4/15/2007 Anyone?

How much do y'all typically tip the porters when they take your bags from your vehicle at check in and then again after the cruise....a couple of dollars a bag or a nice round figure?

ED & Sharon,
Thanks for the suggestions. Think we'll wing it and see where we end up. We have hopper plus passes, so admission is not an issue. I would love to do the water park, but don't think we'll have enough time. Our flight gets in around 11, by the time we pick up rental car, thinking we'll be in DTD around 12:30. We may just hang out at DTD and then head down to port. The only problem with too much time in DTD is the shopping temptation :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Looking forward to meeting you all!!

Sue

So how do you think the water will be on CastAway Cay? On the main board someone posted that the water is 75 degrees right now,do you think that sounds accurate?

From the NOAA page that person posted, that looks about right. That is a little warm for this time of year, but it was a mild winter.

Unless they're big and heavy, usually two dollars per bag. If they help you get your bags across the street to the parking lot (after the cruise), then I would give them more because they are spending time with you when they could be getting tips from someone else.

Hopefully, everyone has already done this. However.........

As I'm sitting here filling out the estimated tax vouchers for the first quarter, it occurred to me just to remind everyone to have your taxes sent in before you leave home (not you AussieFan). Somehow, I don't think the IRS will take "being on a cruise out of the country" as an excuse.

We drove up to the curb last time and had 3 suitcases and 3 backpacks, I only gave him $5. When we disembarked, same number of bags but I gave the porter $20 because he helped us through custom and to the Budget shuttle spot.

I've been so busy all day, I haven't been to the boards. I've printed out the booklets, made name tags for everyone, made thank you cards to put in with tips and made another door sign, besides everything else I printed in the last week! My printer has been busy! ;) I love all this planning!!!

I finally started putting some clothes together to pack. I'll do most of it on Friday though. I am a last minute packer. DH probably won't pack until Saturday morning!:scared1:

Tomorrow, I get my hair cut & colored. Maybe I'll color it lime green! :rotfl2: Friday is nail day - they do have lime green nail polish! :lmao: My family thinks I'm obsessed with this trip and these boards. I don't know what they're talking about.:rolleyes1

I hope the weather holds out for us on Sunday. It's too crowded for an indoor sail-away party! But, at least we'll be sailing, so I won't complain.:thumbsup2

I can't believe we leave in 3 days! :woohoo:

See you all on Sunday!!!:woohoo: Have a safe and uneventful trip to FL. pixiedust:

OMG ... I can't believe it's practically HERE  My day today at the office will be filled with all the last minute "stuff" and clean up/off of my desk. I've already dropped dog #1 at the "spa", dog #2 will be headed off to BIL's house this evening. Arrangements have been made for cats to be fed/watered/and checked on, lizard will receive his crickets  and the hamster will be delivered to his "handlers" this evening.

I think I'm done with the gazillion trips to various stores to get those last minute items. Kids are packed with the exception of jammies ... gotta remember jammies :rotfl2: I need to get my fingers and toes done at some point today, but most importantly I PRINTED OUR BOARDING PASSES :cool1: Boarding group A for my clan on both legs of our journey tomorrow.

Seems the weather forecast has changed a bit since last night here too. Still hoping for MORE RAIN and less snow :wizard:

I hope everyone has safe and uneventful travel and we'll see you all on SUNDAY :grouphug:

Ok y'all are just crazy. We've been packed since last weekend. :) I can't wait to go!

Of course, we are leaving Friday afternoon and plan to spend Saturday at Cocoa Beach. Looks like the weather will be perfect for it too.

I just hope my mom doesn't get to say "told you so" when we unpack on the cruise. Those clothes better not be all wrinkled after a week in the suitcases!! :)

Hi Jim. I'm glad you came out of hiding!:rotfl2:

Have you really been all packed? I can't get myself together to pack so early!

hey i just wanted to let you know that in epcot they have a penny making machine in nearly every country. my ds loved getting the different "pennies" from each country. we saved a bunch of money that way bc it only cost 51 cents a penny and we got a bunch of souveneirs for him. :thumbsup2 anyway i just eanted to let you know about it since it is your first time going.
also dont forget to ride the monorail if you get there early enough; daniel can ride up front and get a "captains" liscence. it is pretty cool. if you have any questions let me know i'll try to help:goodvibes

Kathy,
Thanks for the great tips at Epcot. Daniel's been collecting souvenir
pennies ever since he was little....so that would be PERFECT:thumbsup2

Thank you, all, for the advice, tips, and being EXCITED with me:banana:

Safe, safe travels and see you Sunday!

 I hope it's nice for a couple of weeks! Some DIS members will be at WDW for a few days to 2 weeks!

We got up early and printed out boarding passes for tomorrow morning (6:30am)! Some of us are packed and some not (DH!!:rotfl2: ).

It's going to snow here sometime this afternoon and they have forecasted a NorthEaster here on Sunday/Monday! We'll be in Bahamas! Yipeeee:cool1: :cool1:

See you all on Sunday!

Laurie & Gang

Just in case anyone is interested...... I just checked the DCL web site and it looks like there are a couple of cat 5 cabins still available on our cruise. They are almost all the way aft on the starboard side. Could be a slight chance to pay for an inexpensive upgrade at the port, if you're one of the first ones in the door Sunday morning.

They are forecasting cold rain/sleet for Marathon Monday, hope the runners are prepared!! :cold: We live right along the Marathon route and used to watch it every year!! :cheer2: :cheer2: Then we started traveling during April vacation and I really miss watching/cheering. One of the reason we travel during April vacation vs. February is so that I don't have to stress over weather :scared: and here we are, a storm in mid April :confused3

Boarding passes printed ready to go. Tomorrow this time were in the air on the way to Florida. Everyone safe travel and see you all Sunday.:cool1:
