Hallmark Movies ❤️ comfort & joy

I really enjoy watching Schuyler Fisk's work. I first saw here in the Christmas movie, "Every Other Holiday". Then I saw her in "Sam & Kate" where she got to work with her mother Sissy Spacek and also Dustin Hoffman and his son Jake Hoffman.

Thanks, I had no idea who she was.

I finally watched Christmas on Call. It had a good amount of action and multiple plots. The problem was none of the couples had any chemistry. I enjoyed it, but the kisses looked uncomfortable for the actors, and that was a buzz kill at the end of a meh movie.

🐔 The Chicken Sisters has already been renewed for Season 2. 🐔

Marry Me in Yosemite playing now on Hallmark Channel. Probably the best scenery of any of the movies, imho.

If anyone is contemplating a trip there. DO NOT WAIT! One day, you'll be too old and decrepit to travel. The scenery in real-life is 10x what you see in pictures or on on film.

I have missed all of you in this fun and kind thread. I have posted about health issues in the kindness thread. Grace of God I have come a long way. I will leave it at that as not to derail this thread :)

I also overall liked Christmas on Call or at least the idea of it. It reminded me of a Christian faith based tv series County Rescue that I have become a fan of.

Back to Christmas on CalI, I did think some of the story felt rushed and that indeed the leads didn't seem to be in sync.

Last night I watched and enjoyed an older movie called Adeline about a therapy horse named Adeline.

Hug, sweet dreams, and happy movie/tv watching to all.

Reminder for Saturday:

In time for Easter, this DaySpring/faith-based movie centers around the (usually) month long, famous and historic pilgrimage walk/hike along the "Camino," short for a section of El Camino de Santiago.

The Camino is an ancient network of at least 500 miles of roads and paths that crisscross Portugal, Germany, Italy, France, Belgium and even southern England. The imposing cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in northwest Spain’s region of Galicia, toward which all these routes lead contains, according to tradition, the relics of St. James the Great.

As recorded in the Acts of the Apostles, James — one of a trio of core Apostles among the 12, along with his brother John and St. Peter — was slain on the orders of “King Herod”. The first of the Apostles to be martyred, he likely died about A.D. 44.

Most of those who undertake the journey to Compostela follow a single roadway of about 200 miles, covering roughly 15 miles a day for two weeks. Those in search of a challenge can include a crossing of the Pyrenees in their itinerary.

The high season for the expedition comes in the months from April to June, with September and October being the next most popular periods. As Monica and her companions do in the movie, registered pilgrims can obtain a credential that is then stamped at various points. Some hostels require this document for admittance.

Pilgrimages in the strict sense date back to the 9th century. In the 1950s, the Spanish government began promoting a more loosely defined version of the trip as a draw for tourists.

While the pilgrimage's goal to to make it to the cathedral, it is the actual journey that is often the life changing event, not the final destination.

Journey to You is on the Hallmark Channel at 8pm ET/PT, 7pm CT.

Re-airs:
Sunday April 20 7/6c
Wednesday April 23 8/7c
Saturday May 3 10/9c

Starring: Erin Cahill and Erik Valdez.
Description: In “Journey to You,” Cahill plays emergency room nurse-practitioner Monica. Responding to Monica’s concern that both her personal life and her career seem to have stalled, her mother Dot (Pamela Field) suggests that she undertake the same pilgrimage her father had once made. “It will change your life,” Dot advises her daughter.

That Monica already has some religious faith is shown by the fact that she regularly consults a devotional journal she inherited from Dad.

Monica joins a group of four other wayfarers, among whom is her eventual love interest, Luis (Erik Valdez). On the rebound from a divorce, Luis is traveling with both his father and his teen son.

A spirituality-tinged friendship springs up between Monica and Luis that eventually burgeons into romance, albeit at a very deliberate pace. That, Cahill enthusiastically notes, distinguishes the film’s plot from those of many other Hallmark presentations.

“Normally, the romance has happened a little more quickly,” she observes. “I love that they gave our characters enough time and space to know each other.”

“Part of the reason this felt so divine,” Cahill added, “is that I knew exactly what Monica is going through.”

Thanks, Imzadi. I believe a former church pastor and her husband took that spiritual walk years ago. I'll have to ask her next time we are in touch.

The Gift of Peace is on Hallmark from 1pm to 3pm tomorrow. It's a beautifully done faith based movie that centers on a small group of people who help one another heal their greiving hearts through a church support group. Not a typical Hallmark movie at all but a very touching one.

Have a good night, friends with sweet dreams.

I just started watching the Chicken Sisters, it's much better than I expected it to be. I' really enjoying the dysfunctional family dynamics and characters.

Interesting, when I was looking at pictures of the show to post, some looked a bit over the top. So I didn't know what to make of this show.

I'm glad a lot of dear you are enjoying, "Signed, Sealed, and Delivered."

I'm almost done watching a movie from 2023 that I had never heard of called Unexpected Grace. It takes place in Oregon and is about how God uses a note tied to a balloon to help heal the hearts of at least three people dealing with grief. A different storyline that I'm enjoying. May all of you enjoy a good movie today, too :)
