Does anyone know the expiration date (year) for the BCV, BWV, HH, OKW, VB and WLV leases? I am trying to get a handle on the value of those leases if I purchased a resale as opposed to purchasing at SS directly from Disney (or a resale at SS). Why is the price for the older properties as high as the price for SS which is a longer lease?

SSR expires Jan 31, 2054. All the other current DVC resorts expire Jan 31, 2042.

The price, thru DVC directly, is $98 per point for SSR (there is also an incentive credit available) or $92 per point for the other resorts.

All DVC resorts (including SSR) may be found for less thru resale. Be sure to do the math, consider all costs (closing costs, annual fees) and number of points available when comparing the actual cost of a resale vs direct purchase. Resale prices may vary greatly based on the resort but all will have to pass Disney's Right-of-First-Refusal.

Many people are willing to pay more for the 11 month booking advantage at at a particular "sold-out" resort.

I know that we didn't do any rigorous cost analysis, DVC was a puchase primarily for our enjoyment.

That's excellent advice from WebmasterDoc.

Also, when comparing your DVC choices, keep the annual dues in mind. In the long run, you'll pay far more for annual dues than for the initial purchase. Although the annual dues can and do change from year to year, they reflect the actual cost structure of operating the resort. The seven DVC resorts are likely to maintain a relative cost realtionship similar to today -- it costs more to operate a hotel-like resort such as BCV than an apartment-like resort such as OKW -- but, over time, the dollar amounts will be higher due to inflation.
