cruise is coming up and we are getting excited! :thewave:

mornin' everyone. busy day today. we're heading into town to the scrapbook store. i got this crazy idea to have my camp kids make a scrapbook page while we're there. i thought we could lay out the whole thing (leaving space for pictures) and i'd take pictures of them while they are at camp and mail them the prints....then all they'll have to do is attach their pictures. thought that'd be fun for them, also fun for their parents to see things that went on at camp. i know, i know, i'm crazy to undertake this!!

then we'll be picking up nick's friend for a sleepover...but first we'll take everyone to dinner at dave and busters.

so i probably won't be on much today. have fun without me!

Good morning everyone. What was up last night? I usually have pages upon pages of posts to read through in the morning. But not this morning.

We're heading out this afternoon to spend the weekend in Louisiana. Does anyone else get stressed when visiting family? Our problem is that both families live the same area but are at least 2 hours apart. After driving for 7+ hours, we don't feel like running the roads once we're there. MIL is already upset that she found out we were coming by being told by BIL (DH's twin). I'm pretty sure my mom is mad that we won't be making the trek to see them and I've asked them to make the drive to have dinner with us. I sort of feel bad that we'll only have dinner together but they just came to our house at the beginning of the month and they say that they're coming back in Aug. for Emily's b-day. My family tends to visit us. DH's family RARELY visits.

Anyway, not sure how much I'll post over the weekend. BIL does have a computer so I'm sure I'll be checking in.

Angie - I feel your pain. Most of our relatives live close so we don't have that problem. But not everyone gets along with everyone else and we get along with everyone so there is a lot of venting being done to us on all sides.

Sounds very familiar... we fly in to Hartford, CT when we go home... my family is in CT, and Ray's family is 140 miles away in NH. We always fly into CT, as my parents have a spare car for us to use, but then we spend half our time driving between the two places, and trying to visit our old friends in Massachusetts in between. It causes WAY more stress than its worth!

Try to enjoy your time with your family anyway!

Good morning everyone. Welcome Mickbees!!!! Don't be timid, just join right in. We have a great group here. Everybody have a great 4th of July!!! Fireworks are everywhere.

OK, I think that Jeep has been around the NY area cause I'm starting to get webs between my toes with all this rain. It's only good for umbrellas and ducks. It's supposed to be beeeuuuuttiful for this weekend, so I guess I'll take that. The humidity has been unbearable though. How do you guys do it in Florida? I lived there for 1 1/2 years and needed to come back to Spring/Fall weather. Running from A/C to A/C is not my idea of fun. And after a while the pool gets to be way toooo hot to go into. Enough venting. I've got to go and do some returning...Wal-Mart, Kohl's, Sears and then pick up the kids at camp at noon.
