KikiKaren - are the kids in football or band.

Pop Warner Football. This is the first year that we have AP's, and this is the first year that we don't play most of our away games in the Orlando area (doesn't it figure...) Last year, many of the other parents would take their kids directly from the game to the parks... we thought it would be great to do this year, but we changed divisions, so our rivals are all closer to home now.

Great - I'll be glad to make PS (or whatever they call it now) for Rose and Crown on Epcot at 12:30 or 1:00 - who's in?

Amanda ::yes:: How many? 1 adult 1 kid( birthday girl Taylor) and 1 highchair
,

And rules - ok - KikiKaren's kids don't know about the May cruise so we will invent another lie as to why we are here....mine dont know either
Later. :wave2:
.....

No, my kids don't know, but I figure that if cruisetalk comes up (which I'm sure it will... I wouldn't expect it NOT to!!)... I'll just tell them that 'the REST of them are going on a cruise together, but we can't go with them this year because we just bought a new house." I'd believe it if I were them.

Patty - yes? Who" Scoopie, too I think???
Yes... there are 3 of us. 2 adults and 1 child.. and Scoopie We may not make it for the whole meal, but will do our best..
We plan on doing a whole lot of resting that day. Going to hunt the Beast down in France and then go back to the room and rest and come back for Illuminations.

I thought we were orginally talking about Sunday. If Saturday turns out to be the day, please let us know. Sunday would be better, but if it is Saturday we will work it out.

ScubaMom - we were talking Sunday and DH and I are still up for Sunday. Mark and Mary and Patty (I'm losing touch) are talking about Saturday. If KikKaren can make Sunday - we could do 2 mini-meets. Sunday lunch works for us too. And we are really excited about meeting as many cruisers as possible, exp. if Karen can join us on Sunday......Whew - could it get any more complicated. So - "executive decision" time (subject to change based on your posts......)

And - we are all here for DVC weekend and to meet up with those going on the September cruise. We are NOT all here for some imaginativ May 2006 cruise.

TWO mini-meets over Labor Day weekend...One on Sat. for the Scoopie exchange and much after for all who have passes. Thus far, I have for Rose and Crown seating
Mark/Mary and Bear
Irene/Sam and Hedgie
Patty - - 3 adults 2 kids and Scoopie
Amanda - one adult - one kid - one highchair

OhioMinnie and Crew will be at the DVC meet.

One lunch on Sunday for those who cannot make it Sunday. We will do Rose and Crown to keep it simple.
Subas - 2 adults - 2 kids
Irene/Sam and hdege
Karen and ??? (tentative)

Let me know if this is an OK summary.....Irene

Karen (OhioMinnie) - Are you going to the parks / staying at WDW after your cruise? Let me know. Sharon

Yup. We'll be at WDW from Sept 8-16 (leaving Friday so we can make it home for the OSU game on Saturday) I assume weekends are best for you?

I think I found a new bathing suit for the cruise:

Hi all, I'll butt in for a moment. I've been back a few hours, and I caught up on the thread before I unpacked! Alicia forgot the phone cord, so we couldn't dial up from the room, and were never there long enough to spend $10 for high speed.

It was a great trip. It was hot, hot, hot (record highs for July), but we hit the pool pretty regularly, and even did a couple of mid day naps. As Kevin, mentioned, we had some luck when we finally figured out to get up early and go to the park that had late EMH the night before.

Our group left a mark on WDW. For one thing, "Send More Banfi" is STILL spelled out in condensation on the Beach Club solarium windows. ;)

A few things have been mentioned already, like Alicia getting in the hot seat at Millionaire. Vanessa and Jordan took to wearing flashing tiaras on about the third day, and that attracted all sorts of attention, good and bad. I'll let Stacey tell about the Haunted Mansion, I'm sure she can do it justice. Vanessa and Jared were part of the Comedy Warehouse show, and Jordan, Matt, and myself became part of the show at the Adventurer's Club. We told Matt not to sit in the center!

The "Eddy family" was in the Trivia Challenge at the DVC party, all eight of us! We were cousins for the night. We answered every question right, but were glad we didn't get: "What is Donald Duck's middle name"? We all got Peppermint Pigs for our trouble.

