:lmao: Wasn't that a picture of scuba at one time too? :lmao:

It's a picture of whomever we need it to be. After all the "boys" tried to get us to believe this was them:

Yeah, since he's helped me so much. If you've read my blog post about losing the contest, you'll know we were at the apple store....
but since we can't walk out of there empty handed....

we have the last MacBook we should need for awhile!!!! (the cat needed one)

So is that the PediaCAT?

HA!
Actually, Mike had ordered business cards and they came when he was at work. When he called to say he was coming home I said, "Why do they all say PediaCats instead of PediaCast????"

HA!

Hi all!

We're back from WDW ... actually got back Sat. night. It took me a while to catch up on all the posts.

We had a good trip. Rained almost every day but that was ok. We did the dining plan this time. We came out ahead. We're not big eaters so we would split counter service meals. We were able to cover breakfast & lunch with our cs credits. I did find that we were running to make our dining ressies. With little ones it's hard to figure out which park you'll be in each day. Even though I tried to plan, we always wound up back at MK. O'hana dinner was my favorite & Marrakesh was Bruce's favorite.

Glad to see that everyone is doing ok.

Hi Angie. Glad you enjoyed your trip in spite of the rain! Now, did Bruce like the food or the entertainment at Marrakesh? :rotfl2: We haven't been there in many years, maybe it's time to try it again since we've now acquired a taste for hummus.

How were the crowds?

He definitely liked the entertainment but liked the food as well. Emily was disappointed that she didn't get to go dance. A waiter had led us to believe that all kids would be invited to dance. I got the beef shishkabobs & those were good. He grew up overseas so he definitely likes more of a variety of food than I do. His family lived in Ghana for a while when he was younger.

It was crowded but not as bad as I thought it would be. Definitely do things early in the a.m. or right after it rains. Some rides had wait times of well over an hour. We just skipped those. My kids were content on just hopping on rides like Tomorrowland Transit Authority.

Here's my "trip report" to my friend. It's long but you'll get a run-down of the whole trip.

Disney was good ... not sure if I'd do the dining plan again or not. Sort of felt like it cut in to our park time because we were always rushing to get to our reservations. With little ones it's hard to schedule which park you're going to be in on which day. We definitely came out ahead with the dining though. Bruce & I are not big eaters so we always split counter service meals. We had enough credits to cover both breakfast & lunch. We didn't have to come out of pocket for any food ... other than Cinderella's Royal Table.

Let's see if I can give you a quick run-down of the trip. Sat. arrived at Pop around 2:00. Got unpacked then swam in the bowling pin pool. We were in the 50's building at the back. Our room was noisy though ... at the corner near the stairs & elevator ... didn't sleep well the 1st couple of nights. Anyway, while we were swimming I realized that I forgot all my underwear in the dryer at home! We had planned to go to the grocery for milk & adult beverages so we just made it a trip to Super Walmart instead. We drove straight to Chef Mickey's after that. We called it an early night.

Sun. we went to Magic Kingdom ... did some rides in Fantasyland before going to breakfast at Crystal Palace. After breakfast we went to Toon Town & rode Goofy's Barnstormer over & over again. We finally convinced the kids to move on to something else. Around 2:30 we headed over to MGM for dinner at Mama Melrose. We made it there just in time. While we were eating it started POURING down raining. A good thing I had ponchos. We put them on & headed back to the room. It rained for a few hours. Around 7:30 we headed back to MGM for Fanstamic. We were exhausted.

Mon. we slept in & went back to Magic Kingdom. We made it CRT just in time for our reservation. It was nice. I had heard negative things about it but we enjoyed it. Afterward we rode rides in Fantasyland. As we were getting off of the Pooh ride, they were handing out Year of a Million Dreams lanyards to everyone. Each lanyard had 2 Year of a Million Dreams pins on them. Emily got hooked on pin-trading. I wish I had brought some extra pins that I had. My sister, husband & kids arrived in the afternoon. We met up with them & did a little of Tomorrowland. Then we headed over to Frontierland to ride on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad & Splash Mountain. While in line for Big Thunder Mtn. it started pouring. Everything shut down. We just stayed in line & visited. My kids had a blast on the coasters. We headed out around 7:00 & just ate dinner at Pop with the intention of going swimming. It started raining again.

Tues. was Typhoon Lagoon. Emily was disappointed that she couldn't ride Crush 'n' Gusher. She was 48" with shoes in the parks but not in the water park w/out shoes on. We were planning on leaving around 3:00 because we had dinner reservations at 5:30. While we were eating a late lunch it rained a little. My sister & I went get bigger lockers to stuff our towels in. When we got back to the wave pool the skies had turned BLACK. We decided to leave. Just as we made it to the park exit, they announced that everyone would have to leave. I guess we had to leave about an hour earlier than planned. We all got ready to go eat at Spoodles. It was good but not great. We strolled the boardwalk & watched some of the entertainers. I'd love to be able to stay there... I've got to win the lottery!!!

