3oth August 2007 wonder anyone going?

The answer to that is ME. We are definately hanging out at the pool and exploring the ship on Nassau day and we are definately going to Serenity Bay at Castaway Cay. I so can't wait. I've decided I'm dressing up for Pirate night, mainly because my DF and I are going to The P&P Party on the 21st of Aug too, so I decided to buy a costume:banana:

Hi Caitlin see you at the pirate: princess: party on the 21st !!!! Thats the day of our wedding anniversary (if I have not told you before;)
Anyway look out for 2 girls with funky diva hairdoos and a mad women holding on to Cap'n Jack Sparrows legs and claiming her undieing love for him:rotfl2: (Hubbie knows so it's ok).
Anyway I see you got a reply regarding the debarkation question so will also see you there EARLY on sunday.
Anyway am just off to my eldests big school to have a look around and to oreder her new uniform for september so will speak later

Hello...today is my last day of class and then I can really start planning and packing for my trip. So far, I have registered my family on disneycruise.com, we decided against excursions since this is our first cruise and we want to explore the ship. We may rent something for the kids to float on in Castaway Bay. Did I read somewhere that you can board the ship at around noon? What time should we get to the port? We are renting a car for the parks...be there for 8 days prior to cruise and then we are dropping it off at Budget and then getting the shuttle over to the port and after cruise renting a car for one day to get us back to the airport. It was about the same price as paying for the transfers. Budget is located near the port.

Here are a few more ?'s-

I have read conflicting reports as to what to wear for dinner? Can my son wear longer kahki shorts with a nice polo shirt or does he need to wear pants?

Also...I read that once your trip is paid for that you can start putting money into your on board account. Where do I do this?

Is Palos a must do? With the dinner rotation, how do I fit in it?

Thanks-
Tammi :coffee: off to school!!!

Good Morning Ladies

tamman - Welcome to this thread, as you can see we are all really friendly here, I'm a newbie too when it comes to cruising but I've found out loads on this board! So you'll be celebrating too then, what are we gonna do with all these celebrations on board?

Luv2Travel - Awww, I hope we will meet too:flower3: As for my accent, it's very weird...I grew up in Australia and lived in Malta for 2 years after that and have stayed in Scotland for a while. We are moving back to Austalia next year:banana: So as you can probably tell, my accent is mixed:lmao: My new hubbie and I will be wearing Pirate gear, me in full costume and Steven, well I'll see what I can convince him to wear;)

cornish pixie - Hmm, that would be a sight to see at MK, although I think there will be many women trying to do the same thing as you, you'll just have to fight them off eh? No one can compete with a Brit on a mission:laughing:

Btw do you know about the form I was talking about earlier, I think it's an I-94, is that the form we fill out on the plane?

So I hope you are all doing well, I am still frantically trying to organise my ADR's after having to rearrange them for the P&P Party, I'm down to 7 weeks before I leave, AAAHHHH, where did all the time go?:headache:

Tamman: Oh, no! A dress code question! Just kidding, but that is the focus of much debate. Disney requests that you not wear shorts in the dining rooms at dinner, but I'm not sure they say anything, especially to children.

As far as when to get to the port, last time we got there around 10:30. That seemed good. there was some wait before they opened the ship for boarding, but we didn't have any really long lines to contend with.

To put money onto your account, try giving DCL a call. They're very helpful.

As someone who hasn't been to Palo's and didn't book it again this time, I have to say it's not a must for us. However, other's rave about it. If you're looking for a romantic evening without children, it would be the way to go, but since there are only 3 nights, and 3 regular restaurants, you might want to take the "Double Dip" option, and either go there for dinner, and hit your rotation restaurant for dessert, or vice versa.

Good morning, everyone. I just thought I'd share this humour with you. Yesterday, I got a DCL envelope in the mail, and I figured it would be some sort of acknowledgement of being paid in full. Instead, it was a reminder that my payment was due 2 weeks ago. Printed June 1st, sent priority airmail. From NY. I have to wonder what airports they were using that it took a month... :lmao:

Wow, it just kills me to read that some of you are just now getting out of school! I would die if we had to go into June to finish school. Of course we start back August 9. :scared1: So I guess it's all in what you're used to. ;) :goodvibes If it were up to me, our school system would be starting back the second week of September and getting out the third week of May! (But nobody asked me. :confused3 ) :rotfl2:

Anyhoo, yes, they will begin calling numbers to board between 11:30 and 12:00. You can arrive to the terminal around 10:30 am (some say earlier, but we couldn't park before then).

Your DS10 should be okay in nice khaki shorts and a polo. I did put my DS12 and DS10 in khaki pants and a polo, but I was all about getting some dressy family pictures. I don't recall seeing very many in shorts, but I'm sure they're were some there.

Not sure if you can add money to your account online or not. I know you can make a payment online if you go to "My Cruise." But I do know that you can call DCL and add it to your account.

About Palo's - that was probably my only "disappointment" on our cruise. I didn't think it was "all that" as I had read here on the boards. We did a brunch because I didn't want to miss any of our rotational meals either, but they don't have a brunch on the 3 night. We are doing Palo's on this cruise, but only because I'm a TA and I want to be able to tell my clients about it. Also because we won't have children on this cruise, so it'll be a lot easier to do.

