Both my older sons live in the Houston area and one year I sent them a bushel, roasted, peeled and frozen. To get there fast, so it didn't thaw out cost $80. Heck the chili only cost $20.

The next year I sent them the green chili's fresh and they had to roast, peel and deal with it. Only $16 shipping then.

Oh good...   then when can I expect mine?? hint hint:jumping1: :hyper: :crazy2: :scratchin  :dancer:

Was the Radisson worth the expense??? I'd love to go on a Radisson cruise or Seaborne cruise... I've heard good things....

We will be able to give you our first hand report after our Radisson cruise in November, but they felt it was worth it. Every meal was Albert's and Victoria. Crew, ship, everything was first class.

They felt that doing a top level HAL with concierge and Radisson were pretty equal, but the food on Radisson was better.

From seeing their pictures it is clear that Radisson is on another level than DCL, but with the kids DCL is the ship of choice. Without the kids, Radisson.

I am in! In fact I already booked RCI for Alaska 8/06. I have been on 3 different RCI ships. Magic is my favorite for food and service, and she is the most beautiful on the outside. RCI has a very good return guest policy: over the onboard booking discount, you get $$$ off for being a Crown and Anchor Member(more cruises, more off). A very nice meet and greet cocktail party ( more cruises, a meet and greet brunch). The Junior Suite(only sleep 3) is larger and a little less than the cat4(sleep 5) on Magic. When I was comparing HAL, RCI and Princess the $$$ were about the same. I stayed w/ RCI since I have been pleased with the line. Of course if DCL had other ships......

John and I love RCL - and we've only been on 2 cruises with RCL - both older ships - the Nordic Empress and the Splendour - I agree with Sue her RCI points and the Magic's old style looks- but, we liked the food better on the 2 we went on...Now, if I could eat in Palo every night - that's a different story...

But, then again - the major pluses for our RCL cruises - we didn't bring the kids...Of course, between MIL and FIL joining us and the oceaneers club and lab - we rarely saw the kids on our DCL cruise either...

A long time friend's son is an asst. cruise director on HAL so, she tries to cruise at least during each contract on HAL...But, when he's home for the month between contracts they always have a cruise booked on RCL or Celebrity...They've been cruising RCL for as long as I can remember, her son was in grade school - and now he's in his mid 20s...

Yes, I knew about the cookbooks, but alas I am not a cook :-(

Neither am I - but, I've checked them out just to read them...

 My name is Monica, I have an addiction to reading... I think my cure is the DIS boards...

And considering the RCL Splendour was in Galveston for awhile - and now the Radiance (I think)- a 20 minute drive to port is sure enticing. They brought in a Celebrity ship to take the Splendour's place on the Panama Canal Cruises...

Gunka, ALL the Nicholas Sparks books have a sad ending, didn't you know?

But it's a PATTERSON novel....it can't end sad.

I'm almost done with it. Holed up in the car and read while the kids were in VBS. One day, one book....I hardly ever read like that!

We just got off the Radiance, she is magnificent inside. Capt Darin proudly announced she received the RCI ship of the year award.

James Patterson wrote Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas - Nicholas Sparks also writes great novels that tug on your heart strings...Smokejumper was one of my favorites of his...

(snip)
Now, current goal of working through the library alphabetically - in addition to checking for new releases from previous authors - I'm a librarian wanna-be...

Yeah, Nicholas Sparks wrote that one...oh, I just saw the movie not too long ago....Help me out here...
Will look for Smokejumper. Although I picked up two more Miss Julia books (#4 and #5) and have one on reserve (#3)

When you say you're working through the library alphabetically....do you mean you'll read one from the A's, then the B's....etc...or are you reading EVERYTHING? ;)

"We get to the restaurant and find out that the characters do not actually eat with you."

WHAT????????????????????????????

Oh my goodness. THIS is why I won't go to WDW with my sister and her dh...this could have been THEM! Complain, complain, complain!!

And seems like they are training their boy not to be able to handle disappointment very well.

I think those things hold only 12oz cans. The Banfi bottles would be a tad to big!! :teeth:

Yeah, Banfi wouldn't work....but they do hold bottles....beer or IBC...

If it's a good read, I almost always finish it a day. I guess it's my other OCD trait (the first is planning Disney trips). I'll be up late on July 17.
