DH is coming around to the “more points are better” viewpoint I’ve been throwing at him for a couple of years now. 😜 I don’t think he’s quite ready to give in to more magic, but the “sell because dues are out” crowd might give me some deals to tempt him with. Where should we buy next given the following factors:

1) Will be resale (unless a fire sale comes along)
2) probably another 150 pts
3) pt charts matter to me - I like my pts to translate into longer stays
4) studios are fine for short trips, but 1 bedrooms preferred
5) split stays will never work (dh hates the idea)
6) already own at AKL
7) we like Epcot and its festivals the best
8) not every stay will include park visits
9) I’m not sure I can talk him into a 2042 resort.

I think those are the major factors for consideration… Any opinions?

Sort of a conundrum. I’d buy something like BLT or CCV and then try to book where you want to stay at 7 months. Or buy at PVB and try to get in somewhere with lower 1 br point charts at 7 months, and stay at PVB resort view for studios, taking the monorail to Epcot from the TTC. Then you could also waitlist a stay at a Crescent Lake resort.

Or just buy SSR and call it a day. It is the most affordable overall.

Well going from a studio to a 1 bedroom will use about twice the amount of points for the same length of stay. So probably need to get 300 points or more.

I was leaning toward CCV, but I wonder if the “vibe” is too similar to where we already own. BLT would definitely be a change. 😜

I’m on board, but dh would shut that down quickly. 😂 The march toward the comma club will be sloooowwww.

I would second CCV. We own there and our DS owns at AKV. While there are similarities there are enough differences to make it feel like a seperate experience. Plus their point charts are much better than Poly and VGF.

If he can be swayed with saving money, SSR. Low dues, so cheap compared to other resorts, points used for longer stays and to upgrade to one bedrooms. The only thing is you dont like split stays, so that would def be out.

I dont think any resort fully fits all your wishes. BCV and BWV would have been perfect if you could convince him to buy a 2042.

If split stays are a no, id go with blt, you can take the monorail to epcot and the rooms without views point chart are reasonable. If you can convince him to own a 2042, bwv and bcv check all your boxes. Id love either of these two for resort stays and they have low point charts and longer stays.

I am like you, epcot is my favorite tp and the festivals, but 2042 expiration doesnt meet our travel goals sadly. Id buy bwv in a heartbeat if it had a longer expiration. We went akv and blt. SSR for the longer stays and 1 bedrooms, but we love split stays.

Maybe go the route of 2042 and tell him its ending sooner than later, so convince him that its better because youll only have to pay dues for another 16 years and then youre free.

Without 2042 resorts in play it'll be tough to think about an Epcot area resort. I wouldn't recommend Riviera resale unless you truly love the resort because as I'm sure you know, you can only use those points there.

Honestly if you plan to book mostly 1 bedroom villas it really doesn't matter where you own, those are fairly available at 7 months year-round. You could think about more AKV if you really like that resort. But I get it if you want something different for your second contract as well. It's nice to have that 11 month priority window, even if you don't really need it for a 1 bedroom.
