I want to start out by saying that I have a DD(5). We always bring our own stroller (except the time we forgot it and had to rent one). The past 6 months or so, she has really ridden in it, we still bring it into the park and park it somewhere in case we do need it.
We were looking at some pictures from Disney trips I made as a child in the 70's. I had a stroller when I was 2 on our first trip, but never saw own after that. Also, when you look at the background the children that are in the strollers are ALL very young (like under 2). I guess it was expected then that if you could walk...then you walk. Did we get tired? YES!! To this day I never remember being so beat as when I was a 5yo waiting for the tram at midnight after being in the park all day. I think I may have actually fell asleep standing up! But I lived, and so did my parents.
I think our country has become super lazy (me included). Maybe this is a way for Disney to phase out the strollers as a pp mentioned. They already are forcing us to eat healthier...maybe they want us to excercise too?!
