Good Morning Everyone!

I hope the week will turn out better for everyone. Sounds like it was a rough weekend. Prayers and Pixie dust for the coach's family. Angie, so glad y'all are alright! Amanda, that was a very touching story about the man in the park.

We had a somewhat busy weekend. The highlight was the Chicago and Huey Lewis concert last night. It was fun, especially Huey was my first concert waaayy back when. We had great seats. My only problem was trying figure out why there were so many old people dancing to Huey's music - and could I be one of them???? And gasp, I actually complained of ringing ears post-concert because the music was too loud :lmao:

Even though I love Huey and Chicago - Chicago with Earth Wind and Fire was a better concert...Their music complimented each other nicely and were able do more sets together.

I thought about getting tickets to that, but had nightmares about being old and trying to relive my younger days. I think Chicago was my first concert. I remember telling my Mom that I wanted to go to "Chicago"....and seeing the look on her face! Took me a while to explain that it was a band.

You might want to find a creative memories consultant. They seem to be pretty good about walking you through things (at least that's been my experience) If you lived closer, you could come here. I have a scrapbook store in my house! ;)

Me too, I tend to buy the stuff and never use it!!!

One of Jared's teammates Mom has been trying to convince her husband to take a Disney cruise. They travel all over, and have cruised, but not DCL. She had me telling him about Disney and even Jay chimed in. Funny to see "Mr. I'm Not Going To Cruise Again" get so animated when he talked about a Disney cruise. I hope we have them convinced!
Did you get that on tape??? :rotfl2:

Dunno. In fact, KT's other bathing suit (from LLBean) has faded terribly! The top is alright (except the trim around the arms) but the bottom colors are more pastelly than the bright colors they were. Must call LLBean about that too. She did swim.....A LOT.....on vacation, but I've had suits in the past (usually Lands' End) that lasted an entire summer or more and KT LIVED in the pool.

Now maybe the difference is we keep our cholorine at a safe level, whereas Disney may keep it at the high end of safe (b/c of.....well, let's not go there)

I always find the bathing suit's fade when we go to Myrtle beach - they must have a ton of chlorine in there pool and lately they don't seem to last or wear as well as they used to.

Hi all! Hope everyone had a good weekend. We had a not-so-good one. Here goes ...

It all started on Fri. afternoon. Bruce was doing some weed eating before cutting the grass. I could hear a tinkling noise of stuff hitting the back door. About 30 min. later Emily started screaming that the glass was breaking. I always thought it was individual panes but it's just one big pane! It kept cracking for probably an hour. It's double paned so just the outside cracked & it stayed together ... guess there's some sort of film in it. Then it started raining & lightening. Our house got hit! Thank God the house didn't catch on fire. We can see a spot at the peak of the roof where the wood is scorched!!! It blew our a/c, alarm system, stereo receiver, new cordless phones, cable box, router & dsl modem. I've been without cable & internet ALL weekend ... boy was that hard for me!!! I called the ins. co. Fri. night to file a claim. A claim's adjuster will call me today. I called the a/c people that we've used before & left a message on their emergency #. The a/c people came out at 10:00 on Sat. They had a replacement board that worked. So we were cooling off by 11:00 a.m. We had another storm come through Sat. night so I didn't sleep very well.

To top it all off ... Stacey, I feel your pain!!! Last night I went threw something on the shelf in my closet & the whole rack came off the wall ... ugh! So at 9:00 I was cleaning out my closet. I bagged 3 kitchen garbage bags of clothes & I'm not done. I had been planning on cleaning out. Guess I'll try to tackle some more tonight.

I did clean house all weekend ... guess that's the only up-side of not having tv or internet!

Not sure I'll be able to catch up on all of the posts that I've missed since Fri. Someone let me know if I missed anything.

Ang

Sorry to hear all your damage from the storm, they were bad this weekend, we lost power a couple of times while watching a movie on Saturday night and the lightening is so loud it's scary at times.

Funny, my closet rack for my hanging clothes also came down this week, we put built in in our closet last year and of course DH says they only hold so much and I pile them high. He is going to fix it all while I am out of town next week and before they paint the house

Wow, a lot was going on this weekend. Ang, I know all about scary storms. Hope everything gets back to normal quickly. It's quiet around here. DS is at church camp until Friday evening. DH took a week's vacation, but is stuck painting/fixing up our church's parsonage. Our pastor of 8 years got moved to a different church, moved out on Sunday and the new pastor is moving in on Friday. DH hates to paint, and really didn't want to use vacation for this, but he's chairman of the trustees. After dropping of DS yesterday we had the whole 'do we want to cruise again or buy some land or an RV for retirement' conversation. Even though we have at least 15 years before retirement, we are seriously thinking of where we want to retire, or if we want to get a big ole honkin' motorhome and just move as the weather changes. We agreed to cruise at least one more time (that's what we said for the double scoop cruise) in 2008 for our 15th anniversary and Larry's 50th birthday. Happy Monday, everyone.

Spoke with Sam about the "do-over cruise". He is game in 2008 as long as it is not too late in June....And it will be our 30th Anniversary - gasp

Wow - what a chain of unfortunate events. Glad no one was hurt and hope the repairs go smoothly...

We had some friends over Sat. evening. They have been wanting to do a Disney cruise but thought that it was way too expensive & they couldn't afford it. They seriously thought it would cost $10K!!! I told them exactly what we paid & they are very excited about the thought of going. They too will try to book something for summer '08. We even talked about going at the same time. Their girls are the same ages as ours. I gave her my Passporter book to get her started.

Ang

Common theme - my passporter, dated as it is, has gone to a good home...a potential future cruiser....

I don't think it was ever attached to studs in the 1st place. It's not so much he can't do it but doesn't want to!!! That's the aggravating part. Now, give that man any piece of electronics or electrical equipment & it'll be done yesterday!

Are you married to my dh? Seriously, we are a couple of goofballs when it comes to home maintenance and repair. For a good laugh, you should have come over yesterday and watched us try to cut out one of the dead sections of our huge lilac bush. One ax, two goofballs.... luckily no one ended up in the ER!

Sorry to hear about the lightning. Yeowzer! We just had two homes in Columbus burn down after lightning strikes. Scary stuff. Glad it wasn't worse!!

What to do, what to do. We did NOT like going to WDW in June. And we'd want to combine DCL and WDW, I'm sure. We may be cruising with Maria. :earseek:

Tell ya what, Kevin....when you need a huge cross stitch wedding gift done complete with beading.... I'm gonna tell you "it's not that hard....just thread a needle and go for it!" :lmao: :lmao:
