I KNEW I should have gone to the ER last night instead of waiting to see the doctor! Jay just didn't want to get dressed and spend half the night at the hospital.

This is the 3rd time we've heard the same thing....that a fracture didn't show on an xray until later after the injury. Garry's arm didn't show a break at first, either...so I accepted what they said to me. Hmmm....so you mean the radiologist just didn't want to commit to a diagnosis? Or he wants to get paid twice? Far as I know, he doesn't know the ortho.
All I know is that it hurts like a son of a gun......and even with ice and elevation, it's swollen so tight I feel like I could pop. Like the weasel. Get it? Ha. I guess I broke my sense of humor.

In rare cases - repeat x-rays at 7-10 days will show a subtle fracture that was not evident on the intial x-ray.

I was being smart about the radiologist knowing the orthopod..... but their favorite plant IS the HEDGE.... You can never get a radiologist to give you a straight answer.....(clinical correlation advised, no obvious fracture - but that doesn't rule out a fracture that we don't see, etc....)

Seems to be more and more the case now a days.

Their reports go something like this:

Normal Chest, Heart size within normal size, no apparent masses, Ribs appear to be without fractures.

Impression: Normal chest CT but cannot rule out the possibility of life threatening disease. (and in white text) therefore if this patient drops over dead tonight, it's not my fault! :lmao:

I think you guys hit it right on the nose. I wondered what my primary care doc meant when he said he "even called the radiologist" to ask him again about his report.
I see it as losing valuable time. Jay wrapped it for me last night in an Ace. (So garry you can keep your smelly green one!) Makes it feel better wrapped.

So where did all the Member cruisers disappear to? I miss the chit chat!

You guys have fun this weekend!!!

Busy night tonight - Mike has Basketball evaluations for his league and John has play practice - yep, John - he was cast as one of the police officers in Arsenic and Old Lace - sleeping with the stage manager landed him a role! :thumbsup2

ok - more like we were desperate! There isn't much in the way of sound issues with this show so, he can step out from behind the sound board for once. He mistakenly joked he should read for Johnathon the brother who is the Boris Karloff look alike - he didn't audition but we were desperate for a few more guys...We still need an Elaine, Teddy and the pastor. We'll be reaally desperate if I end up on stage.

We got some great news today...our exchange with II came up with a match. It is for a studio the week before we originally wanted to go. Needless to say we grabbed it. Since we were planning on a regular hotel room a studio should suit our needs just fine. I'm going to wait for the confirmation to come in and then I will call and change our original package to flight only. Yeah!

HA! Yeah...it would be a cold day before they'd get ME onstage too. But I wish we were closer. Jay used to act at the local melodrama theater...and Megan acts....

Stacy - sorry to hear about your friends family

Angie - sorry about your accident but glad to hear your back is all fixed.

Hello to all

Just popping to say hi. I've been so busy at work. The laptop has been coming home with me & I'm putting in even more hours while at home. Hopefully I can get to bed at a decent time tonight.

Tomorrow night we're swapping kids for sleep-overs ... we get the older 2 girls & the other parents get the younger 2. We'll see how that goes.

Stacey, hope your hand is doing ok.

Hope everyone has a good night!
Ang

We had booked a week at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, but when we won the II trade we put in a search for the Marriott's Ko Olina Beach Club which is on Oahu but not on Waikiki. It came through today for the week before our original plan.

:tinker:Good morning cruisers :tinker:

Happy Friday!

TGIF! So much to do and so little time to do it! Can't complain because most of what I have to do is get ready for fun. :)

Good Morning All - What a day yesterday!!!

Ready for True Confessions....Ready to Laugh???

As you all know by now, I seem to travel a fair bit - just within the state....

So, I drive to Florida City last night and arrive around 8:30 pm - Cool, the hotel is right next to Diver's Direct - BUT - they are closed....Oh well, I am saving money....

So I check in - the Best Western - 100% non-smoking - (nice for me).

I grab my clothes for the next day which were hanging in the car, the briefcase and - where is the overnight back? Take the stuff into the room....Very nice room, a fridge, microwave with popcorn waiting, coffee pot....oh, yes, where is the overnight bag? Since it was ashort trip, I tossed my necesaries into a canvas tote bag....

OK, I am going nuts, I call Sam -- oh yes, it is here, he says....Great! says I...

Off to Wal-Mart for shopping for more necesary items.....

First time for everthing I guess.......(Laughing yet?) Here I am in the 24 hour superstore buying (ladies will understand) make-up, extra unhdies, stockings, contact lense solution, etc etc etc.....

Oh well.....First (and last) time for everything.....Luckily the dress shoes were already in the car....

Morning Mary - You snuck in while I was having coffee --- care to join me? (You don't drink coffee do ypu?)....

Time to start VACATION!!!!

House sitter arrived yesterday - We started packing last night - With a scale....Hedgie says forget that - go on a cruise where they do not weigh luggage.

Kevin and Diana - how do you manage with the dive gear and cruise clothes??? Our cruise suitcase weighs 15 pounds - empty - ok it is not going to St. Thomas.

Lots to do.....I can't believe I am not ready!!!! Well, wetsuit and swimsuit is packed.....

Dive bag gear 25 pounds

Nope, no coffee for me. I am known to have some hot tea, but right now I'm drinking a glass of milk.

Some of us are still hanging around, just not posting. I already said I'm on the shy side, so it will take me a while to jump in.

I hope your arm is feeling better. My little guy broke his arm and when I took him to the ER, they refused to xray him because he was able to use it to grab a toy the doctor offered him. The next morning, with a dose of Motrin, I took him to another hospital where again, they said he didn't appear to need to be xrayed. I was a bit more insistant that day and sure enough, it was broken. I guess for him, the motrin was enough to take the edge away so he acted like a normal 2 year old, wiggling and giggling around as we waited.

We're heading up to Michigan with Mark & Mary --- in fact, they are riding with us. I've heard that Garry is coming to the meet. I look forward to meeting you --- but sorry, you can't have my liver.
