Thank you. I am so very excited. It's our first deluxe stay. I am finally done messing with my dinning reservations
I hope I have not over booked us and have enough room for swimming and such

There never seems to be enough time to do everything you want. Guess you'll just have to plan another trip! LOL

I arrived home safely and quickly finished that booking with my Magical agent!!! Booked for 8/29 - 9/1!!! I have a few roommates coming too. It is going to be fun. Thanks for starting the Dis Meet idea. :)

Oooh! Who's coming?? Anybody I know??? I heard a vicious rumor that "Sexy Vixen Diana" was planning on attending. Can you confirm this rumor or are you going to deny it until the day you die?

And just think, this year you all won't have to listen to the whine, that I'm missing it by a few days :upsidedow
You didn't miss it by much Some years it's darts, other years it's horse shoes...

What is the phone number to the Beach Club? The number to the actual resort not to the central phone people. thanks! :)

Beach Club - 407-934-8000
Yacht Club - 407-934-7000

Thank you. I don't want to sound ungrateful but isn't that the number that's answered by the central phone group?

Not sure, I got this from the info on the first page of this thread. I thought this was correct, maybe Dee can tell us.

Just called the number and the person I spoke to said this was the BC, unless she was telling me a fib it should be good. Did you try it?

Great question!

These are the only phone numbers I have for the resorts. I have heard conflicting reports about whether the numbers actually connect to the Beach Club or Yacht Club or whether they are answered at a call center where the operators are directed to answer "Beach Club" or "Yacht Club" so I don't know the answer.

:)

It took 2 hours on hold :crazy2: but I changed my SV 6 nights to a GV 5 night stay at BC! Woohoo! Our new dates are Dec. 18-23. Saved some money and will make it easier in terms of getting days off of work. I'm so excited. :yay:

By the way, they released a few more rooms on the free dining plan offer if you wanted to book but couldn't get one. They have more at YC than BC, but both were showing.

~Cari~ pluto:
I noticed that today!! I was able to get a BC room only discount y for one week (still nothing for fd avail) and then fd for another week. Due to flights the earlier week we would have to do an extra day (darn) but would get the free dining in a garden view room! Just need to confirm
My husband can get time off that week.

you are too far out to be done changing dining reservations! Lol!! How exciting. This will be out first deluxe stay too. Woohoo!!!

I wanted to thank everyone who left a thoughtful comment or voted on the "New Thread or No" Poll. The results were 23 in favor of a new thread and 16 to just keep going with the current one. But everyone said I should do whatever I think is best. Even though I just a have little bit of work left to clean up before I get the first page to the place I want it, an unexpected family situation has arisen that will require me to head into my hometown whenever I have free time for the next couple of weeks, so for the time being, I am going to have to "Let it Go!"

OK, I am not a fan of "TMI" but I am even less of a fan of vague drama posts- we are at a lifestyle crossroads with my dear dad. He has decided he is no longer comfortable driving due to some dizzy spells, which is admirable but came out of the blue for me. My brother and I will have to get him situated with a homebound situation and perhaps start the process of looking for housing where he is not living alone.

Thanks for any positive thoughts you want to send our way!

Dee - so sorry about the family situation. Thank you again for all of your hard work!!

We are staying at Yacht Club end of June. We have ADR at Hollywood and Vine at 8:00 am when the park opens at 9:00. We've done this before with ADR's at magic kingdom, but never studios. If boats won't start moving until 8:00 I'm guessing we need to cab it to studios. Is that correct? TIA
The boats might be running already. It is walkable as well.

I hope the situation is easy to resolve and everything falls into place for your dad and the rest of the family.

I hope all goes as well as it can with your dad. A challenging stage of life, but hopefully you come through it and find a place to live where he has company and is happy. And good for him for recognizing that he shouldn't be driving! I'm not sure my parents will be capable of recognizing that they shouldn't drive anymore.

good luck with Dad Dee! I'm glad you are able to help out. And glad he recognized what he needed! As always thanks for all this super info.

