That is so very sad. Our thoughts and prayers are with Barb and her family.

I'm just shocked. You just never think something like that would happen to anyone you know. And i'm at such a loss as to what to do. I feel like I should be doing something......

You ARE doing something - by getting the word out, many of us will be praying for the family. :grouphug:

Good morning Cruisers

We sail in 84 weeks*!

*DISclaimer. This is based on a sail date of June 7, 2008. This can of course change once the 2008 dates come out and if DCL has anything special planned.

PS - sorry it is so late but no internet access this morning before we hit the road. :)

Karen - please give our congrats to Nick on the great review! Well done!

Stace - thanks for the info on Barb and her family. My sympathies to all of them.

Hi guys. I have some really sad and upsetting news. I don't know how many of you know my friend Barb. She is on the Boards as jilljill. I know that Mary and Mark know her, and gaRry, Virgil....maybe Ohminnie.....
Anyway, I have an e-mail from Barb. She and her family, parents and brother, all live in Delaware. There was a fire during the night at Barb's parent's house. Her father made it out of the house, but her mother didn't. Her dad was being treated for minor burns and smoke inhalation.
Please, please say a prayer for Barb and her family.

Ugh. Will keep her in my prayers. There was just a big house fire in Columbus. A 19 yr old and her three kids died....the youngest was less than 2 weeks old. Horrible. House fires scare me.

Good Morning, Everyone!!!!

John is up and off early shooting a 1/2 marathon this a.m. - I can't go back to sleep...I think I'll pop in a movie. I've been watching the movies based on the Janet Oke series - Love comes softly. Sweet stories athough I liked the books much better.

GOOD MORNIN ALL

stacey THANK YOU for the info.

have a safe day all

Here are some before (white stucco & blue shutters) & after (wheat stucco & black shutters) pics of the house. All comments are welcome ... good & bad ... still deciding whether or not to leave the stucco in the front green or have it painted wheat like the stucco accents. The green is a little washed out & gray looking in these pics.

Kicking off our pre-Halloween weekend with a few cuties:

Those of you with little ones, are they dressing up for Halloween? We want pictures!!
Here's a Halloween picture; Spider at night.....

Barb asked me to thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. Her Dad is still in the hospital, but he's not critical. She is at the stage of going through the motions. Making arrangements and phone calls and such. I'm fairly certain she's in shock and it hasn't all hit her yet.

Continued prayers for Barb and her family. I'm sure she is still in shock. More than likely, several days after the funeral is when she'll really need her friends - that's usually when it starts to sink in. Small gestures like a phone call or a note will mean so much to her. :grouphug:

(and yes, Kevin, that spider is just creepy!)

On a happier note, I heard from Jeri today (Juletime)!! She's been away from the boards for awhile. Something about having to work!!! Henrik and Helena spent the summer in Denmark. Jeri said to tell y'all "Hi!" :wave2: They're planning a Med cruise with her parents so they won't be on the Do-Over with us. :sad2:

We're home! Saw so many beautiful fall colors on our drive home both yesterday and today. Also got to see family last night which is always nice.

For those of you who have read the live thread know what even though we were disappointed in a few things we still planning on doing the next Member Cruise. The pros outweighed the cons of it for us. Where else would we have gotten to listen to stories by Roy Disney of his Dad and Uncle Walt?

We did a Wishes fireworks cruise on Friday night and it was awesome! It is a Grand Gathering and we had booked ourselves as the DVC Family Cruise. :) We had about 30 people and took over half the boat. You start in a conference room in the Contemporary where they have snacks available (cotton candy, peanuts, pretzels, pop, water, etc.) You are given a special collectible pin which is also your "ticket" onto the boat. Then Captain Hook and Mr. Smee show up for photos (we skipped this part). You are then led to the boat where the first mate (Patch in our case) gets everyone going. They found out it was our anniversary so he made us dance in the aisle to "Kiss the Girl". Pretty funny! We got to see the Electrical Water Pagent and then the fireworks! Since it was on the night of MNSSHP we got to see Hallowwishes - awesome! We were then met at the dock by Peter Pan! Sadly at the dock is where we also had to say goodbye to so many friends as our stay at WDW was at an end.

Our plan was to get up at 4 am Saturday and be on the road by 5. We didn't get to bed until 1 am! Woke up at 4 and saw a storm was rolling through so went back to bed for 2 hours and left at 7.

All in all a great vacation.

We did book a December 2007 cruise with the intention of moving it to the do-over cruise!
