3oth August 2007 wonder anyone going?

We're doing well, thanks, Pixie. Although, I'm really wishing we'd scheduled this trip earlier. I'm actually looking forward to the end of what promises to be a fine summer.

We've almost finished the trip scheduling, I just have to book the hotels down and back. Normally we'd wing it coming back, but it's Labour Day weekend (well, Labor Day until we cross the border) so I want to be sure we're not stuck.

Relaxation certainly sounds good on a stormy Tuesday afternoon. Almost a shame I have to work. Hey, maybe we should take a weather survey. Here it's 80ish(F), humid and stormy. What's it like where everyone else is?

Hi Mort, well it's still cold and wet here and the temperature is in the low 60's:scared1:
Good old british weather, roll on some of that Florida Sunshine:beach:
Anyway how's the final planning comeing along? We have paid for everything now:woohoo: and just need to sort out a couple of things, ie do we do a charactor meal or not.
What colour crocs are we going to get!!!
Oh well only another 5 weeks at school and then wev'e finished thank goodness. So it's just end of term shows, summer fetes, school camp and Our eldest daughters last assembly,(she is off to big school):scared:

Anyway take care and please send over some of that sunshine

Well it was low 80's and rainy yesterday (which was a blessing) and today is mid 80's and beautiful! :cool1: But it's supposed to really heat up by the weekend to the mid 90's as our little drought continues. :worried: But the kids seem to enjoy the sunny hot weather! :beach:

Still in school?! Oh my! :faint: ;) Is it year-round school?
I'm so thankful we're out for summer!!! :woohoo:
(But we do start back early August :sad2: )

YAY, I've finally found some other cruising when we are:banana: I was beginning to think we had the whole cruise to ourselves:sad2:

Well, introductions...

I'm Summer and I'm 26, Law Student and part time Secretary. Steven my fiance is 31, Warranty Administrator and Fiction writer.
Currently we are living in the UK but we intend to immigrate to Australia within 18 months.
This is our first trip to WDW and our first cruise. I have been to Disneyland twice and loved it:love: We are getting married at Walt Disney World at Sea Breeze Point. The link to my planning journal is in my sig:) We are honeymooning for 3 whole weeks and I'm so excited:woohoo: We have been waiting a long time for a vacation like this. We are staying at CBR, POFQ and AKL while at Disney then after the cruise we are moving on to Universal at The Crowne Plaza!
Currently living in the UK but we intend to immigrate to Australia within 18 months.
I would love to hear tips about the cruise, we intend to book Palo on our first night as I am under the impression that Tritons will be first and that menu doesn't really appeal as much as the others. As for excursions, I don't really know what we are doing yet.
It's great to see others finally, and another family from the UK!!!
I look forward to speaking with you all.

Hello All!! We are cruising with you guys too!!!

Our First - we are so excited (I think I'm the most excited)! Our 10 year anniversary is August 30th. We are going to Palos for an 8:30 dinner - can't wait!!!

another family from the UK!!!
Hi Summer:goodvibes Congratulations on your up and coming wedding:bride: pirate: (sorry couldn't find a groom!!)
Well it's good to know we have some fellow cruisers I was beggining to think we might have been in line for the Walt suite seeing there didn't seem to be many fellow passengers onboard.
Anyway I see you are from Scotland as you can see from my post we are from Cornwall (celtic connection eh!!)
Hubbie was Best man last year and Braved a kilt and attire. very smart I have to say and yes he went commando and yes he proved it to any one who asked him !! Will Steven be wearing a kilt??
Anyway have had a peak at your wedding journel and it all sounds magical I am so excited for you both.
You will love the cruise , this will be our 2nd one , we were hoping to do a longer one but Disney decided to come over to the med and it just didn't tie in with visiting our fav place.
Anyway keep in touch if we can help in any way let us know.
Cornish Pixie:goodvibes

My in-laws are from Scotland, and DH will probably be wearing his kilt. Maybe we should call this cruise "Men in Skirts"? ;)

So, we have an anniversary and a wedding celebration on this cruise. It's going to seem quite festive.

