40% off select nights/resorts in 2007

Thanks to those of you who looked this up for me,I thought it was a great deal. I will be glad when I can get confirmation on this because it does sound too good to be true.
Thanks again!!!!!!!
:)

Log into My Disney Vacation on the website and it should be there. Mine showed up minutes after I booked it...

I tried to use the code today, after reading these posts non stop for 3 days. Once I was convinced that enough people had used the code without the attached pin, I decided I had to at least try.

The CM I talked to was very straightforward. She told me the code existed, but had to be attached to a pin. My dates are 8/26 - 9/1. I did say my dates were flexible within a 2 week period. No go. The only pin on my name was for Jan/Feb.

I'm not terribly disappointed, because something seems wrong with this whole code thing. In my opinion the code should only work with a pin. I am happy for the people who didn't have the pin, but were able to use the code. I am really happy for the people who got the 40% pin or had it under their name in the system. It is great that some are able to take advantage of a discount or a possible loop hole? :confused3 in the system.

I don't plan to call back and try. Fortunately for me, I am only booking a value resort. The code would only give me another $100 savings over my AAA savings. I guess if I had my heart set on a deluxe, I would be more disappointed.

Good luck to all!

Would someone please PM me the code. I talked to Disney and was basically called a liar!
I said that "I would please like the 40% discount either applied to my room or a package with dining". The response was "Disney doesn't ever give discounts." I replied "What was the free dining promotion?" The CM's response, "That wasn't a discount,it was a promotion-discounts and promotions are different."

Is there a class for "Disney" language. I need one!

 I called twice this AM and was told by two different CMs that there are no discounts available to us. We were interested in the Poly Aug 18-25, and I simply REFUSE to pay rack rate when others are getting 40% discounts for the same week, same resort.

You better believe I'm bitter! I know our WDW vacations don't come close to some of the regulars on this board who go multiple times a year and stay in Deluxe resorts, but we spent our honeymoon at WDW in 1991, and have stayed at several other Disney resorts since. We tell our friends and family how much we love WDW, and we've convinced others to visit, and have also have taken people with us. We've NEVER been offered a discount, or even so much as a stinking room upgrade, so we've stopped staying at Disney resorts altogether. We absolutely LOVED staying on property, but we aren't going to give Disney any more of our $$ for a room when they don't appreciate or acknowlege our return business in any way whatsoever. We haven't stayed in a Disney-owned resort since 1999, and this kind of random "this person gets a discount, but that one doesn't" garbage is precisely why.

I know Disney is a huge corporation that couldn't care less if our family stays on-site or not, because there are countless others lining up to happily pay full price for their rooms, but the Disney magic is starting to fade for us, and this kind of stuff is a major contributing factor.

All travel destinations and most all businesses do this. The difference is you don't read it about on Net forums like this. I get special discount mailers all the time in the mail from different companies. Other people don't get them.

Hotels and resorts all over to the same thing. I understand you are upset and disappointed, but Disney is truly not any different in their marketing that many other companies and definitely not different from other travel destinations.

Just got off the phone with Cm...I politely asked if there were any discounts I was eligable for. I told her my dates were somewhat flexible, and
that my resort was flexible, but preferred to stay towards the "value" price range. She came back and quoted the rack rate for 9 nights at a value + 8 day base tix + dining. I mentioned that "my sister recieve a code, I think it had 2 Z's in it" went on to tell her the code and she applied it. It ended up only saving me $300. Wasn't really worth it for me, so I didn't book. Would have been nice for it to have been 40% off, but it wasn't.

The $300 is 40% off the room rate of a value. It's not 40% off the entire package, just the room. The savings are obviously much larger if you are booking a deluxe.

I tried yesterday with THE code and got all the way to actually booking and the CM asked for the PIN. She told me that their quality review dept were reviewing the reservations and matching them up to PINs that were sent and those that did not match would get a call or a letter and their reservations would be cancelled or charged at the rack rate. This may be true or not but I did the math and the poly package with the code will be the exact same price as it will be when they offer free dining(all the CMs said it was coming). I decided to stay honest and not have to worry about being caught. I will just be patient and wait a month or two. I can always book POFQ AAA package for a little less and still have a good time in the land of the Mouse.

