We changed our plans a little bit and are now doing Beach Club Villas with a one bedroom, instead of Beach Club standard room. Hopefully this will fit our needs.

*snip*

Has anyone had any experience with the Beach Club Villas that they want to share any tips?

I'll make the change to your listing.

:goodvibes

Just left BC from a business trip and Teena being her wonderful self gave me a pin to take home to my son. He loved it and it was nice to bring a little magic home courtesy of Teena. I must admit that I did forget to bring Teena some Tastykakes on this trip but will make up for it next time. If your heading to Beach Club and Tastykakes are in your area please feel free to make up for my forgetfullness. Its called the TFT campaign (Tastykakes for Tina):)

Cant wait to see you again, hopefully next year.

Thanks for sharing your story, and starting a campaign to keep Teena supplied with her favorite treat!

:)

We are staying at the BC for the first time 3/9-3/15. We are WDW veterans, but this will be our first stay at the BC and I've spent the last two days reading this thread. Me, DH, and DD 19 will be traveling with dear friends who are also WDW vets. They have sons 19 and 21. We got a great deal on our rooms as one of us,(not me), is a CM! I'm so nervous about staying in a new resort, first time with a room only reservation and it's our first time using the magic bands. I feel better now after reading through everyone's posts! it's not our first spring break trip, but usually go un July or August. DME stuff came, ADR's are made, now I better buy our MYW tickets! Thanks for all of the awesome BC info!

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1.

:cool1:

We're excited for our first Yacht Club stay October 13-20!

:welcome:

I'll add you to the list!

Please let us know if you have any questions.

:woohoo:

And I, Buzzy the Fly have my compound eyes crossed for JanetMom to make her trip happen!!

:cool1:::yes:::cool1:

Uh-Oh! Last time Buzzy crossed his eyes he ended up in my Sunken Treasure (although I'm suspicious that it may have been an intentional act)

Teena...didnt know about this penchant for Tastykakes. Any particular variety?

We changed our plans a little bit and are now doing Beach Club Villas with a one bedroom, instead of Beach Club standard room. Hopefully this will fit our needs. I also managed to get the 4 ADRs I wanted to get:
1. California Grill for Mother's Day dinner
2. Ohana
3. 1900 Park Fair for my daughter's golden birthday
4. Be Our Guest dinner

I also just passed the 100 day mark. Seeing the commercials on TV has really got me showing my Disney side so much already!

we just got back from an 8 night stay at the Beach Club Villas (1 bedroom). They were very very nice. The bed is super comfortable. It was plenty of room for me, DH, and DS 9 and 4 in the villa. The bathroom set up is a little odd, like alot of doors and not the right ones lock, but really no damper on our comfort. LOVED having the washer and dryer!!!! Take plenty of detergent pods. We were in #271, it was a very long walk to the elevator. Fine for us, but mention in case it matters to you. I had requested a canal view and large balcony. Got both plus got in the room super early on check-in day. Only catch was our canal view looked at a highway bridge crossing the canal, oh well, we only went on the balcony like twice. Even though it was our first trip as a family, we did visit a few other resorts on our trip and none came close to comparing to the decor, atmosphere, comfort, dining choices, etc etc as the Beach club and beach club villas. We just loved it there. I highly doubt we would stay anywhere else on future trips.

Teena-

Will you be there at all during our March 3-7th trip?

Thanks

No, I'm sorry, I'm heading out to help Jeanne in her classroom and to spend lots of time with Princess Lily. I fly out of here on February 19th and return to Orlando on March 5th. I won't be back to work until March 9th and 10th.

Hope you have a super time!!!!!

It was super seeing you again. And you are very sweet to keep me in Tastykakes.

We just booked CL at YC we will be there next Monday the 10th until Friday the 14th. Can anyone give us some tips or suggestions? We've never stayed CL before and we are eager to try it!

Hi all! We are getting ourselves a bit more organized for our July trip - this will be our first time at BC - first time in a villa - We would really like to request a ground floor villa but I'm not familiar with BCV procedure for doing this - do we just call reservations and have it added to our reservation? Does it show up when we do online check in? There isn't much else we care about - just would love to have a ground floor patio. Thanks so much for your help!

The advice you got here is great. However you booked this reservation, just make sure they have "first floor requested" on your reservation. I just want to add that although we try hard to meet guests' requests, especially at the Villas, it is lots of times impossible. We are normally 100% occupied in the Villas. So what that means to you is that let's say you reserved a one bedroom villa and requested the ground floor. The BCV is a very small building compared to others at WDW. So, there may be only 5 one bedroom villas on the first floor and none of them might be having guests check-out on the day you check-in. Therefore, there is no way we can meet your request. We can't give you something we don't have available. Because we are always full, if one of the villas on the first floor checks out the day before you arrive, we can't keep it empty one night for you to come into the next day ... we are almost always sold out so no room can remain empty. I hope everything works out and a room with your request is being vacated on the day you check-in. I just wanted to let you know that at the BCV especially, requests are very likely not going to be met especially one that limits us so much (a particular floor). For example, if someone requests "anything except first floor" (which we get a lot), that gives us four floors of rooms to work with. In your case, you are limiting us big time. I'll keep my fingers crossed!!! Just don't want you to be real upset if you don't get a first floor room.

That Sunday and Monday I have nothing planned so I should be in the lobby. Only thing that could change that is a Disney cruise. Bob and I are known to book one a few weeks in advance and take off for a week. We are enjoying our retirement.

Hello BC/YC fans! Teena, I see you have a Princess Lily coming up! Does that mean you're away the weekend of February 20-23?

Yep, I fly out on Wednesday, 2/19. Lily informed me on Skype the other night when she insisted I watch Cinderella with her ... I told her I was coming to her house soon and she said "No Nanny". I said, "You don't want Nanny to come visit you?" She informed me, "I come to your house and see Mickey and Pop-Pop on my airplane." So I told her that she can't come here because Mommy has to work and she then informed me that Mommy could stay home and she would come by herself. I left that up to Jeanne to work out with her. No way was I going to argue with her about that one. Jeanne has her hands full with that one!

I know you were never a fan of advanced check in...do you still hold that position? we are slated for the BC GV......THANKS! MElissa

Hey Melissa ... nope, now with MDE, I highly recommend doing the advanced check-in. Everything is soooo different with MDE and it goes make life much easier for everybody.

Hi Teena! Have fun at your cabin tomorrow! Jim and I will be checking in around 3 tomorrow afternoon. Really looking forward to some alone time for our 42nd anniversary. My granddaughter, Lucy, has made us promise not to have any pictures taken with the characters until we go with her in April.

Would this be true even with the villas? I always like to look at our room options with the cast members once we get there if we can't get exactly the room we want. We know they are always at just about 100% occupancy so we can't always get exactly what we want but if we do the on-line check in, don't we lose the opportunity to look at any available options? Just curious.

Here's the thing. As of today, they are doing all on-line check-ins for BCV at BCV during day time hours (I think it's 9 to 5). So they "catch" you and walk you over to the BCV to check you in. In your case, since you want to chat with a CM at the desk about room locations, etc., I would not do the on-line check-in. It would be quicker if you were just at the main check-in desk at the Beach Club.