By the way, Summer congrats on the weight-loss. That's hard work. We've stayed at all 3 of your Disney resorts, you're going to have a great time. I can honestly say I plan to stay at each one of those again in the future. Of course, I've never stayed at a Disney resort I didn't like..

Thanks for the push, Pixie. My hotels down are booked, now I just need to consult with TWGH as to where he wishes to stop on the way back. Got your ADRs, yet?

Happy Solstice, everyone!

This is going to be one happy cruise with all these celebrations onboard:goodvibes

Well Steven is not wearing a kilt. Although we live in Scotland, I grew up in Australia and have an Italian background and as for Steven he grew up in Scotland but is not one for wearing traditional Scottish atire. Plus it is the height of summer and to be honest I wanted him to wear a suit, to which he had no objections:)

I am really looking forward to this cruise, I have been browsing the Cruise forums for months. I was wondering if anyone has any opinions on the trip to Atlantis, is it worth going? Part of me thinks it may be better to stay on the ship but we've never been to Nassau before and I'm always wanting to explore.

I have a question about Palo too, I've been trying to book it online but every time I go into the page it just goes back to the original page like I haven't done anything. Am I doing something wrong?

:) :) How funny, is it going to be us and all the UK people?? :) :) I love it!!

Hi Christine, hope it didn't sound like a U.K. invasion, didn't mean it too. It's just that there only seems a few of us that have cottoned on to the cruisecompared to all of you clever people:goodvibes
We to will be celebrating our Wedding Anniversary 14 years on the 21st of August:love: .
We have booked to go to the pirate and princess party on that date, so should be fun.
Anyway Hi and congrats on your Wedding Anniversary.

Hi Mort Happy Solstice.
My Family live in Salisbury not far from stonehenge so it will be really busy there today and over the weekend.
They have a big festival I believe.
Anyway glad you've sorted out all your accomodation I bet you can't wait.
Take care and speak soon
Cornish Pixie:goodvibes

We're going, too! For us, it's our 15th anniversary celebration (our actual anniversary is August 15th, but we couldn't get away until the end of August).

Even though we're celebrating an anniversary, we will have our two boys with us. We'll be at Palo on the second night, early seating, then we'll go to the Pirate party as a family.

This is our first cruise, too. We're Disney World veterans, so we're really looking forward to the cruise. I'm excited for Castaway Cay, but we're not so sure about what to do in Nassau.

Congratulations on all the weddings and anniversaries!

I finally managed to secure Palo, there was apparently a glitch in the system so Dreams Unlimited booked it for me. We are going the first night at 08.30pm, YAY, I'm so excited!!!
ksc37 - Congratulations on your 15th Anniversary, that's fantastic:woohoo: I'm beginning to think that this cruise is specifically for celebrations;) I'm struggling with what to do on Nassau as well, any ideas girls?

Mortlives - Thanks for the congrats on the weight loss, it hasn't been easy, I'll tell you. I used to be really slim, but student life and all that got the best of me I guess. The wedding is all the motivation I need, well that, and wanting to look good in a swimsuit:rotfl:

cornishpixie - Congratualtions on your 14th anniversary:woohoo: , one day after my wedding day:banana: Do you think the Pirates and Princess Party will be really good? I don't really know the first thing about it, would it be worth going to, I mean I'm thinking of buying tickets but I don't even know what it would be for.

cmcvean - congratulations on your 10th Anniversary :woohoo: I'm looking forward to the mix of nationalities on the cruise, a UK invasion is highly unlikely, like cornishpixie said, the Brits haven't cottoned on to the DCL yet...

Luv2Travel - Yay, for turning 40, you sound like you have a wonderful night planned! So the couples massage, I too have considered this, do you think it's worth it? Hmmm, I think I'll go have another look at what they have on offer.

