Stacey- Prayers to Barb's family... what a nightmare. Fire scares me more than anything.

Gary is right... we all need to make sure our smoke detectors are actually DETECTING!!! I've got 12 in my house... and (at least) 10 ft ceilings everywhere... as soon as one starts its dead battery chirp, they all get changed... if not sooner. (But, why is it the the batteries ONLY start to go in the middle of the night???)

15 miles... running... I only run if I'm being chased.

Our crazy weekend is finally over... football allllllll daaaaaayyy (as usual) on Saturday. Ray's team lost again, but played better than they had been. Christopher's team won 22-0, and he was sooooo proud of his fumble recovery on the 1-yard line. That's the first 'big' play he's ever made- he was practically dancing off the field.

Yesterday was Elizabeth's cheer competition... they had a problem with their music, and had to perform their entire routine without it.... which they did GREAT at! The crowd really cheered them on as they continued without batting an eyelash. They placed 3rd... by 3/10ths of a point. (out of 100 points). Unfortunately, only 1st & 2nd place advance to Regionals. Which isn't sooooo bad, as Regionals are Thanksgiving Weekend... it would have meant another year of re-arranging our flights back to FL.

Well, after working both Saturday and Sunday at the apartment, it's finally done. All I need to do now is decorate a little, and then stock the kitchen. It's really pretty nice up there. Whew. But I am really sore! Guess I haven't scrubbed that much in a long time!

I get to have a little fun today. Going to the mall to try and find a couple of nice tops or sweaters. My dentist is giving me a makeover and photo session as part of my new dental work. Going to a local salon and then a gal here in town is doing the photographs. She's actually a children's photographer, did the girls' portraits when they were little, so at least I know I can relax and have fun with it. Anyway, I have to find a couple of solid-color tops to wear for the pictures. Nothing in my closet is jumping out at me!

We had dinner with Dee from the 10 day Saturday night. She was in town for a conference, Garry sent her our way. She gets to go on the 10 day this Christmas.

LOL, I would too.

It's actually called a Beauty Dish (right up your alley.... you beauty! ) a lighting reflector especially made for portraits and faces. At the very least, she'll have a large softbox and some umbrellas. Pay attention to what procedures she uses and where she places the lighting. It's interesting..... (well, at least to me)

Our group has lots of kids around your boys' ages! The kids even have a thread or 2 going, but they've been very quiet lately - I'm sure those will start up again when we can book our 2008 Do-Over!!

Someone said we're cruising together again because it's such a great group - and all along I thought it was because we didn't want to experience another cruise without Mark and Mary's special touches...

I'm a mom of one of those 12 year old boys...Don't remind me that in 2 years he'll be that much closer to driving...He's convinced he will have a corvette for his birthday... I also have a 9 year old girl...She's a "cool girl" according to her best boy-friend - she plays basketball and soccer and can handle a Nintendo controller with the best of them...And occasionally debate the finer points of Pokemon...

Well, I had a surprise today. In my mailbox was the postcard that we mailed to ourselves from Castaway Cay ! Actually it was one that we left at guest services since the post office was closed both days. What a nice way to remember the great times we had months ago.
