40% off select nights/resorts in 2007

Both. There are two codes. Both get you the same 40% off room.. one allows you to book as a package (everything is normal rates - tickets, dining etc) .. the other is room only.

If you read the threads.. one of the posters has a link to her blog.. which lists both codes -- you can try.

NO GUARANTEES.

Ohhhh. I see. That explains it! I didn't know there are two codes! I only saw one! That clears up the mystery! I really only want room only. I did see the code in the link, but only one. I wonder if I was looking at the right blog? If anyone knows the blog that has both could you pm me that blog location or the room only code? I'd really appreciate it!

I understand there are no guarantees. I'd just like to give it a try.

I called this afternoon & got it!! I couldn't believe it!! I just said that I was planning a trip in September & wondering if there were any pins with my name. The very nice CM said, no, but I have a code that I could try. Ended up being the forbidden code!

My first choice was CSR, but then he mentioned the AKL prices & decided to go that route! Very excited!!

Yes one code allows you to book as a package, but it gives the 40% off the room portion of the package...rack rate for everything else.

I just got off the phone with a CM and she told me....that in no way Could I use the code becuase it was associated with a pin number and only for that persons household.

It's not YOU that can't get the discount. It is YOUR DATES. You have to check in AFTER August 21 to be eligible. Try again if you can switch your vacation dates.

I understand what you are saying, and our dates aren't flexible due to school starting, but four of the seven nights did fall in the discounted period, and I was quoted rack rates all the way; wasn't offered a discount for even a portoin of the trip. Conversely, when I called the Dolphin the discount wasn't available for our first night, but they gave it to us the other six, and didn't require any hoop-jumping, like two seperate bookings. It's a moot point now anyway, we've booked the Dolphin with a very good discounted rate. Thanks for everyone's help.

I so understand about not being able to move the dates. Our schools start the 21 so I couldn't use that time frame either.

But hey, I hear the Swan & Dolphin are great places to stay. Have an awesome time!!:thumbsup2

It doesn't matter how many days fall into the discounted period. If your check in date falls before that period, that is the price you'll pay for the entire stay. Swan & Dolphin have more flexibility with applying discounts to certain dates because they are not actually operated/managed by Disney.

:yay: Thanks to Lucincia and her blog link with the code! My upcoming April trip dates wouldn't work with the code, so I thought I would check out another trip in October... I just got off the phone with a DW CM and I was fortunate enough to book dates in October at GF using the code!! The CM didn't ask me anything about how I received the code, she just took it from me and applied it! Whoooo hooooo!!! The DW website quoted me $5293.82 for seven nights at GF, MK view, MYW with Dining and 8 day PH tickets for my DH and I. Using the code we got the same package for $3608.64 - saving $1685.00!!! Thanks to everyone on Disboards for speading the news about this code!! For those of you thinking of trying the code, TRY!!! You never know until you try!!

That is Great!!! Just curious did you ask them directly if you had any discounts associated with your name or address? I have seen quite a few people who have been able to use the code only to write back and say they got their postcard or email. Just curious!

Great savings for you! And I want a husband that will let me book a GF MK VIEW! We are lucky enough to have gotten the great rate on GF in November, but he won't let me upgrade to the MK View! Grumpy!:upsidedow

Log into My Disney Vacation on the website and it should be there. Mine showed up minutes after I booked it...
Thanks for the advice,I was checking the website at the same time you posted your reply. It is in there is as 2,290.91 for 6 nights Poly GV CL, dining and a 1 day ticket. That is over $1,100 savings I never thought I would be able to stay Poly CL.I can't wait till December.

OK, I have asked this already once, but going to ask again. I booked with AAA and it is paid in full! Would I be able to give her this code and get it applied and recieve a refund? Or does it have to be with DISNEY only.

Just an FYI, you can't apply two discounts to one ressie. So if you got a discount through AAA, you cannot use the 40% offer on top of that. You have to choose one or the other.

Cmbar - All I did was call up and ask for a room at the GF for 7 nights begining on 10/24 and that I had a rate code - Could she please check what the rate would be using the code for those dates. (Before I called, I made sure my dates fell within the dates the code was being offered). That's all I did, my wonderful CM did the rest - she offered me either a Lagoon View or MK view. And, yes.... I do have a FABULOUS husband! (He is just happy we are getting a discount on the MK view - we're going in April with only a AAA discount! How could he say no to me "saving him" $1600?!?!? Haha!!) Enjoy your November trip!

It's been over twenty years since I was last at WDW. Shoot me, I know! :sad2:

Excuse my "newbiness", but can someone please explain how the PIN codes work? We've been on two DCL cruises in the last 16 months, and are looking forward to seeing the World in '08.

Much obliged. :thumbsup2

Mom of 3 - this is exactly what happened to me when I called today. My cm was nice and seemed like she knew what she was doing. I'm not entirely sure what is happening. I think some cm's are following the rules and checking for a pin. Others are just taking the code.

I just have to believe there is something better in store for those of us who did not get the code!

I put this on another thread, so I'll just copy and paste it here.

Pin codes are special offers sent out to people via email or snail mail (usually in the form of a large postcard). It will state exactly what the offer is, when the offer is good, and will also display a series of numbers that is the actual pin code. When you call to make a reservation, you refer to this pin code to get the discount (provided the rooms are available). Pin codes are attached to specific households, so if I got a pin code, I could not give it to you, for example.

There really isn't a rhyme or reason for determining who gets a pin code. Some people have guessed it's a matter of how often (or how little) you go to WDW (though people in both categories have or haven't received codes regardless of the number of times they've visited), some have guessed it's about geographical location, and other have guessed all kinds of various demographics. But really, we don't know. Your best bet is to register with disney.com and hope you get a code.

One more question...

Do you have to be a previous guest at WDW to get a code? Or will signing up on Disney's site throw my name in the hat?
