^ Agree with this. Bus going to be quicker to MK pretty much every time. But we walk through Epcot a bunch of the time just for the fun of it (we have APs). YC/BC location is just so awesome!!::yes::

Or a cab to Contemporary and walk to MK. That's what we did last time and is probably the quickest. Doesn't the bus stop at Beach Club after picking up at Yacht? I think it is about $20 for a cab to Contemporary (including tip).

Ok thanks! Is it common for them to switch people over to the YC to accommodate requests?

No, not automatically just to accommodate a request. But if they can't meet your request of a full balcony, you can ask to switch over to YC.

I'm so excited about this trip and staying YC CL. Adding NSSHP and F&W festival to that, I may not want to leave!

To get to MK do you usually go through Epcot and monorail over to T&TC, then on to MK monorail? Providing you have hoppers of course.

We like to take the bus to MK and then return via the Epcot monorail. The bus is direct from BC to MK, usually, and takes about 15 minutes or so. Then we will often return on the monorail, walking through Epcot on our way back to the BC.

Other times we just return on the BC bus, since it is easier than taking two monorails and walking. The return trip will be a little longer than the bus ride to MK since the bus will stop at YC first, and once in awhile it will also stop at BWI/Swan/Dolphin, but not very often.

Ok- I read the FAQ in the beginning if the thread and we experienced first-hand the tortuous bus service (two years ago, returning to POP - we ended up taking an AoA bus and walking back to POP). Besides the boat service to a resort and then bus to Epcot, is there another strategy to return from DTD to BC?

The quickest way is a cab otherwise take the bus. We found once it finely came it wasn't too bad to get back to the resort.

Quick q about the Yacht Club before we book this evening... are any of the Garden rooms overlooking any undesirable areas? For example, are there any views of the parking lot, garbage area, etc? I noticed that we booked a water view last time and apparently the categories have changed.

On a separate note, I almost decided to stay at the BC because we like how close it is to the breakfast area, but we don't want to risk not having a balcony as its the main reason we choose deluxe ;)

Thanks so much!!!

Here is a thread on the Resorts Photo board that has links to some Yacht Club room views. I think there are 6 samples of GV rooms to give you an idea of what some of these look like.

There shouldn't be views of parking lots, rooftops or garbage areas in the garden view category.

At the BC, some garden view rooms look out over woods/brush. I'm not sure if there are any similar GV rooms at the YC. I have heard of them.

Thanks so much! I did check out that link earlier today and the view looked fine to me... then my husband chimes in with "I just don't want to be looking over at a parking lot" and got that idea in my head. We can stay at the Port Orleans for $1,000 cheaper but we love the Yacht Club, just want to make sure it's worth the extra money :)
Thanks again!

First of all, YOU are getting stuck with Buzzy for this trip!

Second of all, we have an ADR at LeCellier Monday, August 18, 2014at 12:35 PM

So you better get to dialing 'cause we are not bringing back a doggy bag!

Crap, I was hoping to avoid the fly. (Guess that isn't possible if I start a sentence with "crap".)

Yeah yeah yeah Janetmom!!!! :-)

Thanks! I expect you to bring back some good stories/reviews from your trip to give the rest of us something to think about while we wait for our trip.

Hey, did someone here try to PM me?

For the record, I DO have room (1 message) and I show that I have 1 unread msg but I can't access it.

If you sent the message, you may want to try emailing me at beachclubdee at yahoo

You know this post has me laughing. :rotfl:

I have a question about online check-in. I've never done it before and we have always stayed CL. We will be at the BC in ten days and I did online check-in today. I was hoping that I could request a room close to the family we are traveling with. There was no place to request this. Does anyone know if there is a way to email the resort? We also have a CM discount and the CM is a member of the other family.

Safe travels!! :beach: look forward to hearing about it!!

My hubby and I will be at the Yacht Club March 14-17 to celebrate my 40th (which is really July 6...but I don't want those crowds and weather)!!! We are staying club level and the kiddos are staying home! Don't feel too sorry for them, as we leave for a week in DL in May! Since this trip is adults only, we are doing the Keys to the Kingdom and Behind the Seeds tours. We have never stayed at the Yacht Club, so we can't wait!!!

:welcome:

Your trip sounds lovely!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list on Page 1.

:cool1:

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Well be there aug 24-27th!

No, not automatically just to accommodate a request. But if they can't meet your request of a full balcony, you can ask to switch over to YC.

Right, not common, and I have never personally had to try this, but I figure it doesn't hurt to ask.

Also, if you are willing to change rooms later in your trip if a room with a balcony open ups, let the CM who is checking you in know that.

:)

I am not aware of an email address for the resort (oh, but I wish I had one)

Call in to the CRO (Central Reservation Office) and verbally let them know you would like be near the other family. In addition to the online check-in, I believe the room assignors also review any requests that have been noted on the reservation.

We go through pages pretty fast here! When we reach 250 pages, the thread closes down and I have to start a new one. The Jan/Feb label helps us keep track of the current thread, which started in January. I"ll add March to the title in a couple of days.

Hope that helps

:goodvibes

Yeah thanks...I was just making sure this wasn't designed for Jan or Feb 2014 visits or something.

My DH and I are taking our 4 (8, 5, 2, 2 at travel time) kids to Disney September 21-27 and staying at YC! It is the first time for my DH and our kids and we are all so excited! We have asked for a room with a daybed. What are the chances we will get that request? If we requested a corner room and a daybed is that asking too much? We are paying for a Garden room. Does YC upgrade rooms to a better view often?

Hello!!!!!

Well, after a fantabulous stay at YC CL last April, we will be returning to the BC/YC resort in August, this time staying at BC (non CL)!!!!! :cool1:

Excited to have fun at SAB in the heat of August! Bring it on!!!

Dee, could you add me to the list, pretty please! :goodvibes

Our dates are 8/16/14 - 8/26/14!
