What datesDisneyNannnie, are you able to move your dates? If so, a certain travel agency that has Really good specials, just released two new discounts. but not your dates!
Nannie, I don't know if you are still looking but I FINALLY was able to get one today from Sept 16-Sept 26. It wasn't free dining but it was under the "late summer special". I was so happy to finally get my desired resort!!Was anyone able to get a Beach Resort Garden view room with free dining for the week of September 13 to September 19. I had to upgrade to a pool view but I would really prefer a garden view. Does anyone think these rooms will open up in the future?
I just checked now and there is a GV available under the RO discount on disney's website.I am not sure. I was trying to prove out the difference to see which would be better for me but since there aren't any available I can't price it out. Thank you very much for thinking of me.
Hey everybody! I just found the cutest thing. At buildyourdisneyside.com, you can get a free custom car window decal. Happy decal building!
Does anyone know if it is cheaper to get a 1 bedroom villa or 2 standard rooms at YC/BC? I am trying to find what rates will be with no luck. Looking to plan next May and ofcorse everything for this May is booked up so I cannot see what the current rates are to even estimate.
Oh all right! Add me to the Be Our Guest list! I am staying at the BEACH CLUB from August 29th to the 1st of September. This is a MAGICAL VACATION as I am running away from home and meeting up with a pack of WILD women. ATTENTION CHAIR PIGGIES!! Ninja Mom is coming your way so you had better shape up! Towels will be removed from empty chairs, the furniture will be rearranged and the lost and found will be extremely busy when I am in residence. Consider this fair warning! ; )

I don't think I've posted here, but my family and I will be staying at YC at the end of May . I need to figure out a room request for our garden view room. So excited for SAB and YC! 5 nights, followed by 3 at WL.
Thanks for all of the info in this thread!
we are staying at yacht club- checking in on October 22nd- do you think they will have started their refurbishment by them? we are hoping for a refurbished room ...
Dee - Add me to that BOG list. Ready to go end of August and help clear those chairs of unused towels at SAB!!!
So excited. Stayed up until midnight and got Mine Train for after dinner on our first time at the Cabins. Dinner at BOG and then the Mine Train. Two of Princess Lily's favorites!!!! And Pop-Pop is going too. She is so excited about taking Pop-Pop on the mine train and showing him the Beast's Castle.
Ditto... Please add me to the BOG list for August 29th to the 1st of September for the VERY MAGICAL VACATION! I would love to "get together" with you NM and HockeyMomR!!

Just read about the new fancy laundry rooms? Are these at BC?
Hello everyone! I'm new here. This is my first post ever and I have some questions as a Disney newbie. Hopefully this doesn't shock anyone too badly but I'm 26 and I've never been to Disney. That's finally changing! My girlfriend and I got engaged December 2014 and we are getting married in April 2016. Because of the types of people we are our first (and only) thought for our honeymoon was going to Disney! We decided on that very quickly and the research began. We've bought a bunch of planning books, researched online and asked friends/family for tips. We will be going in April 2016, a day after our wedding. We believe we finally decided what resort to stay in, which brings me here for my questions.
First off, we knew we wanted an Epcot area resort because of the location and night life. We narrowed it down to either the Beach Club or Boardwalk due to recommendations. Then we found out about the Villas and what they have to offer. I know the Villas are a bit more expensive but 1 bedroom villas just seemed more "honeymoon-like". The rooms had more space, the bathrooms were nicer with a larger walk-in shower and the rooms had a whirlpool tub. Comparing pictures of the villas at the Beach Club and Boardwalk we decided that the Beach Club Villas were our #1 pick.
So here come the questions!...
I just found out that they are refurbishing the Beach Club rooms and that this includes the Villas. Is it safe to say that this refurbishing in the villas will be done by April 2016 when we plan to go? It would be pretty darn cool to stay in a very newly refurbished one bedroom villa!
Being a young and "soon" to be newlywed couple we are looking to be semi-careful with our money for our honeymoon. We don't do any extravagant traveling so we feel like we want to make sure our honeymoon is special and exactly how we want it. With that said, the room rates for the Beach Club 1 bedroom villas are pretty darn expensive. I know Disney offers many seasonal discounts. Most likely the time we would be going next year would be during some 30% off room rates spring discount. However, the spring discounts don't usually become available until the end of December. We don't feel comfortable waiting that long and have the chance that a beach club villa one bedroom isn't available for us. So here is a question...If we book our villa earlier and then come December they offer a 30% off spring discount for the dates we would be going, is it possible to call Disney up and get that discount applied for our reservation? I have been reading a lot about people doing that so I was wondering if anyone here had some experience with that.
