This is the 3rd time we've heard the same thing....that a fracture didn't show on an xray until later after the injury. Garry's arm didn't show a break at first, either...so I accepted what they said to me. Hmmm....so you mean the radiologist just didn't want to commit to a diagnosis? Or he wants to get paid twice? Far as I know, he doesn't know the ortho.
All I know is that it hurts like a son of a gun......and even with ice and elevation, it's swollen so tight I feel like I could pop. Like the weasel. Get it? Ha. I guess I broke my sense of humor.

In rare cases - repeat x-rays at 7-10 days will show a subtle fracture that was not evident on the intial x-ray.
I was being smart about the radiologist knowing the orthopod..... but their favorite plant IS the HEDGE.... You can never get a radiologist to give you a straight answer.....(clinical correlation advised, no obvious fracture - but that doesn't rule out a fracture that we don't see, etc....)
