Hi everyone My DH just suprised me with the news that we are booked for this amazing double scooper!!!! I'm wondering if there are any other Dis cruisers going with a DD8 or DD5. Has anyone stayed in 6062??? I'm soooo exited I could bust!!!

There are probably 3 of us with DDs that have just turned or will be turning 5. Not sure about the 8 year olds. Are those the ages of your DDs now or next year?

Glad you could join us!! Maggie, my dd8 (will be 9 at cruise) will be thrilled there is another girl her age going! I'm sure Mary (WDWLVR) will chime in but, she has a website with our pictures and cruise info - just click on her link to "meet" us all.

Maggie and I are the travel agents for Scoopie, our cruise mascot. There is a link to his webpage from Mary's website or from the bottom of my signature.

What else can I tell you?

Chipdale&Fun is our awesome cliff notes expert-just ask for a recap and she'll work her magic.

Friday is kareoke day, we celebrate getting a "top of the page", posting milestones, and just about anything else we can think of.

Thanks Mickeymo & Cajungirl2 ! My DD's will be 8 & 5 at cruise time. They will be so excited to have other kids their own age. Last cruise (march 19) there seemed to be a weird shortage of DD7's Mary's website is my next stop. It's so nice to be able to meet people here before the cruise

We tend to get waaaayyy off the subject of cruise-stuff... with the cruise being so far away (but it IS getting closer), we just pass the time getting to know each other, poking fun at one another, and planning Double Scoop DIS-meets wherever and whenever possible. (See yesterday's posts for upcoming DIS-meets over Labor Day Weekend).

Yup. We'll be at WDW from Sept 8-16 (leaving Friday so we can make it home for the OSU game on Saturday) I assume weekends are best for you?

Yes, I think Matt & Lisa will be at the MK on Saturday Night for Night of Joy with our Church's youth group. I get those details this Sunday Night at Church. I let you know our plans better after that.

Welcome DisneyDizz! My DS (11 at cruise time), on the other hand is already shocked by how many girls will be on the cruise. The boys are getting way out-numbered, I think. Stateroom 6062 looks like it is in a great location.

Hi there and welcome aboard. No DD's or DS's but a wonderful DH!

We have stayed in 6142 for our first cruise and the 6th floor is where it is at!

You joined a a good time because many of our thread members are distracted with the last summer vacations or planning for other trips, so you will be catch-on fairly quickly.

We have a diverse group of new cruisers, frequent cruisers, and disney nuts!!!! Check out Mary's site to meet us all and post your info when you feel comfortable.

There is a subset of Scuba Divers who speak their own language at depths unknown.

There is a subset of actors who sing their own songs - esp. on Friday which is Kareoke posting time.

We have an active group of parents who all have great kids, and you will learn they are into gymnastics, football, learning to drive, camp. etcetc.

There is a subset of Harry Potter readers (and anti-HP). If you have read the book - shhhs no telling yet.

There are avid readers and we have talked about a book exchange on the ship.

If you enjoy fine wine - you will fit right in and we have discussed a wine exchange. Those who drink soda or beer are also welcomed.

We have self-appointed leaders for shirts, buttons and possibly wrist bands. We have a meet set on-board as well as various mini-meets if we are in the same town at the same time, all voluntary of course.

Some of the teens have (may have) their own board, but your kids may be too young for that....

Our mascot is Scoopie -- he is traveling the county and has his own website. See Mickeymo's posts.

You want to know something about the Cruise, this group will have the answer and shares wonderfully. However, we also chat about other stufff, anything that is fluff or pot stirring gets a mention.

We celebrate the top of a post with TOP.

Welcome DisneyDizz --- Sounds like you'll fit right in. WELCOME!!! This group will make you laugh and make you wanna wish the cruise was this week instead of 44 1/2 weeks away. Hey, when we started, or should I say when I started on this thread it was almost 16 months away. Time is a flyin'.

Anyway, I won't be on much this weekend people. Don't forget, we're heading up to Canada to the Falls. Scoopie, too. He's a lot smaller than I thought, but don't tell him that. Some people say that size matters...hahahaha. I wouldn't know, my DH is Italian... Oh yeah!! I'm not as fortunate as some of you with a laptop to bring. We are staying at my SIL's house for one night and she has a computer, so if I get a chance to pop on, I will. Otherwise, can't wait to hear about the DISmeet and see some pictures. Jealous I can't be there with you.

My name is Jodi, I have a DH (Mo), and 2DD's (Rachel 8, and Rebecca 5)
I'm a Florida native, I've been doing WDW since the year it opened (I was VERY VERY young ) we usually go a few times a year. DH thinks I'm nuts.
I used to teach school and run an after school care program for an elementary school. Now I am a "stay at home" mom...though I have yet to have a day that I stay at home

And - we are all here for DVC weekend and to meet up with those going on the September cruise. We are NOT all here for some imaginativ May 2006 cruise.

TWO mini-meets over Labor Day weekend...One on Sat. for the Scoopie exchange and much after for all who have passes. Thus far, I have for Rose and Crown seating

"A unique red sparkling wine. Sweet and appealing. Aromatic with a hint of rose petals and raspberries, best with chocolate, especially dark or bittersweet.”

We were introduced to this by the Tinks at last year's Wine and Food festival. Since than it has been on all our cruises and mini-meets. It is a great wine for sitting and sipping with friends, but don't forget the chocolate.
