Monica and John - sorry to hear about the water mess. Glad to hear the clean-up is going well.

I'm always hallucinating water dripping noises or wet spots on the ceilings. I'm so freaked out something is going to leak. Maybe that's why Mike keeps telling me to get Zoloft!

Maybe Detrol would be better? :confused3

just watched a national geographic show called critical situation: downed pilot.

wow.
story of scott o'grady. ejected behind enemy serb lines and spent 6 days trying to not be killed and to stay alive.
ate leaves and drank the sweat that had accumulated in his socks.
i don't even like tent camping!

remind me not to sign up to be a fighter pilot when i grow up! ;)

He has an autobiography probably geared for the upper elementary/middle grades called Basher Five-Two - I picked it up after Mike was finished...I was very impressed - What an incredible, humbling testimony...

Good Morning All. Just caught up on reading. Sorry about the contest Karen.

John & Monica -- good luck with your clean up. That happened to us a few years ago and it was a mess.

I got to sleep in this morning. Ashley has had an intestinal bug so she didn't go to swimming and I have to take Dale to Las Cruces for the orthodontist, so it has been nice to relax some this morning.

Have a great day

Jared and I are heading to Las Vegas this morning....no, not a gambling trip with my son! We're meeting a friend and her family to stay at their condo and just chill.
Megan has been in the hospital. She's home now and doing much better, but she'd had the flu, then pneumonia and fainting & her heart was racing. The docs ran tests on her heart, which is fine. The dehydration apparently was the base cause of the problems.

Will check in from there. Everyone take care!

Virgil....keep having fun there, and I'm sending good wishes for a much smoother return home!!!

file this under "be careful what you wish for..." category:

we were just talking this weekend about getting the motivation to clean out the hall closet, kitchen pantry and in general begin to de-clutter the house... Considering, we're pack-rats, it's easier to not be motivated...

Fast forward to this afternoon, come home from a morning of work, to an indoor swimming pool and a hairline crack in the water line to the refrigerator... :scared1: The water spread from the kitchen and into the dining room and living room on one side and the family room and the hall closet which parallels the kitchen wall where the refrigerator is. .So, yep, we now have the motivation to clean out the pantry and the hall closet...

Hopefully, the carpeting will dry and we won't have to rip up and replace all the carpeting downstairs...

You didn't say - but did you WANT new carpeting downstairs....????

Good luck!

Well things are drying out. Fortunately we are on a concrete slab so it isn't going to get into floor boards and such. Pulled up 6-7 gallons of water from the carpet plus numerous towels. The carpet is burbur and polypropylene so I was able to use a bleach wash with the carpet steamer. We will see -- we do need to replace it anyway, but there goes the trip to Disney in the fall!:headache: Anyone want to help lay 1100 sf of tile?

Oh no! Say it isn't so.....the trip that is...and continued good luck with the clean-up...

Poor Megan - hope she is feeling better

Angie - thanks for the trip report...It sounds like you had a great time....and packed loads into your week...........Now you need a week off to relax....:happytv:

Well, summary of the week to date....

DSL line is down.....(over the weekend, you knew that). I tackled the jungle once again. Trust me, it is winning...took the cat to the vets for shots and caught up on sleep....Sunday finally we saw PIRATES III and stayed to the entire end of the credits of course. Stopped by the Irish Pub to make sure it was still there.....Did errands, chores etc.

Monday, DSL line was back up. Had a terrible thunder storm. The cat hide under the washing machine, no clue how......DSL line went down. Oh well...sigh..

I have been driving out of town all week so far, back and forth and back and forth and had to take Mother to the MD (routine). Then Sam calls, 2 wisdom teeth must be pulled ASAP.

All small stuff, but one wonders, what is next?

Maybe I should go home and check the hot water heater - just in case?

Wow! Pixie dust to all who need it pixiedust: :tinker:Monica and John, Ashley, Sam, Megan and anyone else needing it. Some good news, DD's pathology on her lymph nodes came back clear. She's up and making trips to the library for reading material. Now I'm researching the lunar calendar for 2009, hoping that there will be an Eastern cruise for that week of a full moon (Sunday, June 6). Otherwise we might just have to do a back-to-back to catch a full-moon cruise. Right now we're planning on my booking while on board the all-girls November cruise, assuming that '09 dates have been released and I can wait that long (if they come out end of Sept.). I know that many of you have vacationed and cruised since last year, but we're holding out for double scoop group reunion.

Sandi

That is such good news about your daughter.

Stacey -- hope Megan is up and around soon

2 days on the antibiotic and Ashley is feeling much, much better.

Ok, I give........ Does the water heater get lonely???

Best wishes to all the folks needing PD and God speed on the healing!!

Glad to hear that your DD is doing better Sandi!!!

Ours used to, but we moved it next to the air conditioner and now they keep each other company. I think there is love in the air!

Maybe yours is just sad because you use its parts to roast weenies in the driveway? :confused3

Sandi - great news!!!!!!:rainbow:

And here is to your successful research on the moon....

(no, I did not send you to the moon!)

Alas, the carpeting did not dry out and yes, in our previous planning and wishful thinking, we had hoped to replace the carpeting in a few years..

Looking past the boxes stacked in the entry way, furniture everywhere, and partially removed carpeting, My kitchen is clean and organized, the garage is cleaned out, organized awaiting the tile, and now to tackle the boxes of stuff that we salvaged out of the hall closet...:cool1

And... we debated this weekend if we should keep the fall WDW reservation, and with a warped sense of humor, it is a clear message from Above, "THOU SHALT NOT ENJOY DISNEY WITHOUT YOUR CHILDREN..."

So, as always, with a warped sense of humor, Be careful what you wish. hmmm, why do I have the "Into the Woods" soundtrack running through my mind... It might have to be a movie night!!!

Did you happen to get the message if this was a "regular" sin or a "cardinal" sin? Because Mike and I DID enjoy Disney without our kids....back in 2001. Before we knew it was added as a commandment! HA :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

And....are there still only 10 commandments? Or is this #11? If there are still only 10, which one got dropped in favor of this one? :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:

Not sure if I would consider it a commandment more of a judgement... :lmao:

It might have been on the tablet that Moses broke...Didn't he carry down three ? Oh wait, that was Monty Python - getting them confused with Charlton Heston... :thumbsup2

If it is a commandment, since it's summer vacation...." Honor thy father and mother" is teetering on being dropped :rotfl2: I'd say "Children do not exasperate your parents - but, that's only a verse not a commandment..." So, close enough....
