2014 Christmas Gift idea list for TEEN GIRLS

Re: Spineless Classics: I emailed the company about coupon codes (or vouchers) as they post ones on their Twitter but I think they are only for their UK site. I will post back once I hear about the best place to watch for sales or coupons.
Yay!! I heard back and they said there is a 10% off code floating around BUT he gave me a 30% off code to share :) give "wizzbang" a try in the voucher spot, worked for me!
Edit: I notice now the wording he used said "up to 30% off almost all of our prints" so it may not work on everything but the one I tried it did :)

We redid DD13's bedroom for her birthday last year and got her this hammock chair which hangs from her ceiling. She has a large room and it isn't close enough to be a danger to her tv. All of her cousins love it and would like to have one, too.

A couple years ago for my 16yoDDs, I shelled walnuts and folded money (couple $1s, $2s, $5s for about $25 or so) really tiny and then glued the shell back together. Put that in a box with a bunch of other nuts and a nutcracker.

Same year, I gave one a purse, the other a backpack and put things in it... tissues, lipgloss, tampons, hairclips, a few dollars.

This year 13yoDS is getting a book titled "Backyard Ballistics: Build Potato Cannons, Paper Match Rockets..." along with safety supplies and materials that he can build the stuff with. Also saw a book titled "The Practical Pyromaniac: Build Fire Tornadoes, One-Candlepower Engines..." which I'm considering.

16yoDD is getting a gift certificate for a massage.

Thank you!! I think this would be perfect for DS12. He & I tried to make this contraption that allows you to break cement blocks based on a youtube video. We got stuck at this one part and have a half finished project in the garage. I think these sound right up his alley!!

Just a heads up if anyone is looking for make up. E.L.F. cosmetics is 50% off everything today, plus free shipping over $30. It's only until midnight so hurry if you are interested. DD likes their stuff so I made an $88 dollar order for $44:goodvibes.

Thank you so much for sharing this amazing site :thanks: these are absolutely perfect. I just ordered the Alice in Wonderland one for my nearly 15 year old.

I second the thanks!! Ordered one for my DD and told several friends about it too!

Dang- missed it

I think others have said this, but my nieces are teens now and I have a hard time keeping up with what they like anymore. So gift cards are what this Aunt gives them and they know it. If I know stores they like I get the gc from there, if not my local bank has visa gc.

That's the best gift ever according to my daughter. I remember as a kid my aunts would buy me clothes- I was a jeans and concert t shirt type kid and they would buy me shirts and I remember opening those boxes trying to smile and say thanks I love it when I was horrified. I would have loved gift cards!

My daughters list is odd this year, she wants new curtains, tapestry's for her wall, a case of Kinder Bueno (some chocolate bar that is not available in stores around here), clothes and shoes. I always get her broadway tickets too and she wants to see book of Mormon so I will try to get a date to go see that.

DD14 is having difficulty making a list for family this year (yes, she's started because my sister has been prodding her - our entire family likes to shop early!). That's mostly because a lot of what she wants is clothing - but she doesn't trust the family that only sees her a few times a year to know her style. :rotfl: I keep telling her not to put vague things like "camping shirts" and "flowered blouses" on it - to find specific shirts she likes and just flat out put links to those on her list! While it doesn't mean the people will get her that exact shirt/blouse, it will at least give them an idea of what she is really asking for. And honestly, most of them will be perfectly happy to just buy exactly what she listed - I mean you can only ask your middle-aged single uncles to do so much when it comes to buying female clothing :rotfl2:

Thank you so much to whoever posted the idea of Jamberry Nails. I had never heard if these, but looked them up, and definitely going to get a set for younger dd. She loves doing her nails and think she would love to have a set of design ones.

I saw the Jamberry junior sets which look great, but does anyone know how big those are? I'd hate for them to be too small for her. It says up to at least 8 yrs old. Younger dd is 11, but she has fairly little nails. Has anyone tried this size on the daughters?

They are tiny. The regular size fits my 10 year old.

I bought the juniors for my dd17. She has tiny nails (she is 5'1" and around 100 pounds so she is tiny for her age) and they were perfect. The regular ones would have been huge on her.

Thank you!

Now I'm confused what size to get my dd, lol. Maybe I'll get a set of each for her and then she can decide what fits her better.

One thought: the larger size can be trimmed to fit smaller nails. Whereas the smaller sizes cannot be made larger.

I just placed my first order of these for my DD9 for Christmas and at the advice of my consultant did mostly the larger sizes. I did order a couple of junior sheets, too. My back up plan for those is that we can always use them on her toes which are much smaller.

Kids tend to do a lot of mix and matching. Also, the consultant showed me how to apply them and there is definitely a bit of a learning curve. It probably won't be something she'll be able to apply all by herself for awhile.

but they do look very fun!

We put exact items on our lists! On DH's side it has long been a tradition to cut out pictures of your list items and paste them on paper to hang on the fridge at his parents. We also email idea lists to both sides of the family and will provide links to specific items with sizes. It works pretty well, and like you said, even if they don't get the exact thing, it really helps give the idea of what you like. I remember my young niece being really excited that I got the EXACT zebra striped cowgirl travel mug that she had cut out of a catalog.

So far for my teen girls I have just been putting ideas into my online carts. I always get a Christmas ornament pertinent to their interests that year. I think this year DD16 will get an Alice in Wonderland (the musical she is in this year at school) ornament, and DD13 may get Captain America (Marvel obsessed). There are a couple of shirts at Disney Store I'm considering. Beyond that I'm not sure.
