2014 Christmas Gift idea list for TEEN GIRLS

Here is my list so far: I have a 12 (almost 13)year old DD- not into clothes at all or reading. Im trying to stay at $250 per kid. She has an iPad mini and a phone so no big electronic gifts (whew)

lava lamp
jamberry nail sets
beginning makeup- going to look for the Ultra lipgloss set and some mascara
vera bradley lunchbox to match her book bag
a few craft sets from Hobby Lobby (I can use the 40% off coupons) and she will have something to "play with" on Christmas day
Maybe a lego set she likes those
gift card to starbucks and claires

stocking- her favorite candy and ????

It is really hard because I know she still wants something to "play" but at the same time is wanting more mature items.

I thought about sending her to her grandmothers for a few days right before Christmas and redoing her room.

What kind of craft sets? My DD might be interested.

I haven't decided yet but I know that my Hobby Lobby has a big variety. There are duct tape crafts, headbands, friendship braclets, make your own chandelier.

I just try to pick something that I think she will like- she does like to draw. In the past I've picked up "model fashion books" that have plastic outlines that you trace clothing onto predrawn dolls and then you color the clothes.

You could probably browse at their website online to get some ideas.

Thanks! Good ideas!

Question on the Wreck This Journals: I am totally getting one for my 15 year old niece, they look awesome. I want to get her something to go with it...colored pencils, sharpies, something else? What would a good companion gift be for it? (I don't have the journal yet so not sure of what would be best to go with it)

A HA! I get it now! THANK YOU!!! I kept thinking she meant those lycra leggings which do not look warm enough. These look perfect! THANKS!

I purchased The North Face fitted ski pants at Marshall's last year. I am not positive that is what she means but mine look very similar to the ones in the link. I paid about $100.

I got a set of 25(?) Sharpies at Walmart during Black Friday for about $8. That's what my daughter uses. They kinda bleed through a little. Pencils would work too but just not as bright.

Also, there are some videos on You Tube of kids showing their journals. Kinda interesting. Gave my daughter a few ideas and a better understanding of what to do. This seems to be very popular in the UK.

I love this thread every year --- I get some great ideas!!!

Last year, I bought my DD a guitar pick punch and it was a huge hit. I had never even heard of them before.

I'm fortunate that my teen DDs are not "typical" teens, lol. They don't want North Face, Pandora, Vera Bradley or Ugg items. They prefer to have different items that no one else has. It's nice, because those items are usually less expensive, however they can be tough to find!

Looking for "off the beaten path" ideas........

My DD14 is into music bigtime. She sings, plays piano and guitar, and loves musicals. She's also my fashionista and makeup artist. DD17 is a bookworm, loves nature and animals.

I just ordered Samantha Grace organizer bags for my daughters and nieces. I was gifted one last year and can't say enough about it. It is a heavy duty clear plastic with a colorful laminate fabric that velcros at the top. I keep mine in my purse with my epi pen, tissues, lipstick, nail file and mints. I love that I can see it right away and the contents of it. These are great for traveling.

My mom would love this..going to check it out..thanks! Is it online only

Re: Spineless Classics: I emailed the company about coupon codes (or vouchers) as they post ones on their Twitter but I think they are only for their UK site. I will post back once I hear about the best place to watch for sales or coupons.

My Dd is the same way...In fact I think I recommended the guitar punch last year...my DD loves hers. My DD is not into typical either

She loves the BCC series SHERLOCK and I ordered his clue game from amazon that got great reviews. CLUEDO Sherlock is the name for ages 13 and up. I also found a companion book to the shows...and I got DH the calendar. I am thrilled to have found unique stuff for her that she doesn't know exists! This is going to be a tough Christmas on what to buy.

I like though that I don't feel pressured to fill under the tree with STUFF. Some years there is a lot some years I don't find what I love. If I don't love it, I don't get it!
