Saw some footage of the DL Pirates ride this am on the local news, looked VERY cool, the lifelikeness of the new animatronic they showed was incredible.

And, just a friendly reminder the end of the month is , umm... looming.

Sofar I have cd's from: Justmestace, RachelTori, Tinks, Ohiomouse(mices? ), Armyfam, Whnim64, and also participating is DVCDebb, sans pics due to the accident at home, and the Scubas, who I'm really anticipating that mailing.

Have also heard from CajunGirl2/Angie, MickeyMo/Monica, DateTooDream/Sherry, Kikipug/Karen, TinyTink/Theresa, WVMD/Virgil, chip&dale&fun/Irene, and itdjbw/Julia. And yes, I'm going to make sure GarRy gets one, too.

Now for anyone who doesn't know, here's the rundown.

I'm going to combine everything I've been sent into (hopefully) one dvd. Which I will then send back out to everyone who's participating.

There's only a few rules:

- Private Message me for an address to send your stuff to.
- Include $5 for packaging/shipping.
- Specify if you can't use a DVD. It's more complicated, but yes, I can do it.
- I can also optionally scan in film, but don't send me originals or negatives. Second set of prints would be fine. I'd really prefer digital as it does take serious time to scan each one.

Too funny. My first thought, upon reading Monica's post, was that she needed a studfinder. What is it? A universal MAN thing? B/c what you describe is EXACTLY what Mike did when we first got a studfinder!!

Fess up, Kevin....ever use a studfinder to find yourself?

I always find the bathing suit's fade when we go to Myrtle beach - they must have a ton of chlorine in there pool and lately they don't seem to last or wear as well as they used to.

Julia - we're going to Murrells Inlet/Myrtle Beach this August for the 1st time. Do you have any advice on what to/not to miss there? Anybody else have any kind words?

Hi all! Hope everyone had a good weekend. We had a not-so-good one. Here goes ...

It all started on Fri. afternoon. Bruce was doing some weed eating before cutting the grass. I could hear a tinkling noise of stuff hitting the back door. About 30 min. later Emily started screaming that the glass was breaking. I always thought it was individual panes but it's just one big pane! It kept cracking for probably an hour. It's double paned so just the outside cracked & it stayed together ... guess there's some sort of film in it. Then it started raining & lightening. Our house got hit! Thank God the house didn't catch on fire. We can see a spot at the peak of the roof where the wood is scorched!!! It blew our a/c, alarm system, stereo receiver, new cordless phones, cable box, router & dsl modem. I've been without cable & internet ALL weekend ... boy was that hard for me!!! I called the ins. co. Fri. night to file a claim. A claim's adjuster will call me today. I called the a/c people that we've used before & left a message on their emergency #. The a/c people came out at 10:00 on Sat. They had a replacement board that worked. So we were cooling off by 11:00 a.m. We had another storm come through Sat. night so I didn't sleep very well.

To top it all off ... Stacey, I feel your pain!!! Last night I went threw something on the shelf in my closet & the whole rack came off the wall ... ugh! So at 9:00 I was cleaning out my closet. I bagged 3 kitchen garbage bags of clothes & I'm not done. I had been planning on cleaning out. Guess I'll try to tackle some more tonight.

I did clean house all weekend ... guess that's the only up-side of not having tv or internet!

Not sure I'll be able to catch up on all of the posts that I've missed since Fri. Someone let me know if I missed anything.

So glad your house did not catch fire. Just make sure if your smoke detectors are direct wired they are okay. My house caught fire 3 years ago from lightning along with a 75 ft oak tree thru the roof. It even back fed and got my neighbors computers and garage door openers. Just melted all the electrical stuff, even the phone on the wall and it followed water lines inside walls a created several holes in them that we discovered a week later. After recovering from that fire was not ready for this last one from toy helicopter battery exploding. Remodeling everything again is not my idea of fun. WE are having storms here in SC too so know where you are coming from. Take care and understand what your going thru. Hope all will be well soon. I may get my house finished in the next week. Definitely ready to have home back.
But please check your smoke detectors thankfully had replaced mine with battery operated that is what saved family this time. Every room in the house has one now. Over kill maybe but we made it out since we only have one main exit from 2 story home Thankful for smoke detectors.

See, I think this is where I got confused before. It seemed (seems?) like this is only for those participating by adding to the dvd.... what if you don't have anything to add? I mean we never even got pictures of anyone else- just us... and most of which are shown in my trip report anyway besides photos taken by DCL- are people scanning those pictures onto a CD and sending it to you plus $5 to get the "combined" dvd back? Why am I so confused? I need more sleep me thinks.

I am sorry to hear about the lightening strike. Weird how we have been having lightening storms every evening for almost 2 weeks. I dont mean just drizzle i mean downpours. I am glad you got your air back, because if it aint raining it it to darned HOT!!!!!!!

I didn't scan in and add my Shutters photos. I should have, but I was thinking more of getting what I had to Mark on time, and didn't.
And...all of our pictures are pretty much "family pics"....with some other DISers tossed in. That's the whole idea, to see what everyone else was doing, while we were taking pictures of our own. At least, I thought that was the idea.

And yes....I do believe that a stud-finder has been pointed at Jay and all the other guys in our shop at one time or another. You men are all alike!!

LOL Actually because of what happened, I am going to cancel my free dining package@ POP (booked b4 we bought DVC) and just use points and eat ramen noodles every day, breakfast lunch and dinner

now theres motivation!! I can see it now! Fade to Amanda 1 year from now, size 0 gorgeous and beautiful..Howd ya do it Amanda??? I owe it all to the person who stole from me! Because of him/her, we ate Ramen noodles for months! We became addicted thus ruining our tastes buds to a point where no food was palatable. Since then me eat only iceburg lettuce, EVER. Well I could have canceled my WDW trip and used that money for more luxiourious things at the time, like food, but well, one has to draw the line somewhere!!!!!

Amanda -- how many of you are going?? If it were just you and your husband I would say definitely Boardwalk. If you are taking the kids, OKW is bigger and it has 2 queen size beds. The ones at BWV have a queen size and a sleeper sofa.
