After two years of not thinking about Disney World, I'm jumping back in... just booked a trip for next month, staying at the Yacht Club. Little bummed (my son is very bummed) to realize the pool will be partially closed, but we're sticking with it. Since I ignored Disney for awhile, they finally sent me a code to lure me back. First one I ever got! I guess absence does make the heart grow fonder... Disney World missed me. ;)

Dee - really getting excited now -thanks for the calendar! Next Tuesday, December 9th, is our actual anniversary, a week from tonight we will be dining at Yachtsman. :goodvibes

Rebecca

I hope you have a great trip!

Thisismyusername - thanks for posting those pics, especially getting us such great close ups of the detail. Love all the pics and the new decor!

Thank you for posting those pictures thisismyusername!!!

I really like the new theming!! Our CL room left a little to be desired in August, this looks great!!! :goodvibes

Thanks for posting all those pictures. The detail is amazing! The new design is very classy looking, a big change from the way it used to look.

I am glad to see that they put some non-wood surfaces on the nightstand, cabinet that has the refrigerator and coffee service, and on the TV stand. That will help to keep the furniture looking nice longer. I had been in a recently remodeled room at the Wilderness Lodger in February 2013 and the rooms looked great with all the new furniture. Unfortunately when we were there this past Oct, just two years after the refurb, some of the wooden furniture surfaces were already ruined by water damage. I'm glad to see that the designers were a little more sensible at the BC. :)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought WL kept the old furniture, just reupholstered chairs & headboards, then put in new flooring, bathroom tile around tub & soft goods - curtains etc.

Thisismyusername great pics!! Rooms look great. But wish they kept the dresser in the alcove where they now have fridge. Was great for extra drawers.

thisismyusername you get an A++ for your picture report. :thumbsup2

Thank you for taking the time to report back to us with this information. We are all dying in anticipation of the new rehab details and you saved us!

Were the bathroom floors made up of tile of was it a vinyl sheet?

They are tile :)

First night here at CL! The size of the lounge and service is outstanding! The selections for dinner was enough for a meal for our group! The new rooms are nice as the you all saw from the pics posted earlier. Here is my contribution from our first day :)

Thanks for the thanks! :flower3: We booked this night with the sole intention of checking out the rehab, so we were just as excited as everyone else to see it--and thank goodness they were on schedule! (Though I think there are still some construction issues being worked out--I know we didn't have heat and there were lots of heating people in the lounge and poking around vents and CMs pointing out little things that needed attention….)

I may be wrong, but I think the flooring in the bathroom is fake wood--thick vinyl. It looks the same as the flooring used in the Boardwalk refurb--actually, both bathrooms at both resorts look pretty similar.

I agree. But I do like the new armoire better and it opens up the room a bit more by not having the fridge in such a long cabinet. A design like what they have in the new GF rooms would have probably been best where the fridge is integrated into the armoire and there's still a chest in the hallway.

It looked new, but guess it was just repainted or refinished. Thanks for letting me know. :) It was sad, though, to see how much damage was done to those varnished and painted surfaces in just two years. :(

I sure wish that a refurbed garden view room at the BC would open up for the bounce back offer. I would love to stay in one.

We are home (sadly) from our Thanksgiving stay, which included our last night at the Beach Club, CL, in the new rooms and refurbished lounge… We were first assigned a room without a daybed, so I have pictures from a two-queen beds room and pictures from a two-queen beds and a daybed room. I'm not sure what's already been posted in other threads, but I know that the new lounge was photographed somewhere here on the Dis when it briefly opened earlier, so I didn't take any pictures in the lounge.

Oh, WOW!!!

Thank you so much for the pictures from the Beach Club concierge floor refurb!!! The close-up detail you provided is fantastic and really gives us all a feel for how beautiful these rooms are.

Would it be ok for me to link these posts to some of the front page sections of this thread (the renovation, Beach Club Room info and Club Level info)?

Thanks again for sharing the photos and your excitement at the results of the renos.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Love the reports and photos from the early part of your stay. We can never have too many photos!!!

Thanks!

Sure. :)

Wow! Thank you thisismyusername for posting the pics! We've all been curious to know what the new rooms look like! Overall I like the room but I loved the old room. I'm a little sad to see my Mickey desk lamp gone but I adore the new framed photo of Mickey and Minnie! The bathroom looks fabulous too, especially the tile in the shower!

Thanks for all of the close-ups, too!

Wow, love the newly remodeled rooms. If it's any indication from the reaction of the family to those photos it looks like we'll be booking our stay for the Beach Club again for next fall soon - is there an anticipated schedule for completing all the floors, knowing it could change obviously?

I wonder what they do with all the all furniture, fixtures, lamps, etc when they remodel the rooms? I know some of the items aren't in the best shape but wouldn't it be great if they had a website where you could purchase those *slightly used* items yourself!?

You guys did a fabulous job taking and posting the pics of the new rooms and lounge! Thanks so much for sharing.

My only disappointment (though I knew it wouldn't happen) is the lack of daybeds in each room. I was holding out a glimmer of hope, but I do understand the room configurations are different. Just wish they could've found a way! It's nearly impossible for us to sleep in just 2 queens anymore....even though we're a family of 4, our kids are older now and we need the daybed. Sadly, we rarely get it even though it's our #1 request:sad1:.

In any event, we are excited to stay at BC again in a "new" room with a new lounge!

Thank you so much for all the fabulous photos, the refurb is stunning, love it. Agree about the storage contraption on the bedside table though lol

All the info we have about the renovation is in the very first post of this thread. Based on estimates I have seen posted, my best guess is that the Beach Club refurb will take around 10 months to a year, so possibly complete by next fall.

That would be great if the surplus furniture and other décor was offered for purchase by the general public, but I have never seen anything like that.

I think some of the things may end up someplace where Disney employees can purchase the items, but I'm not sure.

:)

Have you seen information about the daybeds? I haven't heard any news about whether the sleeping configurations have changed, but I think that in some of the rooms where it is possible to add a daybed or sleeper chair, that may be happening. I hope so. I travel with my two teenage boys and they don't like to sleep in the same bed, so I know what you are talking about!
