4/15/2007 Anyone?

Good Morning,

We purposely have not traveled during February vacation for fear of the weather:rotfl: I cannot believe that for our April vacation (mid April no less) weather is an issue!!! Well we seem to have dodged the bullet of lots of snow today so we would all get out okay!!  We are leaving Sunday morning early flight which I believe we should be gone before the NOReaster blows in.:woohoo: :woohoo:

I still haven't packed, I took tomorrow off so that I can solely concentrate on packing while the girls are at school. Plus I am so done with work and need a vacation!

9:52 in Boston and no rain, snow or anything. I also have to laugh as I work for a Company that sponsors the Marathon and quite a few people volunteer for the Marathon, they are all bumming that it may be horrible weather and they will be out there standing in it....... while I am enjoying life drinking a Pina Colada!!:lmao: :lmao:

Safe Travels to All......See you Sunday!!!

It's been pouring here in CT all day, but thankfully no snow! I'm happy there is no snow in MA either. I guess you all dodged a bullet!:cheer2:

We'l my hair is not green, but I did get it colored today.:rotfl2: Now the packing begins.

For everyone flying out today and tomorrow, have a safe flight!:wizard:

What a wimpy storm!!! Here we are all worrying about nothing! My brother is a weatherman in Syracuse, NY. He gets all excited when a storm is coming. It's like Christmas or Easter to him! I think they all over react!

I still haven't packed a thing. I never have enough time. But I have time for the DIS boards!!
:rolleyes1

Well..... we didn't completely dodge it, but it could be a LOT worse! We've had sleet, snow and rain since about 11:00 this morning, and right now it's just rain. There's at least half an inch of slush on the streets and my driveway. With my luck, the temp will plummet and we'll have a skating rink! If I get a good running start down the hill we live on, then I could probably slide all the way to Boston! :lmao:

 I thought the chance of snow had passed! I didn't realize you had sleet. Have fun skating!:rotfl2:

Isn't it funny how the boards are starting to quiet down since many people have already started their trips down!!! :)

Yes, I'm jealous of the ones who have already left!. I finished packing a little bit ago. Now all I have to do is go to the office in the morning and pretend to work for about 6 hours until Tommy comes to pick me up but I'm sure I'll be checking the weather and the Dis! :surfweb: Fortunately I have plenty to do to keep me busy so the time should pass quickly.

Is anyone taking their laptop on the cruise? I am mostly to download my pictures off the camera although I don't think I'll be signing up for internet time. I may check in tomorrow night from the road or Saturday night from Cocoa Beach. We'll see....

It is quiet here. I wish we had left also. I'm ready to get this vacation started! I haven't packed yet. I expected to get most of it done today, but I never got around to it.

I am bringing my laptop on the trip to download pictures as well. I don't plan to pay to use the internet. I'm online too much at home, I need a vacation from all this surfing!:surfweb: :rotfl2: I may log on when I'm at OKW, but more likely, I'll just use it for pics and to make notes for my trip report. I actually already started writing it yesterday!:rolleyes1 I won't post it until we get back though.

I have one more day of school tomorrow and a track meet until around 6:00 or so. Then I will come home, finish our packing list, pack, and probably not fall asleep until 1 or 2 since I will be so excited!!!!

Working from home today, hoping to be done by noon, then off to get nails done. All electronics are charging right now, have packing lists ready and will start packing this afternoon. Not bringing laptop this time, have a small portable hard drive to download pictures. I'm so excited, can't wait tio get out of this gloomy weather! I need sunshine and warmth :goodvibes

Safe travels everyone, see you on Sunday! :cheer2: :cheer2:

I just went through my forms and realized I needed to change my credit card info on line since the one I set up for payment authorization is the one that was stolen! I'm glad I realized that before we left.

I also filled out the immigration forms, but I don't know what to put for intended stay since we aren't staying overnight. What did you all put there? What about City of travel agency? I put Port Canaveral and DCL as the travel agency. We had different forms when we sailed on the Magic, so I don't remember exactly how to fill them out. I did the online check in, so I don't need to fill out anything in the docs, right?:confused3

Scott, I'm already having trouble sleeping!:rolleyes1 I have so much to do before we leave that I can't relax. I keep thinking of more things I need to do.

I left the "intended stay" section empty as well. I thought it might be 2 days , since Castaway Cay is also in the Bahamas.

I haven't even looked at the Bahamas form, so I'm no help there. If you did the entire online check in process, all you need is the contract form and the credit card form, both of which have to be signed. When we went last November, they had CM's checking all your paperwork at the top of the escalators. Once they made sure everything was filled out correctly, they sent us over to the check in line.

It is definitely getting quiet on this thread, and will be a little quieter after we leave for the airport around 2:30 this afternoon.

I guess I really should go pack. Everything is laid out, just have to get it into the suitcases.

My understanding is that if you checked in and filled everything in online you just have one form to print and sign and take to the port. As for the immigration forms...we filled out section 1 and figured we would ask at the port when we get there. We plan to be at the port early anyway.

1 hour to departure! Woohoo!!

Jim

I'm glad you remembered about the credit card. Now Mickey won't have to make you walk the plank!

I put 1 night in the overnight stay box. It didn't even occur to me about Castaway Cay....although technically we don't stay docked overnight at either port we are in Bahamaian waters. I guess they can tell us at check in what it should be.

Is the luggage drop off area at the terminal covered? Weather doesn't looks too promising for Sunday morning.......

Sunday, Apr 15
High: 78 °F RealFeel®: 74 °F
Watch for strong thunderstorms in the morning; mostly cloudy with winds gusting to 40 mph

I forgot about Castaway Cay. I think I'll wait until the port for that also.

Sharon, I don't remember if the luggage drop off is covered, but I hope so! Maybe the thunderstorms will be in the very early morning before we all get to the port.:wizard:

Have a safe trip, Jim & Ed.pixiedust: I'll see you on Sunday!

As I recall, there is an awning/overhang over the luggage drop off. I think it is just over the sidewalk, not over where cars pull up. If you're taking a DCL bus, that area is covered. I think I'll throw an umbrella in the carry on.... could be a wet walk back to the terminal from the parking lot!