And lastly....Does anyone have any Disney honeymoon tips/secrets they would like to share?!
Sorry for writing a book! This is just all so exciting.
Thanks!
Hello!!!
Just booked yesterday ;-)
YC Garden View (although phone CM called it Garden/Woods view) w/free dining in Nov!!
I must say, this thread is FANTASTIC! I have learned so much already. I previously knew nothing of YC other than it existed as a someday dream resort for us ;-)
At first, I was thinking that we were more BC people and that I had made a booking mistake. But I see many, many positives for YC.
At the CM's suggestion, I added "close to transportation" as a request on my ressie. My wish is to be central to both the bus stop and boat dock, rather than waaaaaaaay out on one of the wings.Does this sound possible? Or do I need to do a bit more homework?
Also.....I have learned that YC does not have its own dedicated "food court" area. Instead, you must head over to the BC Marketplace? Correct?
Speaking of room requests, if you had to pick ONE request what would it be? Is a Balcony more important? or location? Or bed size?
Just wondered what everyone's favorite area to stay would be?
We will be there May 27-June 28.
We are coming down for Star Wars Weekend and tacked a day on the front and a day on the back. Can't wait!!!!!
So...I'm soooo excited! We had booked a "magical" vacation for 12/30-1/5 at CSR. It was a mostly unplanned trip that resulted from our (DD, DS & my) telling DH how much fun we had last year. DH couldn't go and we stayed at CSR, so we thought that we would stay there again so he could experience Christmas time and a different resort (and save some money on the resort). Well, yesterday DH came home-he got a bonus we weren't planning on! Contacted our "magical" friend and we are now staying at BC! Aren't going to tell the kids. Hoping to sneak the luggage tags on when they aren't looking, but as young adults they don't miss much.
Dee could you please add us to the BOG list for 12/3/20150-1/5/2016. Thanks!
As Dee noted, the Ale and Compass will work for breakfast with the cereal, muffins, juice and coffee they have there unless you need something more. Market Place in the BC lobby is a 5 - 8 minute walk across the back side of the resort. And you have Epcot to pop into if you really need something more or you can walk around the lake to the BW area. It really isn't as bad as some would suggest. As far as location, close to transportation means close to lobby and there are some really excellent GV rooms in that proximity. However, don't discount being a little farther away from the lobby becuase the "secret entrances" (fire escapes) will get you just a few steps away from the boat dock and the walk to the lobby can also be shortened by using these rather than walking the halls. When you are there and make use of them you will see what I mean. If you add "Courtyard view" or "Gazebo view" to your room request you won't regret it. I hope you have a great time.Hello!!! I thought I read you now pay to do laundry with your credit card and now change? But I am not sure
We were all much happier by the time we left for the room, but the biggest surprise was yet to come! Remember that 'nice' room the front-desk clerk was mentioning? Well, it turned out to be a newly renovated TWO-BEDROOM SUITE!!!!! OMG! I'm still thrilled just thinking about it! It was soooo beautiful and such a nice surprise. Honestly, the Beach Club, especially a deluxe room, was a bit of a splurge for us--we usually stay at moderates. This was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience for us.
I took a few pictures--my happy family was making themselves right at home--but I'm not sure how to post them. I'll have to try to figure it out later when I don't have to get ready for work. (Work? Huh? Unfamiliar concept...) I'll also have to share the story of how Neil at the concierge desk saved my butt!!!
This was in my email this morning from the DIS:
"The Walt Disney World resorts have installed high-tech washers and dryers. Guests will be able to check a website to find out if there are open machines in the laundry facilities, as well as receive a notice when one becomes free and when a laundry cycle has finished. Cycles in these machines are shorter than the old machines, and also hold larger items than in the past.
Credit and debit cards can be used for transactions. There are a few coin machines left in some of the facilities at the All-Star Resorts, Art of Animation, Caribbean Beach, Coronado Springs, Fort Wilderness, Grand Floridian, Polynesian and Pop Century.
The changeover will be complete in early May."
If the hyperlink doesn't work, the site was laundryview.com/disneyworld....
That is kind of cool to know when you load is done. Silly question, stay Beach Club Club Level, where would the laundry room be?
