Hello Grand Floridian fans!!!

We are long time Beach Club stayers...however...we fell head over heels in love with GF on a recently meal/walk through. After watching youtube videos with my young daughters today, we are completely sold and planning our november vacation there!!! We are saving all our pennies to get there, but we know it'll be worth the price difference from BC! We will be joining you Nov 13-21/22...Tell me what the must see/must do activities are!! We are taking a whole day off to enjoy the beautiful resort!

My husband and i will also be celebrating our 10th anniversary, and this trip is dubbed our Familymoon! We never got a honeymoon (married young), and can't imagine wanting a 10th trip without our little family :)

Join in my club!!! BC and YC has always been our go-to resort choice. But I have to tell you, we are both so excited about our new GF adventure :) We always said GF would be THE resort for our 25th, and we are actually making that happen!!!

goofy4prez I see from your signature that instead of a CL stay that you are giving the VGF a try...I would be very interested in hearing about your stay and the comparison of a villa vs CL....

Hope that all of my fellow GF fans are having a magical Monday! :earsgirl: frozen GF gal ...who is hoping that spring will hurry up and arrive...:flower:

I'm sure we will enjoy it. We have never done anything but CL in all of our stays and have to admit we became rather spoiled. Our first stay at Disney in 2008 was at the Wilderness Lodge; we had a standard view and ended up being upgraded to CL. Since that day we have only done CL. However, in June we became DVC members and bought into the VGF. We are really looking forward to this upcoming trip and the many more the future has in store for us.

We are booked for those exact dates as well! Except I will have my hubby, sister in law, mother in law, and our 5 year old twins with me. So excited but a little worried, hoping we get our room request for a connecting door, so when kids go to bed we be right next door.

Sounds like a mini DIS meet in the making :dance3:...As long as you have booked both rooms under the same reservation..or have them linked with a "traveling with" and requested "connecting" rooms you should be fine with having your request accomodated...

Congrats on your very first GF stay and on your anniversary too! :goodvibes I am sure that you will enjoy your "familymoon"...love that..lol...There are two great pools too enjoy..a children's themed splash area..and just the general ambiance of the GF grounds to enjoy on a resort day...On Monday, Wednesday and I believe Fridays the house keepers have a parasol parade in the courtyard at 8am..Its a long time GF traditions and fun to watch...Whaterver you do I ma sure it will be a grand day!

Ok so I have a question. I did my online check in option last week and I selected 2 things (big pine key & have the room ready for when we get there). Then I decided that it was much more important to have the room ready for early check in then the building (I figured let fate take over which building we should be in). Anyways when I went back in to Modify my check in it wouldn't let me take off big pine key. So I tryed to select something else figuring it might cancel out my current choices and then let me remove them and reselect just the 1 option of having our room ready for check in. Anyways now I have 4 options selected instead of the normal 2 and they are all showing up. Is that going to effect my check in? I know you are normally only allowed to select 2 so I just want to make sure its not going to effect my room choice or something. Anyone else have experience with this or know how to fix it or should I just leave it alone? TIA!!!

No help on that...sorry..a suggestiio would be to call CRO and be sure that your top two requests are listed on your reservation...

Hope that all of my fellow GF fans are having a terrific Tuesday! :surfweb: Happy GF gal who has figured out to post a multi quote!!! lol...finally..:blush:

googy4prez congrats on becoming a DVC member... :thumbsup2 and at the VGF....We have toured the villas and they are just beautiful...We are generally club dwellers too..but those villas are so tempting...

jennygt Thanks for the heads up on the review! :thumbsup2

So where are the rest of my fellow GF fans today... grannyminnie ahcupcake MickeyNut (miss you around here..) Candy (boy would I love to see another one of yor beautiful pics..:goodvibes ) Trish!!! ... and so many more....Love to hear about more trips coming up..and plans..oh..especially the dining...cause you all know...Its always about the food!! ::yes:::goodvibes

BTW...
BC fans (there are a few of you here now trying out the GF..)...we are going to be trying that resort for the very first time this summer...love any tips that you can share also....TIA...:goodvibes

Us, too! I guess we're "samplers;" never stayed at the same resort twice. BUT we went to the Cinderella dinner at GF and my oldest fell in love on the spot. I told her it'd have to be a trip to celebrate something really special. It's been a long time since I said that, but here we are, going at Spring break, just months before she graduates from college and I'm scared! We got to stay at the Poly one year at a great price because Disney closed POFQ for refurb after we booked it. That stay hooked us on the deluxes. What is this stay at the GF going to do to me?!