Wed. was Animal Kingdom ... early entry. We went get Fastpasses for Expedition Everest first. Ashley was really upset that she wouldn't be able to ride. The boys stayed & rode single rider while we took the girls to DinoLand. My BIL & nephew went get Fastpasses for us for the safari. Then we went back to ride Everest but it was shut down. We went get in line for Nemo. Get there early!!! What a great show. After Nemo, everyone went to ride Everest with our fastpasses. Ashley & I were starving so I took her to Tusker House for lunch. Everyone else met us there. We did the safari afterward. After that we parted ways. Lynn, Mel & kids had to get home. Bruce took Ashley to get ice cream & Emily & I went use the final 2 fast passes for Everest. We tried to do It's Tough to be a Bug but my kids freaked. We left AK & headed to Magic Kingdom. My kids wanted to get their faces painted. Rather than walk to the back of AK we decided we would get it down in Toon Town. Well, we get to MK & it starts raining. We hung out in the gift shops on Main St. until it was over. When we got to Toon Town, everything was shut down. THey were upset. It was time to head to O'hana for dinner. This was my favorite meal. Food was good plus good entertainment for the kids. After that we headed back to MK. We stayed for the night parade. Emily got tired so I headed back to Pop with her & Bruce & Ashley stayed for Wishes.

Thurs. we went to Epcot. It was almost 11:00 by the time we got there. I screwed up on Fastpasses big time! We went get Fastpasses for Test Track first. We should have done Soarin'. By the time we were able to get another Soarin' return time was 6:00-7:00 PM. Our dinner was for 6:00. I thought Future World closed at 7:00 so I didn't bother to go back. Later on I noticed in the times guide that the rides stayed open later than 7:00 ... UGH!! We totally missed Soarin'. That was the one ride I wanted to do. We got the girls faces painted there. We stayed at Epcot until 2:00 then headed to MK. Ashley wanted to see the show in front of the castle. Bruce took her there & Emily & I went to the AAA story time that I had booked. That was nice. The Fairy Godmother read a story & then signed autographs & took pictures. We met back up afterward & did souvenir shopping. I never did find the shirt I wanted in my size. I'll have to call that # & see if they can get it for me. It was a white v-neck shirt with the castle & Where Dreams Come True logo stitched on it. We had to head back to Epcot for dinner at Morocco. That was Bruce's favorite meal. After that we called it quits. Everyone was tired.

On Fri. morning we packed, had breakfast then headed to my sister's house. We left her house around noon on Sat. & made it home around 8:00 PM.

he emailed a pic to me, and I posted it on photobucket. it's a picture of him on the beach in palermo. it's in the comment section.

he looks taller than i remember.

Thanks for sending "THAT" picture..... (The "Mark" who makes the comment after you - is my boss - at least for another 2 months..... :confused3 )

Long day went to Pompei, Sorrento, and Capri. Loved the first 2 - the second was ok. Was amazed in Capri, we were in a jewelry store and a gentleman was buying his wife and daughter 200,000 euros ( about $350,000) worth of jewelry..... Needless to say Frances didn't get much from that store.

The internet from the ship is worthless. Definitely going to complain.

Hi Virgil! Thanks for the report, the Capri shop sounds like a good place to look and not touch.

Angie, thanks for sharing your report. Boy, you did get some rain! I thought FL was dry this summer, Jim must be driving the jeep again.

file this under "be careful what you wish for..." category:

we were just talking this weekend about getting the motivation to clean out the hall closet, kitchen pantry and in general begin to de-clutter the house... Considering, we're pack-rats, it's easier to not be motivated...

Fast forward to this afternoon, come home from a morning of work, to an indoor swimming pool and a hairline crack in the water line to the refrigerator... :scared1: The water spread from the kitchen and into the dining room and living room on one side and the family room and the hall closet which parallels the kitchen wall where the refrigerator is. .So, yep, we now have the motivation to clean out the pantry and the hall closet...

Hopefully, the carpeting will dry and we won't have to rip up and replace all the carpeting downstairs...

Good luck with the clean-up! Sorry to hear that happened.

Monica, I know exactly how you feel. Sounds like what happened to us, and how we ended up with our kitchen remodel. I must say it was worth every penny to call in Peerless to dry things out. They have the moisture meters to find the wet spots, giant fans and vacuums. Ours had leaked down from the upstairs bathroom and flooded the kitchen, dining room and closet downstairs, and bathroom, hallway and extra bedroom upstairs, but ours happened when we were gone for a weekend. Here's hoping you get everything dried out nicely.

Ugh, Monica! Sounds like a big problem! I'm always hallucinating water dripping noises or wet spots on the ceilings. I'm so freaked out something is going to leak. Maybe that's why Mike keeps telling me to get Zoloft!
Hope it all turns out well. :)

just watched a national geographic show called critical situation: downed pilot.

wow.
story of scott o'grady. ejected behind enemy serb lines and spent 6 days trying to not be killed and to stay alive.
ate leaves and drank the sweat that had accumulated in his socks.
i don't even like tent camping!

remind me not to sign up to be a fighter pilot when i grow up! ;)

Well things are drying out. Fortunately we are on a concrete slab so it isn't going to get into floor boards and such. Pulled up 6-7 gallons of water from the carpet plus numerous towels. The carpet is burbur and polypropylene so I was able to use a bleach wash with the carpet steamer. We will see -- we do need to replace it anyway, but there goes the trip to Disney in the fall!:headache: Anyone want to help lay 1100 sf of tile?
