Three Things...Gratitude Thread

I'm going to mix and match topics in my own answer -

I'm grateful for my uncle (actually DH's uncle) who lives in Oregon. He is really smart and cool to talk to, and he gets back here to visit quite often.

What I'm grateful for about spring the season is a little more sunshine each day, and pretty flowers.

And the springy item I'm grateful for is Slinkies:

I have been to Oregon several times, mostly just over the CA/OR border. Lots of trees and green

Spring, as I have shared, for Easter is my very favorite season. Christmas is my favorite time of year if this makes sense, I hope. Renewal, rejuvenation, and by my faith, rejoicing in God in a very personal way that includes rebirth in starting fresher.

Pink and green, two of my very favorite colors, are springy.

Good Sunday Morning

#1 - THE GARAGE DOOR SPRING - You don’t know grateful you are for that spring until it breaks, and then the garage door doesn’t open.

#2 - JUMPY SEAT FOR BABY - I had this jumpy seat that had a big spring on it. I hooked it up to the door frame and my girls little legs would touch the floor and they’d jump jump jump. They loved that thing and it wore them out and made then tired, which was kinda nice for me. I put them in there starting around 10 months old.

#3 - THIS GUY - My favorite character to take pictures with at WDW. He’s also my favorite character in the 100 acre woods.

PollyannaMom- I was thinking Slinky too! I spent hours playing with that when I was a kid.

1. Springing Forward- daylight always makes me feel better. I LOVE the long days of summer.

2. Spring is my second favorite season. The vegetation starts to wake and renew. The first of the flowers start to pop up- the Crocus- and the grass starts to get green again. It's renewal which rejuvenates me.

3. Slinky Dog Dash! I love that silly coaster. I have to ride it every trip!

Saturday- underappreciated things
Those little rubber things that you open up jars with
I’ll second stepstools step ladders and ladders there are a godsend when you’re short I have I have a little mini step letters and just about every room in my house you may think well that’s ridiculous and I’m gonna sit here and say no it’s not when you’re short you don’t feel like going to dragging ladders around it’s much easier just going to closet pop one out and take care of whatever you need to take care of instead of having to go find one and drag it to where you need it to be
Pliers do you know how many times to do I use a pair of pliers you don’t but I do and it’s a lot because again if I can’t get it open with a little rubber thing I gotta go get the pliers
Those plastic bucket you buy from Home Depot or Lowe’s and I’ll put in the same category laundry baskets I find 1000 uses for these things and I’ll add one more thing to the same category for the same reason rugs like little throw rugs because when I get done loading up the laundry basket it’s usually too heavy and I can’t love heavy things you flip over a throw rug and now I can drag that laundry basket or that bucket wherever I needed to go because it’ll glide across the floor on that rug because I cannot lift heavy things but there are times I need to move heavy things and this is how I do it

Spring :
SUNSHINE - when is sunshine it’s no longer dark when you get up and it’s no longer dark at 4 o’clock in the evening which is really not evening it’s afternoon this makes me so happy I get so depressed when we have to set the clocks back and we have to live in darkness and they don’t have sunshine

It is gonna start warming up that winter is over or at least it should be hopefully

We can all start having beautiful flowers baby animals and addressing our sloppy muddy yards so that we have beautiful green grass so those obnoxious deer can start showing up with their beautiful little babies !!! since my yard looks so bad they probably won’t be in my yard right now because I’ve got nothing but Mudd

Warm weather !!! my most favorite thing about spring !!! the trees will start budding everything comes alive it’s just so pretty when the trees start budding and blossoming sure it’s torture on the allergies but it’s just so pretty!!!

Evening all,

Our daylight saving time isn't until the last Sunday of the month!

1. Lighter & brighter - spring to me means the start of much lighter and brighter weather, and in general just makes me feel so much better.

2. Car suspension - be horrible driving round without it.

3. Toaster - a toaster wouldn't be the same without the springs in them to help your toast (or hot cross buns for me currently) pop up.

Oregon invented the maraschino cherry and to this day still use the 100 year old system available for viewing by the public....huh outside the fence...in 1969 in order to earn money to move out of the migrant farm camp I missed school for a few days to pick the but they were not this color

Oregon State University where the Polio vaccine was invented and OSU freshman writing teacher Bernard malumad wrote the novel The Natural..where tiger woods does fail...but who what to see that's movie so Robert Redford had Roy Hobbs win

Donald Duck as Oregon University mascot is the only licensed Disney outside of Disneyland complex other than Marceline elementary school

AND the waffle iron....who knew....that everyone in the world runs into Oregon history everyday

Springy things...

Trampolines. I used one for indoor jogging for quite a while. It was good exercise and fairly gentle on my joints.

Tiggers, of course! Their bottoms are made out of springs!

Pretty soon the spring bulbs will start coming up. [Actually, this isn't really true as there is still a couple of feet of snow standing in my garden, but a girl can hope!]

Never been to Oregon (but want to) and I’m not a fan of springing forward. I fall back much better

Bib belt holders- First of three races today and we use bib belts to save our clothes from safety pin or clip holes. The holder pieces to keep the bibs in place are these little spring mounted toggles.

Necklace and bracelet catches- specifically the basic round ones and lobster claw catches involve an internal spring to open the catch to attach it to the bale or shank piece.

Clippers- I’m envisioning animal nail clippers. The tension to create the necessary pressure to cut hard nails is typically a spring in the mounting. I actually use one to cut wooden dowel rods for cake supports (not the same one as the dog’s).

Good Monday Morning

#1 - PIZZA - I’m always grateful for my Sunday pizza

#2 - TORTILLAS - I eat them throughout the week, because I make myself sandwich wraps for lunch

#3 - UNCRUSTABLES - I have no need to buy them now, but I was so grateful for them during DD22’s travel softball days. We ate soooo…..many of these. So convenient, so portable and so yummy. Whenever I see them in the store, they give me the best memories.