Blue: We love BC and YC!! the walk to Epcot will spoil you!! Be sure and spend time at their amazing pool!!!

We really do love love love Beach Club!!! But are also sooooo so excited to stay at GF! Our 10th was a good reason for that!

Beach Club we love the movie on the beach, making smores at the campfire, walking along the boardwalk in the evening, Stormalong Bay is AMAZING...we took two resort days last time to just hang out at the pool! Beaches and Creme milkshakes are snack credits lol..and to die for!! Hubby loves the mint chip one..but I try new ones each time! The smell of the BC is intoxicating..we love it!! We've spent years trying to find the smell somewhere lol. Walking to Epcot is our absolute favorite perk. We are an Epcot family, but going to spend more time at MK and do it different this trip. Nothing like walking around world showcase and being able to just walk out the back and head home. There's nothing like the parasol parade or anything that I can think of, but we always really did enjoy the perks of staying there. Also..we walked to HS...which we were told was managable....it is not...take the boat lol

Here I am! :surfweb: Ice knocked out our power yesterday and I was LOST! lol Yay, for you, figuring out how to multi-quote! And look at me, I have learned how to lift a quote and reply!! I feel empowered! :yay:

Candy, as usual, your photos make me happy...:cloud9:

I too am a Beach Club lover and I'm trying GF in June for the first time. We have never stayed on the Monorail before. So, I'm excited about that but (this may sound weird..lol) also a little anxious/sad about leaving BC! We love the pool and especially being able to walk to Epcot every night and stroll around World Showcase, and then stroll back to our hotel, when everyone else is racing for the exits. But, how can I go wrong with a monorail ride from MK at Disney's Flagship Hotel?? :)

The GF is am amazing resort...be prepared to fall in love...:lovestruc.I would say you might decide that you have done enough sampling...

Thanks ocalla I am excited about the prospect of walking to Epcot...and that beautiful pool....:cloud9:..one question though...how crowded does the pool area get during the early summer season?? At the GF..getting a lounge chair is generally not challenging ..although since VGF has opened the courtyard pool is a lot busier than it was prior...any time of year...

Thanks so much for your input too busymommy :goodvibes ...GF has that same lovely smell :cloud9:...I think it was dansdad who recently ( a few pages back) posted the info on how to bring that wonderful scent home...

I am looking forward to being able to walk to Epcot..but will remember that :boat: is the way to go when visiting DHS...don't want to be worn out before we get there...lol...

Feeling that same way Teacher...So excited to try something new....but....I am a tried and true GF fan...and a bit apprehensive about the unknown...lol....:scratchin.... By comparison...I think that the new BC decor mirrors that of the GF...only with a different color scheme...and a palette of colors that I like even better.... I happen to be partial to blue! ;) In case you were wondering....lol...

Staying at a monorail resort really gives your stay so many options...the ease of dining at 3 other different themed resorts...and oh those evening fireworks..nothing quite like watching Wishes if you time it right from a water launch cruising across Seven Seas Lagoon...Heavenly!

Candy Your pictures are spectacular!!!! Thanks you so much for sharing them!!!!

~GF first timers...I know that this will not be your last GF stay....the resort not only has such lovely grounds....there is just such a general luxuriously relaxed kind of vibe...and unique combination IMO....There is nothing like enjoying some down time in the beautiful lobby listining to the evening music..:cloud9::cloud9:...this smilie says it all.... I will be interested in your thoughts after your trips....I will be happy to come back and share mine too after our BC stay...giving a comparison of both resorts... All really wonderful options...lucky us! :goodvibes:thumbsup2

Hope that all of my fellow GF fans are having a wonderful Wednesday....:earsgirl: preppy GF gal who is wondering what the smilie limit is on the new boards????:confused::cool2:::yes::...lol....

The podcast team the the video and review on the podcast main page, I don't know how to copy a link on my phone:( sorry.

Blue: The pool does get very busy mid day! If you can't find a lounge chair on the bottom level, remember that there is an upstairs level with several lounge chairs in the sun and tables/chairs in the shade!! The pool has so many different areas to sit/swim that if you don't see one where you enter...keep walking around!! And DITTO on Busymommy with the walk to DHS. I know a lot of folks do it, but we really enjoy taking the boat going and coming back. I like to save my "miles walking" for in the park :)

TeacherDL I was very worried the first time we stayed away from BC because we spend all our evenings in EPCOT. But we find that while staying at Poly or WL we split our evenings with MK, DTD and EPCOT and just used the monorail for parks or cab for DTD!!! It was different but in a good way!