None of us will ever forget the lightning strike about 100 feet from where we were walking in DTD. Three Moms in full panic mode, kids running in all directions. Ah, good times.

I talked to Kevin & Alicia right after I got home, they had arrived at the resort and were checking in. Going to bed early tonight, which is good because Alicia was near comatose by today. Too many late nights (3 am on Monday night at MK, PI last night), and early mornings.

Jim & Matt gave us a lift to the airport this morning, much nicer than the bus with all the stops. He got the bottle of Banfi we didn't drink (second bottle) to take along for the weekend. Would have left it for you guys, Stacey, but I knew you already have a bottle for tonight!

We missed the shuttle launch! We were on the pier and waited until 10:15, then we left. It was soooo hot. I know now it went up later. Now we're praying that it makes it back.

Mary, I'm not too worried about Matt and Alicia. No funny stuff there, but I think they ARE better friends now. So Matt visiting us a couple of days was a good thing, since their Dads like to go scuba diving together and take them along. Matt seemed to survive sleeping on the floor.

And who told me not to go to the Swan for sushi? We took your advice, and went to the California Grille. OH MY, it was amazing! We have eaten there before and love it, but not tried the sushi. We'll be going back with Kevin before or after the cruise for sure!

Stacey, Vicki, and I are ready to go back next year sans kids. If any of our kids are reading this, I'm just joking! :) They certainly made it more entertaining!

This looks like the shorts Lisa had to purchase for PE. They currently go down to her knees. The shirt was the smallest they had and it goes past he knees. I have been trying to shrink them since yesterday. Lots of Hot Water & Hot Dryers (why won't her clothes shrink; mine always do after a cruise. Oh yeah - I just get larger. HA HA) KiKi - How did Elizabeth's fit?

I think if I were you, I would attempt to alter them, based on how tiny Lisa is, and how large the shorts are!!! Elizabeth's aren't too bad, as long as she triple rolls them 'cheerleader' style.

She can't WAIT to start school on Monday. She's got our next door neighbor for science first period (Ms. Perozzi), so at least I know she'll be off to a good start for the day.

Love the bathing suit picture... when my sister and I went on our 'sisters' cruise, we spent a night in Miami beforehand at a hotel I got on Priceline. Little did I know when I booked that it was a Raddison timeshare that catered to very strict Hassidic Jewish families... they were ALL in the water at the beach fully dressed... head to toe. Now, you have to understand... my sister would fit right in with us crazies, so of course, seeing fully-dressed people frolicking in the water was just WAAAYYYY too funny. (Sorry... not being disrespectful... it was just funny...)

:flower1: Good morning cruisers! :flower1:

Happy Wednesday!

Diana - welcome home. Thanks for the recap of WDW. That lightning strike sounds too close for me! :scared1:

Karen - love the swimsuit. Will you be bringing that with you on the Member Cruise?

Irene - thanks for all your help organizing the mini-meet!

Good Morning All - I used the on-line check in, new to RCI. Can't wait to see how it really works. Sue

Diana - Thanks for the quick update. I am glad you had a great time.

Sue

Diane - me too - glad you enjoyed the trip. We were disappointed. I think the Swan suchi was from our last trip....California Grill rocks!

Well, besides going camping, we found the other way to make it rain here in central Illinois...just schedule the roof to be replaced. :umbrella: We're having lots of thunder and lightening along with some rain. I hope it rains all day. The roofers dropped off all of their stuff and will be back around 5:30 (AM) tomorrow. Good thing that we're early risers. I didn't realize how bad the drought was here until I found this map http://www.drought.unl.edu/dm/monitor.html Mary and Mark, it looks as if you have it just as bad as we do, or worse. Have they started restriciting water use, yet?

I disconnected our home computer to do the tile ( God bless people who lay tile for a living) but it has taken a little longer than expected. I have fiber optics so I only have one line coming into the house so I can't even set it up some where else. Fran has been pretty busy getting ready for school so she probably would not have been on much anyways. I will keep in touch from work until the home computer is back up and running.
