Ocalla..I just booked our southwest flights too. I have been watching our return flight and hoping in would come down, and yesterday, it did!! party:Now, I have enough points for all four of us round trip tickets!! I'm so excited. Not having to pay for flights is what helped me to be able to stay at GF! :yay:

I am at work and can't watch it yet:( can't wait to get home tonight!

Thanks Jennygt The link worked and I enjoyed the podcast! :thumbsup2

Blue: The pool does get very busy mid day! If you can't find a lounge chair on the bottom level, remember that there is an upstairs level with several lounge chairs in the sun and tables/chairs in the shade!! The pool has so many different areas to sit/swim that if you don't see one where you enter...keep walking around!! And DITTO on Busymommy with the walk to DHS. I know a lot of folks do it, but we really enjoy taking the boat going and coming back. I like to save my "miles walking" for in the park :)

TeacherDL I was very worried the first time we stayed away from BC because we spend all our evenings in EPCOT. But we find that while staying at Poly or WL we split our evenings with MK, DTD and EPCOT and just used the monorail for parks or cab for DTD!!! It was different but in a good way!

Appreciate all of those tips ocalla :goodvibes

Reminder: Southwest just opened up the next flight schedule!!! I just booked our September flights :jumping1:

Hello grannyminnie and all the rest of my fellow GF fans....Hope that everyone is having a terrific Thursday.... princess: preppy GF gal who is so excited that its only one more week until lunch ADRs will be available for booking at BOG!!

Awww Candy! Thanks for the lovely picture! I'm still snowed in with another winter storm watch for Friday-Sunday. It's so nice to see those pictures!

Happy Friday Everyone!!!! One more week closer to making my ADR's (and then being able to tweak the heck out of them daily :)!!)
Candy: Thanks so much for sharing your pics! it makes a first time GF girl so excited about her upcoming trip!!

Does anybody know if you can get the waterproof cases that hang around your neck at the GF? They're large enough for a credit card/room key. We love them and would love to have one from GF.

Hello fellow GF fans....:wave2:

ocalla I am an ADR tweaker too.... ....can't help myself..lol...Its always about the food in my book...

Lovetherodent Don't recall seeing any of those water proof cases recently...but I am not sure...

grannyminnie Where are you today...Hope that your lines aren't all frozen again!!!!!!!!!

I have been looking at pictures of the Main Street/Hub/Plaza Gardens reconstruction...and must admit that I have very mixed feelings about the look of everything...especially the light poles....I am still lamenting the loss of the original gardens and benches that were the little oasis at the end of Main Street years ago..it was a shady respite right in the middle of everything...and you emerged on one side to have the beautiful castle right there before you....But....things change ...and change is necessary..right!!???????????????????? :confused3 lol...

TGIF ....:cold: frozen GF gal who would love to live in the tropics....

In 2012, when I visited GF for the first time (in may, during the day), the site was ... full of lizards (we saw a few hundreds within a 20 minutes visit). To the point that DH and I still call it "Lizardtown". When we visited again in November 2014, at night, we didn't see any lizards.

Is it still happening there? Is there a lizard season?

p.s.: I love lizards. It wouldn't prevent me from staying there.

I think I have become a stalker of this page lol...I am in the home stretch now (less than 50 days til I am in FL)! I am in NJ right now and yes my car temp said 2 degrees this morning!image.jpgSeriously counting down the days til we are in sunny FL! You know you have Disney on the brain when olafs song "in summer" is playing over and over again in your head!

Lizards are cold-blooded so I'm not surprised you saw them in May but not in the colder months. When the weather is warm, you'll see them everywhere!

They're so cute... but we are always scared to walk over one of them.

I believe a Gecko is in the lizard family -- but they are the "runts" of the litter. Probably 6" long is an NBA superstar in their world.

Hi All - I have some questions about the Grand Floridian. I tried to go through this thread but it's huge and I couldn't find what I was looking for. Here's what I'd like to know.

I'd like a view of the Magic Kingdom and the fireworks. Where are the best buildings for this?

Can I get that view in the main building?

Would you suggest the main building or an outer building? What are the pros and cons of each?

In the outer buildings, are there elevators to the upper floors? If there are, are they inside or outside?

:sunny:

Hi soarinfan

All buildings except Sugar Loaf (CL) have an MK view. That is because it is located between the Main Building & Conch Key

The Main Building is all CL and yes they do have MK view rooms there. They are located above Gasperilla Grill on floors 2,3 & 4(and 5th if you book the Grand Suite)

Yes there elevators located in each of the outer buildings, and they are inside the lobby of each building

There is a resort map located on the first post & page of this thread
I think Conch Key would have the closest view of the fireworks.....

I hope this helps! If I'm wrong someone will correct me.
