3 days at Busch Gardens Williamsburg too much?

We are thinking about a trip to busch gardens in july, but I am wondering are 3 days at busch gardens too much? It looks like we would get board by the second day with the lack of rides and shows. We haven't been there, so are three days too much in your opinion?

We were also planning 2 days at water country usa, is that too much in your opinion?

I am not sure whether I am overestimating days needed for those parks or underestimating?

We're pass holders to both. We typically spend around 8 days at BGW and 2 at WC during a summer. Not sure what rides your family would do or not; DD9 rides everything while DH, DD4, and I stick to family friendly and shows.

We spend many days at BGW over the course of the summer, but IMO 3 days in one week may be too much. You can see everything in 2 days and ride some of the headliners more than once. As for WC, this is by far my favorite water park (even over the Disney parks). I could stay in the hubba hubba highway for at least half of each day. I do not think you will regret spending 2 days there.

My family spends 3-4 days at Busch Gardens and 1-2 days at Water Country USA each summer vacation. We like to see everything once, and revisit our favorite rides and shows two or three times during our visits. We also like to enjoy all the restaurants and foods they have to offer which is something you couldn't do in a day or two. I definitely don't think three days is too much.

What's Hubba hubba highway? Is that a lazy river? We loved the lazy river at Acquatica. Does Water Country have a good lazy river?

Yeah thats why I thought 3 days is perfect because, I'd like to ride and see everything, and probably all the coasters at least 3 times, and maybe see my favorite other rides and shows the third day as well.

For Water Country USA I was thinking to spend probably 2 hours on average in the wave pool and lazy river (not all at one time) and the rides look so cool.

And how's the food in each country compared to epcot at disney?

It is a lazy river yeah, but also does it push you all the way like roa rapids at aquatica in orlando?

Epcot has more variety in the CS restaurants. Quality wise I would say about equal.

3 days at BG is more than enough. 2 days at WC will kill your feet, though.:P

Hubba Hubba Highway is a non-lazy lazy river. It's very hard to stop moving.:)

Hubba Hubba Highway is a fast moving river just like the one at Aquatica. You wear a life jacket and float in the water. It is difficult to stop yourself. Life jackets are not required, but they make the experience much more fun in my opinion, because you can easily float and enjoy the speed of the river. Most people wear life jackets. Those who don't are typically young teens who think they're too cool, lol. Water Country USA also has a more tradtional lazy river in which you float along in tubes slowly more slowly. There are single and double tubes and tubes are required. I love both rivers, one is exciting and one is relaxing.

To those who say three days at Busch Gardens is "more than enough," I wonder if you visit parks differently than my family does. I think three day is perfect, and I often use four days, to thoroughly enjoy every aspect of the park at a relaxing pace. Yes, you could enjoy the major rides in a day or two, but to repeat favorite attractions and enjoy the shows, shops, restaurants, and soak in the atmosphere, I think three days is ideal.

To the poster who said they wanted to spend two hours each in Water Country's wave pool and river, you will definitely need more than one day at Water Country if you want to enjoy all the other attractions as well. Many of the slides will often have lines from 15-20 minutes to 30 minutes or even 45-60 minutes for a couple of them. We usually hit the slides with long lines once, the slides with shorter lines twice, and spend approximately 30 minutes each in the wave pool and the two rivers, and that takes up a full day. There is also a show featuring divers and gymnasts that is well worth seeing.

As for the food, I think the food at Busch Gardens is excellent. It's a mix of food inspired by the countries of the park and American food, but all of it is of better quality than typical theme park food. I's say it is on par with the food at counter service restaurants at Epcot, but there are more American style choices. Grogan's Grille in Ireland, Trapper's Smokehouse in New France, Restorante della Piazza in Italy, and Festhaus in Germany are the largest restaurants that offer the best food choices. Festhaus has a separate line for "German food" and another line for pizza and burgers. Water Country has excellent food compared to most theme parks. Besides typical pizza and burgers at one restaurant, another offers many different deli sandwiches with sides such as pasta or potato salad and another has wraps and hot sandwiches such as grilled chicken cheese steak with peppers and onions that is very good. You can find menus on the park's website.

^Lol, I said 'more than enough' because EVERYONE that I've been to BG with is 'sick of it' after a couple visits. My dad, my sis, my friend... I thought I was the only one who would want to do weird things like, say, ride Apollo's Chariot 10 times in a row; spend about 15 minutes eating lunch and that is it; marathon a spin-y ride till I'm dizzy; and other things of that sort. (None of which I have been able to do.:P)

If you are spending at least three days total between the two parks, it will be the most cost effective for you to get the Super Grover passes at Sesame Place (if you think you will go there) or get Season's Passes at BG/WC. We are from the Philadelphia area, live in NC now, and have used our annual passes to go to Sesame, the FL parks, and several times a summer BG and WC in Williamsburg. Our favorite is WC because the kids love the water rides - 2 days there is fine. July is very busy. I wouldn't do more than 2 days at BG, personally. 3 days would be too much for us. It's a beautiful park, but not huge. However, Williamsburg is a great area and there are other things to see and do, so you can always check out some of the area attractions if you find you need a break or have extra time.
