Thinking of going to VB instead of OKW for one of the upcoming trips - would there be a fair sampling of attractions and things to do at VB and area (willing to drive up to 1hr for if needed) or should I just take the crew to WDW?

This would be for November trip this year (note we are going to BWV/BCV in Jan and VWL in Feb)

Thanks

We've taken our children to VB on several occasions.

I think our youngest was 1 when she first went and we never ran out of things to do.

She definately enjoyed the pirate ship the last time we were there-she is now 4.

They have treasure hunts, mini golf, crafts she can do, the pool, the slide, the beach, toy fish hunts, etc.

I say go for it. We always go in late October and it is a wonderful time to be at VB-not very crowded, lots of personal attention, always a chair by the pool. The weather that time of year is wonderful.

Let us know what you decide.

The CM's there are wonderful with kids and there are a lot of activities going on. In my experience most young kids don't have ANY problem in filling their day digging in the sand and playing in the pool. There is a nice lagoon/nature area at Sebastian Inlet just down the road. I think that maybe 4 or 5 days is my person limit on "beach chilling" but if you're going for longer than 5 days you could split the vaca and do 4 days at WDW and a couple (or more) at the beach :D

It is a different style/pace of vacation than a WDW break but I think sometimes kids can get over-stimulated at WDW and a more "normal" beach vacation gives them the chance to have a less "hyper" holiday. You could call the recreation department at Vero and ask them to fax you a copy of the current programs that are offered to give you an idea of what you can expect. They don't finalise the actual programs until about a fortnight before they run, but most of the programs are standard features and it will give you some thoughts about what is likely to appeal to you and your family.

On our recent trip to VB there were lots of young children. There was plenty for them to do, both organized activities and just plain old fashioned playing. It will be a relaxing break for them and Mom and Dad from the more hectic WDW visit.

The best part is the lack of souvinier shops at the end of every activity! :)