Dee I hope everyone is ok back home.

Beth, I have changed my ADRs so much I am making myself crazy. I just have to stop. Lol
oh I am being so sarcastic! I need someone to pull a plug, with the free dining promo we are now even switching dates again to get the right package!! Maybe! I want to be done and have a solid plan but how will I ever be able to stop checking for reservations or coming up with new sequences in my head for how to spend each day. Lol! I need help.

Almost exactly what I was thinking! (Except my mom is a retired RN so she would know when to stop but she wouldn't be happy LOL)
And I have to say that (working in healthcare) that I wish more family (and patients) recognized the need for transitions when appropriate-both for health and safety sake.

Wow I have missed a lot but we started doing talk for our trip in the fall already wanna say it will be either the last 2 weeks in Sept or the first 2 in Oct. but either way can not wait to be back down there for food and wine fest had a blast last year, aka I made it only half way around the world before the 3 shots from Mexico caught up with me

:welcome: back!

Let us know when narrow down the dates of your trip.

:)

Just wanted to say I met Teena yesterday for first time and she is just as lovely and friendly in person as she is on this thread. There could not be a better representative for BC or Disney company. They are lucky to have her. Thank you Teena for checking into my situation. You made my day so much easier.

That is great!!! If you can, when you return home, let Disney know what you liked about your trip, what could have been better and write about anyone who helped make your trip enjoyable.

:goodvibe:

Sooo....
I may have spontaneously booked BC for Dec 17-23 with free dining at 6:3o this morning. And, apparently got one of the last rooms with this deal. What?!! :yay:
I had been planning for spring break 2016, but this deal was too good to pass up. I can get BC with dining for about the same price (or cheaper) than I was predicting a split stay at POR/BC was going to be.

The early (and persistent) bird gets the reservation! Nicely done!

I'll add this trip to the Be Our Guest list.

:woohoo:

Newbie here, we have been to Disney several times;( Poly, AoA, Pop, BLT), so we have never been in the boardwalk area. I finally got thru to Disney today and Yacht Club seemed our best option to utilize our free dining, so I went ahead and booked. It seems like it will be a completely different experience for us, so we are super excited. I am sure I'll have lots of ? As time goes by, but a few to start with... We are a family of 5, kiddos 14, 10, 8. We are definately not athletes...lol. I believe a room view is garden, what kind if view will we get, if we ask to be closest to transportation (and as an add on, is bus transportation on one side of the hotel and boats on other.) question number 2, we got free food, but where to eat...??? We usually eat a QS or snack for breakfast as we head out for early buses; where can eat.

We are going Nov 18-26. As far as breakfast, how far is walk to marketplace? I'll have to run over and bring back stuff, my family doesn't get up as early as I do :) Are there any other places to use quick service credits for breakfast close by? I'll probably go ahead and buy some breakfast times for room. Thanks!

:welcome: to this forum!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1

:cool1:

Two of the popular Garden Room Views at the Yacht club are the wedding gazebo and the back entrance (lakeside) courtyard. The latter rooms overlook the back entrance- great for people watching- and are convenient to the resort lobby/transporation and Stormalong Bay Pool. Yes, bus transportation is on the front entrance side of the resort and the boat dock is accessible from the back entrance.

If you go to the Resorts Photo subforum and look for the thread titled Yacht Club Views you will find some samples of room views by category from guests who have submitted pictures.

I hope you have had a chance to review some of the dining info/menus in Post 7 on Page 1. As others have indicated, there are breakfast offerings at the Ale & Compass in the YC lobby and more selections in the BC Marketplace.

:thumbsup2

Guess who got up early this morning and snagged a BC resort for my exact dates with the RO discount????

Anyone?????

MEEEEEEEE!!!!!!! I am super excited, in case you didn't notice!!!

:banana::banana::banana:

From what I hear, we also have some special guests to add to the BOG for late August. I'll do that as soon as I know that all of the lovely ladies who are going have informed their husbands about the trip. I know there is at least one who needs to break the news. :rolleyes1