That's exactly why I would love to hear it! I LOVE to hear Australian and British accents, and I can only imagine what you must sound like with a little Scottish thrown in there. :goodvibes

Good Morning Mort! :wave2: Totally agree with you on the Palo thing. :surfweb:

I'm really looking forward to Palo, we're going on the first night and hoping that we miss Tritons as it's the menu we find the least appealing. Although are we able to go there for breakfast or lunch? also can we go for lunch at any time?

I don't mean to bash Palo's , I am looking forward to it too. I just mean to say that on such a short cruise I wouldn't feel bad if it can't be fit in. :) I think a reason that I may not have been so impressed is that our server was not all that great. I think with a good server that knows what to recommend Palo's would have been even better.

We're skipping Triton's also. I enjoyed eating there last time, but I must agree Triton's has the least appealing menu to me also. You can have breakfast (from about 8 to 9:30 am) and lunch (from about noon to 1:30 pm) in Triton's, which sounds like a plan to me. :thumbsup2

You don't have to go at a certain time though do you for breakfast and lunch? i.e like Dinner? The desserts at Palo, now they look very appealing:cloud9:

you're correct, you can go anytime during the open hours for breakfast and lunch. :thumbsup2
Yes, I'm all about the desserts too! :goodvibes

Hi ladies how are you all today?
Well we finally have some sunshine today at long last.
Caitlin I think the form you are talking about is the one we get on the plane, but I will ask hubbie just to double check.
Hi Mort hows the planning coming along and what e-mail countdown did you have today (I remember you saying that you send your hubbie a countdown thinghy am I right or am I going mad:crazy: )
Tammi it's good to get there early as you can have a look around and get some great pics it just adds to the whole excitement i think.
We will not be going to Palos as much as we would love to. It's just that I can't bear to miss any of the restaurants I know we could do both at a push but Im not sure how it would work so again we will be missing that experience but one day we will make it Im sure:goodvibes .
One of the things Im looking forward to is the Kona cafe at the adult pool ( not sure if I've got the exact name but Im sure you will know what I mean)
They do wicked coffe, latte's mocha whataeveryoulikeas!!!:coffee: and there so yummy I can feel the pounds going on just thinking about them.
Anyway hope you are all keeping well will speak with you all later

Wow...thanks for all the advice!!! Since this is our first cruise, I may just skip Palos. Besides, I am not much into the romance thing lately...I'm too hyper to just sit and relax and stare into my hubby's eyes and think loving thoughts:rotfl: Just kidding!!! Life seems to evolve around the kids now!!!
Luv2Travel (Jessica), I actually got out of school on June 13th. This week I am taking a class for my certificate renewal. Here in Michigan, you have to take 6 grad credits every five years to keep your certificate valid, so that is why I am in school this week...but I am done now:cool1:

So, do they have photographers that take pictures at certain areas on the ship and just not with characters??? If so, then maybe I should have my son get a little more dressed up. A nice family picture (with me in it) would be awesome.

If we leave CRB at 9:30...that should be enough time to get to the ports. What time do they stop boarding. I had this awful dream that we were stuck in traffic and almost missed the cruise:eek:

Hi, If my memory serves me well they do take pictures without charactors.
There done with a white backdrop and I think a backdrop with a picture of the ship with a life ring, yep sounds like I've lost the plot again I know!!!!:rotfl: Anyway I have seen some and they are really nice .
Don't worry about missing the ship I'm sure theres enough of us here on this thread that can keep the captain chatting untill you arrive:goodvibes
Hope your renewal went well I work in a school and I think things are done a bit differently out here, but we do have to keep up with the constant change in our education system.
Anyway speak later take care

Our lives revolving around the kids is EXACTLY why we've made plans to go to Palo. They're very excited about spending time in the Oceaneer's club, so we're excited for a quiet dinner alone! We made an early reservation for Pirate Night (no, we won't be dressed as pirates at Palo ;) ), so we'll be skipping our rotational restaurant. I think if it's the same night as our Artist Palette reservation, we'll cancel or change it.

The one thing we're not sure about is going to a show one evening. I think we might do one. For you experienced travelers, is there one that you'd recommend, especially for two young boys?

Thanks!

Good morning, everyone.

Pixie, I didn't send a picture yesterday, because I took a vacation day for DS's birthday. The day before, I sent DH a picture of him and DS in front of the Tower of Terror. We're about at Sunday in our countdown, and I have the Fantasmic dinner package booked for that night. Planning's just about done. I'm waiting a little on booking our hotel room for the way back, and I can't order our TripTik until 2 weeks out. I know I can print one from the web, but it doesn't have the information I'm most fond of from the office version - the estimated drive times, the area info and city descriptions, and the toll amounts.

Karen, we enjoyed all the shows on the Magic, but I think the Wonder is still showing Hercules, which we haven't seen, but might be the best with young boys. We're looking forward to it. On the Magic, the best show for us was Twice Charmed, but I don't think that's on the Wonder.

I know I'm in the minority, but I'm looking forward to Triton's. I'm quite fond of duck.

Here is one of my favorite pictures taken by Shutters. I don't think we wore these clothes to dinner though (I think the boys threw on khaki pants and my daughter put on khaki capris). I used this picture for my Christmas Cards. :goodvibes

You'll have plenty of time if you leave CBR by 9:30. I believe "all aboard" is by 3:45 pm.

I agree with Mort, my boys (and I) enjoyed Hercules the best (the first night show). IF I HAD to pick one to skip, I would probably skip the Golden Mickeys (I believe that's on the second night). My boys enjoyed it the least, but they still liked it.
