I wanted to thank everyone who left a thoughtful comment or voted on the "New Thread or No" Poll. The results were 23 in favor of a new thread and 16 to just keep going with the current one. But everyone said I should do whatever I think is best. Even though I just a have little bit of work left to clean up before I get the first page to the place I want it, an unexpected family situation has arisen that will require me to head into my hometown whenever I have free time for the next couple of weeks, so for the time being, I am going to have to "Let it Go!"

OK, I am not a fan of "TMI" but I am even less of a fan of vague drama posts- we are at a lifestyle crossroads with my dear dad. He has decided he is no longer comfortable driving due to some dizzy spells, which is admirable but came out of the blue for me. My brother and I will have to get him situated with a homebound situation and perhaps start the process of looking for housing where he is not living alone.

Thanks for any positive thoughts you want to send our way!

Dee..
Just catching up on the thread and sending you lots of . Having been in your shoes with both my mom then my dad, before he passed, I understand exactly what you're going thru. If you need anything, do not hesitate to reach out to me!

We've stayed many times as a family of 5 in one room. Done deluxe club, regular club and standard room. My favorite has been regular club room. More than enough beds in room for sleeping but love the convenience of staying in the same floor as club lounge and using it to 'escape' with 1, 2 or NONE of my darling children depending on the circumstances ( who is being the most annoying lol). Love that lounge for so many reasons :goodvibes

Just emailed IPO about my request for a daybed for our room since we are now having 5 people in the room, instead of our original 2. Kind of nervous that we won't be able to get that daybed request. What is the likelihood of that happening? If our request isn't granted, can we ask for a rollaway bed for the room? It's for my little sister and she is super small (4'9")

Yes you can request a rollaway. Since you have 5 people they must either provide you with a day bed or a rollaway. All 5 people must have a place to sleep.

Will the rollaway bed fit in the room with room to spare? I'm already worried about how much space we're going to have with 5 people in one room..

So excited. Stayed up until midnight and got Mine Train for after dinner on our first time at the Cabins. Dinner at BOG and then the Mine Train. Two of Princess Lily's favorites!!!! And Pop-Pop is going too. She is so excited about taking Pop-Pop on the mine train and showing him the Beast's Castle.

Beach Club rooms vary in size. We have 5 people and ended up in a CL dormer room and the rollaway took up a lot of space. It would not have been tolerable for longer than the one night we were there.

Dee - sending positive vibes to you and your family. I have an older family member, who went through a similar type of transition - selling her car and moving from an apartment to assisted living. It has been a number of years, now, and she has not stopped telling me how glad she was that she made the move; it has allowed her to make new friends and participate in activities she would not have been able to do, if not for the move.

Your dad is very fortunate having such a loving and supportive family.

Oh all right! Add me to the Be Our Guest list! I am staying at the BEACH CLUB from August 29th to the 1st of September. This is a MAGICAL VACATION as I am running away from home and meeting up with a pack of WILD women. ATTENTION CHAIR PIGGIES!! Ninja Mom is coming your way so you had better shape up! Towels will be removed from empty chairs, the furniture will be rearranged and the lost and found will be extremely busy when I am in residence. Consider this fair warning! ; )

~NM

Dee - Add me to that BOG list. Ready to go end of August and help clear those chairs of unused towels at SAB!!!

We should get together if we are going to be there at the same time... ; )

~NM

Ditto... Please add me to the BOG list for August 29th to the 1st of September for the VERY MAGICAL VACATION! I would love to "get together" with you NM and HockeyMomR!!

Was anyone able to get a Beach Resort Garden view room with free dining for the week of September 13 to September 19. I had to upgrade to a pool view but I would really prefer a garden view. Does anyone think these rooms will open up in the future?

Hello everyone! I'm new here. This is my first post ever and I have some questions as a Disney newbie. Hopefully this doesn't shock anyone too badly but I'm 26 and I've never been to Disney. That's finally changing! My girlfriend and I got engaged December 2014 and we are getting married in April 2016. Because of the types of people we are our first (and only) thought for our honeymoon was going to Disney! We decided on that very quickly and the research began. We've bought a bunch of planning books, researched online and asked friends/family for tips. We will be going in April 2016, a day after our wedding. We believe we finally decided what resort to stay in, which brings me here for my questions.

First off, we knew we wanted an Epcot area resort because of the location and night life. We narrowed it down to either the Beach Club or Boardwalk due to recommendations. Then we found out about the Villas and what they have to offer. I know the Villas are a bit more expensive but 1 bedroom villas just seemed more "honeymoon-like". The rooms had more space, the bathrooms were nicer with a larger walk-in shower and the rooms had a whirlpool tub. Comparing pictures of the villas at the Beach Club and Boardwalk we decided that the Beach Club Villas were our #1 pick.

So here come the questions!...

I just found out that they are refurbishing the Beach Club rooms and that this includes the Villas. Is it safe to say that this refurbishing in the villas will be done by April 2016 when we plan to go? It would be pretty darn cool to stay in a very newly refurbished one bedroom villa!

Being a young and "soon" to be newlywed couple we are looking to be semi-careful with our money for our honeymoon. We don't do any extravagant traveling so we feel like we want to make sure our honeymoon is special and exactly how we want it. With that said, the room rates for the Beach Club 1 bedroom villas are pretty darn expensive. I know Disney offers many seasonal discounts. Most likely the time we would be going next year would be during some 30% off room rates spring discount. However, the spring discounts don't usually become available until the end of December. We don't feel comfortable waiting that long and have the chance that a beach club villa one bedroom isn't available for us. So here is a question...If we book our villa earlier and then come December they offer a 30% off spring discount for the dates we would be going, is it possible to call Disney up and get that discount applied for our reservation? I have been reading a lot about people doing that so I was wondering if anyone here had some experience with that.

And lastly....Does anyone have any Disney honeymoon tips/secrets they would like to share?!

Sorry for writing a book! This is just all so exciting.

Thanks!

I would keep checking. A lot of the free dining people who originally jumped on the offer are changing their dates so something might open. Although it does look like you got the last room available for free dining. Good job! :thumbsup2
