Does anyone know if it is cheaper to get a 1 bedroom villa or 2 standard rooms at YC/BC? I am trying to find what rates will be with no luck. Looking to plan next May and ofcorse everything for this May is booked up so I cannot see what the current rates are to even estimate.

A 1BR Villa at BC in May 2015 is either $686 or $726 per night depending on which week in May.

Two standard rooms at BC or YC will be either $940 or $1024 per night depending on which week in May.

These are rack rates.

I don't think I've posted here, but my family and I will be staying at YC at the end of May . I need to figure out a room request for our garden view room. So excited for SAB and YC! 5 nights, followed by 3 at WL.

I'm so very excited to be officially part of this group now that we have our Dec BC trip planned. Like I said before, I had a two hour wait on the phone this morning. I'm a teacher, so I actually called during my 1st hour plan period, taught two classes with the disney rides music playing on speaker phone, then they answered during my 4th period plan period. Ha!

Anyway, I have to add that even with the craziness that was going on with the phones, the CM that answered was very calm and friendly. So professional. I would have been frazzled! Kudos to him. Actually, I've always had great customer service with the phone system.

They will probably be on the CL floor in October given they won't be starting the refurb until some time in September. If memory serves me correctly it took two to three months for them to finish up the BC CL floor before they moved down to the 4th floor.

Any word yet from anyone at the BCVs on whether construction has started there yet or not?

Just want to make sure you are aware that if you get the 1-bedroom the situation will be:
- only 1 bed (plus a sleeper sofa)
- capacity of 4 people (assumes 2 in the bed and 2 on the sleeper sofa)
- only 1 bathroom

You would get more beds and more bathrooms if you get 2 standard rooms.

The trick to checking prices when everything is booked: look for any day that you can find the room that you want. Then click on SEASONAL PRICING for that type of room. This year for the 1-bedroom villa it's $610 for May 1 to 21. $645 for May 22 to 24 (because of Memorial Day). $610 for May 25 to 28. $590 for the rest of May.

If you want DVC and you are positive of your dates, you can rent points from either a DVC member or from an agency that acts as middle man. There are threads specifically on that. It's cheaper than booking through Disney and paying rack rate, but usually there are no cancellations or changes allowed. Also there is never free dining if you book through a DVC member or middle man.

Just making sure you know that the one bedroom villa only sleeps 4 people ... and EACH standard room at YC/BC can sleep up to 5 in EACH room. Most people compare the 2 bedroom villa to two regular rooms at BC/YC.