Can someone tell me what time Pirates night is on the cruise? We have a late seating for all our meals, I really don't want to miss the Pirate Party:sad2: Is it also right that you can order 2 desserts if you like? Desserts are my weakness but they all look so good, I'm wondering how to choose:confused:

We also have Pirate and Princess Party tickets, although not for the same night as Cornish Pixie. It looks like it should be a lot of fun. I think we'll dress as pirates, since we'll have our gear for Pirate Night anyway. Truth to tell, we're not a very princessy family, but our car flies the Jolly Roger (a Calico Jack) 24-7-365. So any excuse to hoist the colours... pirate:

I can't remember what time the Pirates in the Caribbean party started, but we also had the late seating, and didn't arrive in time to get any kind of a decent vantage point, so you might want to skip dessert that night. There's a bit of a show in the restaurants as well, so you won't want to skip dinner entirely, I think.

Yes, you can have 2 desserts or even 2 entrees. You'll find the servers push the food. Our Oka seemed awfully disappointed if we didn't partake of each course.

Good Morning fellow cruisers :wave2:

Summer-Caitlin - your wedding and honeymoon sound INCREDIBLE!! I hope you'll post pictures after you return home!

To answer a few questions - we went to Atlantis last year (same time of year) and really enjoyed it. The resort has even opened up a new waterpark addition that looks awesome. If you keep a look out, you should be able to snag a really good room rate at either the Atlantis Resort or it's sister resort the Comfort Suites next door for around $120. When you book a room you're given a wrist-band that enables you to use all of the amenities of the resort (such as the waterpark, pools, beaches, aquarium, etc.)

Now after saying all of that, my DH and I will probably go into Nassau for about an hour to do a little shopping and then come back on board to enjoy the adult pool and spa. We won't be going back to the Atlantis Resort until our next cruise with the kids. It would be worth the trip to Atlantis if you want to see a beautiful resort and enjoy water activities, but staying on the ship is plenty for us on this short cruise.

I don't know if the couple message will be worth nearly $300 (including tip) or not, but neither my DH or I have ever had a message so we're going to give it a try. :thumbsup2

The Pirate party will be on the second night and will begin around 9:45 pm so that everyone should be finished with dinner by then. The fireworks and Mickey don't come out until after 10:00, so you shouldn't miss a thing.

On another note - I highly recommend the Princess & Pirate Party. I haven't been able to attend this one yet, but I'm sure it's very similar to WDW's Christmas and Halloween Parties that I have attended and they are a lot of fun! Special fireworks, special parade, and treasures to be found. pirate:

Hello Everyone! I'm getting so excited about this cruise, especially now that I found this thread!!!!

We were fortunate enough to get to go to the very first Pirate/Princess party back in January - it was a blast!! Even though the weather was a bit rainy and foggy (although made the pirate parade pretty cool!). We got tickets for the party on August 28th - we can't wait!!

Staying at the Nick Suites Monday - Thursday. The kids always want to stay there, but when we do the World we like to stay on-site and just do Disney, so they are really excited about the new hotel!

Summer-Caitlin: We will be having dinner at Palo the same time as you!!!

We have the late seating as well. We went on a cruise for our honeymoon and had the early seating and it really made us feel like we were rushing to get to dinner every night. I'm hoping the late one won't be too late for the kids.

So excited to "meet" you all!! Lots of things to celebrate on this cruise!!

Hi Fellow cruisers, Well I reckon if everyone else sailing on The WONDER are as friendly as you all we are going to be in for a great time:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes .
We would love to go to Palos but not sure how we would do it with having the girls ( I know there to young to dine with us ). I just think we will have to give it a miss untill we can cruise again on a longer trip.
Anyway will speak with you all soon,
Have a good day all of you
Cornish pixie:thumbsup2

cornish pixie - We are putting our girls in the club while we dine! Although if we have AP for dinner we will probably just skip Palos, or try to reschedule. What are the ages of your girls?? We will have our four with us!

It is so cool to see someone else's ticker with the same amount of time ticking!!!

Have a great weekend everyone!