FYI - The Swan and Dolphin have a special rate of $125 a night available from Aug 5 - Sept 15. You must book by Feb 15th. You can get more info by calling them at 1-888-828-8850 and ask for special SD125:) This might be an alternative for you if you can't get the Disney Code Rate since your dates fall within that time frame.

Thank you!!! I just called the Dolphin and booked two rooms at this rate.

The lady I spoke with said Aug 18 was not covered by the SD125 discount, but I was able to get the 18th for $199 and $125 for the other nights (standard view). She was also able to confirm connecting non-smoking rooms. We LOVE the Dolphin, and will be thrilled to stay there again. Thanks again!!!!

Has anyone been able to get their DU agent or other TA to do this for them? I would think if it truly is a public code then an agent could book it as well....

Ok, just called back with a November 3rd check in. NO go. LOL The CM said "reregister on disneys website" and i should get an email pin soon. LOL he was so postive and optimistic. hehehe

Have you received a pin, yet? I regristed too. Maybe it will help.

:thumbsup2 You're Welcome - I had also called Disney to see if we had a pin attached to our name but we didn't so we booked a room too at that rate for Aug 29- Sept 3. We have stayed at the Dolphin once and loved it so this time we are going to try the Swan - $125 is a great price for these two. Have a great trip!!:)

I called this morning, twice. No luck for us. My dates were flexible and I told them so. Rack all the way. I refuse to pay that, never have and never will.

I received one of those promotional cards in the mail today so my discounted package was definately legitimate...and it has a serial code on the outside.

Hope this helps some of the confusion.

To add...the "3 letter code" was not in the offer I received...only a serial pin. It had been mailed over a week ago because we moved and it showed up today as forwarded mail from my old address.

Seems like alot of ppl get the "pin" only after the book. How werid! Wonder if I'll get one too... maybe its all a plot by disney??

I just called and asked for the 40% off and was given it. It does have certain dates as we could not get our June dates but we got $59 at Pop in September for two nites before we check into our DVC.

Thanks, I was thinking more of a valu. Does anyone know if the code has worked on a valu resort? I would greatly appreciate it if someone would be able to pm me the code to try.

Yes you can use it at a value resort, but in all honesty, it might be a better savings to get free dining (if offered). You can always book this and if free dining comes out, just cancel this one and book that one.

I was told that the e-mails and pins were given to people who haven't visited in a while. To get them to come back. So if you haven't stayed there in so long ,you should be on that list.

That's not necessarily true. No one knows exactly how the pin codes are distributed except for the very people that configure the distribution for them. Your best bet is to register with disney.com and hope one gets sent to you. How do I know this? Because dh & have been going about once a year and yet in one of my email accounts, I get pin codes 3-5 times a year (most recently January 5th...and I was just there this past September). There are people I know who have only gone once and have never received a pin code. And vice versa of course. There appears to be no rhyme or reason to it.

Ok. Are you guys getting 40% off rooms only or 40% off packages? I've been reading this thread and I'm still confused!

TIA!

Both. There are two codes. Both get you the same 40% off room.. one allows you to book as a package (everything is normal rates - tickets, dining etc) .. the other is room only.

If you read the threads.. one of the posters has a link to her blog.. which lists both codes -- you can try.

NO GUARANTEES.

I posted a few thousand pages back that I was able to get the discount for our Sept trip. I used the code only, just called and gave it to the CM straight out. I then said I thought it was for 40% off rack rates. He booked it, no questions asked. I have since called back to make changes 3 other times incuding changing resorts, each with a diferent CM and each one reviewed my code and reconfirmed I was eligible for it. I never had a pin nor was I asked for one. I called the day before I booked this deal and asked if I had a pin and was told no...so I highly doubt I was issued one overnight, but who knows! All I know is I asked each CM a few times and they all reconfirmed that the code was valid for me. The last one I talked to even said to me, "I see you have a special code in here". :confused3

Free dining would still be a better deal for us, but only by about $100, so I am glad I have this just in case. We would have never booked a moderate resort wihtout a good discount. We are too cheap :lmao:
