Thanks for the great pictures @thisismyusername ! Love the bathroom area and bedding. I do wish they had kept the dresser where the cabinet with the refrigerator is now. There seems to be a lot less draw space. I have one question, does the new desk have a smaller desk that comes out underneath like the old one? I cant tell from the picture. Thanks!

Hi all,
i will be staying at BCR 12/23-1/2/15 and it looks like there will be minimal interruption other than possible noise for room rehabs. here is the post from Disney:

Disney's Beach Club Resort Guest Room Renovations Guest rooms will be refurbished with new hard and soft goods. Guests will not be accommodated in the affected areas but it is possible that some noise could travel while work is in progress (between 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily). Oct. 13, 2014 - Aug. 22, 2015 Stormalong Bay Pool - Waterslide During this time, the waterslide and the waterway from the slide to the first bridge of Stormalong Bay will be unavailable. The remaining portions of the pool will remain available to Guests. Jan. 5 - Feb. 2, 2015 Stormalong Bay Pool - Lazy River During this time, bridges three and four will be under refurbishment and the lazy river/snorkel area will be closed. The remaining portions of the pool will remain available to Guests.

We leave tomorrow morning for our first BC stay. I am so excited. My kids don't know which resort we'll be at... I can't wait for them to see SAB! They will flip. We are from Michigan, so I'm sure they'll swim. I just want to thank everybody (especially Dee) for all of the questions that you answered no matter how silly and for all of the wonderful information. Teena, I look forward to seeing you at the BC. I hope you don't mind if I say hi. This time tomorrow I'll be eating dinner at Epcot!

Take care!

Warmly,

I look forward to meeting you on Sunday or Monday!!!!!!

Ack!
Just almost made a very costly mistake!
Please verify that I have this right.

Our APs expire tomorrow. We are planning to go in August of 2015, and with the renewal savings, we were going to rebuy APs and go in April 2016 as well....but if I renew now, the 1 year clock starts ticking today, correct? So, in other words, we wouldn't be covered for April 2016.

Drat!
This may null and void that trip.

Do I have this right?

We assumed that when we renewed...our year would begin when we swiped the renewal pass for the first time, i.e., next August.

Scott, sadly your correct. Your renewal starts the day after old one expires.

Ugh, for some reason my edit button isn't working Scott. What I wanted to add is that one August maybe 2013? My AP exp. Mid trip. This was very problematic because not only couldn't I do my FP+ for entire trip, only first part. I was unable to renew on line because I had a 2 day park ticket I had to get with a dining promo to put toward renewal. Also made it complicated because we were going with friends, who are on our MDE as family & friends to sync our FPs.

Long story  but for next renewal I was able to get them to adjust our renewal date a few weeks or AP will always expire mid Aug trip. So now they exp in Sept. I had emsiled customer service about the problem, and someone actually got back to me, who had the authority to adjust renewal date.

I agree. But I do like the new armoire better and it opens up the room a bit more by not having the fridge in such a long cabinet. A design like what they have in the new GF rooms would have probably been best where the fridge is integrated into the armoire and there's still a chest in the hallway.
We thought the drawers in the armoire at GF were teeny tiny. Really shallow. But at least there was the hallway dresser yes! But with only 2 of us in the room we survived :upsidedow

It looked new, but guess it was just repainted or refinished. Thanks for letting me know. :) It was sad, though, to see how much damage was done to those varnished and painted surfaces in just two years. :(

I sure wish that a refurbed garden view room at the BC would open up for the bounce back offer. I would love to stay in one.
The rooms sure do take a beating. Honestly I don't know what people do to create such wear :confused3. When we stayed at POR last January, I noticed they started to look worn, and it wasn't so long ago the rooms were completely gutted and refurbed. We had a room just after Acadian House was finished. Could still smell the paint!!
I'd love to stay in a new BC room too!! Maybe 2016 ;) this August booked into Poly!
I just looked on Allears.net room video just to check as our last WL stay they were just starting the refurb. So I hadn't been in new room. Just saw pics . And yes, same furniture, just re upholstered. I love the headboards, but for all the work they did, you'd think they would have put in new furniture!!a bit disappointing.

What Sue said is correct. I am in the same position but I am letting my AP lapse and then bridging a park hopper ticket that was bought for a trip in February 2015. So I will have a new AP date of Feb 22nd.

My Dad bought the park hopper tickets for the Feb trip so he is essentially paying for a chunk of my AP.

Grrr....well, I'm glad I didn't just make a $1000 mistake, but I'm bummed out. Now to convince Tom to STILL buy an AP in August!

It's Disney day! Going to the office for a few hours and then BC here we come.

Have the best time! Be sure you check out the Christmas decorations at YC, they were my favorite last year....yes, even more than at the GF or WL!
And I dig that groovy Christmas soundtrack at YC and BC....play it in the car all the time!

Now that it's December, we are getting excited for our return to the Yacht Club. The last time we stayed at this resort was in 2000. Our DD's were 3 and 10; now they're 17 and 24!! We're looking forward to NYE in Epcot for the second straight year but this year we can walk home to our room at the YC.

I debated buying Memory Maker early for our August trip (I was told by one CM that it's good for a year from the date of purchase). But I couldn't find confirmation of that on the site and, given the reliability of CM advice when you call reservations, I figured I was better off paying $20 more next year.

I bought Aria a Stitch sleeper. She refused to take it off this morning, so she just went to daycare in it. What the heck - it was 35 degrees and drizzly outside. If I could find an adult version - and it wouldn't come across as completely creepy - I'd have worn one to work.

We arrive @ the Beach Club on 1/29/2015. I am pretty sure the CL room renovations lasted 6 weeks, correct? Just wondering if the 4th floor will be done by the time we arrive in late January? We are really hoping for one of those spiffy rooms!! Any guesses if they will be ready?

Thanks!

Checking in in the morning! When we stayed two months ago, we arrived early in the morning and the CM's asked where we would like our room to be! It was pretty magical and our request of high floor-near the elevator was met…hoping for the same luck tomorrow!
