View wish granted. Can't seem to post pics but I can see he tip of SAB and the lagoon from my room.

Hi everyone! I am excited to say we have booked our very first Beach Club stay from 4/19-4/27! We are celebrating our 13th anniversary and letting our 3 kids ds9,dd7,and dd5 join us. I have spent the afternoon reading this thread and picked up some great tips, thanks to everyone who has posted them. I am super excited and can't wait for April to come, our kids have no idea we are going! I am sure I will be asking a few questions between now and then, so thanks in advance to anyone who answers them.

We are home!

It was a great stay. I was upset with the smoking at first, but we never had another incident.

I mentioned about Martin from Room Service.. He was so great. my 16 yo DD likes Earl Grey. So I ordered a pot of coffee for DH and I and tea for her. I have found that it is worth the money for a pot of coffee and cream when staying in the World. The coffee pods are ok, but just not great for coffee addicts like us... Anyway, Martin arrives, spreads out the table cloth, accent napkin sets everything up and then explains the tea service to DD. He brought an orchid and told her how to place it in the cup and poor the hot water on it (it was an edible orchid) because the fragrence mixes with the cardamom and then lace the top with honey. He had a tea pocket and explained why and how British officers carried them. It was a 20 minute chat we had with him. He has been to butler school, sent to India to learn tea service. he also got a nice tip on top of the 18% because he was just so great to take the time to explain that to a teenager who loves her tea.
he might be her new favorite CM over Richard at the Grand!

ETA- Martin also brought us heated mugs and extra cream for our coffee in case we wanted more for the pod maker.

We ordered coffee and tea again this morning and while we had a nice server and the table cloth again, no heated cups and just tea packets placed on a dish.

Ok.. I will write more tomorrow. I am tired and need to get to bed!

Have a great night.. As much as I love YC and Disney, I missed my big bed!

We stopped at the Beach Club lobby tonight and had a great visit with Teena. She is always fun to talk to. :). We also had time to roast a couple of marshmallows over the campfire before dinner at Cape May. The weather has been fantastic, low humidity, lots of sun, not too hot during the day and a little cool at night. We hoping to bounce back to the BC in April..:)

So what a way to end our fabulous trip...

We literally just walked thru the door when we should have been home two hours ago. Let's see...

Magical express was late picking us up and by the time we got to the airport we had an hour before boarding...ok, not an issue. We go thru security but somehow managed to take the tram to the wrong terminal...yup, we did. Soooo, we hop on the tram again, go back thru security and made it 15 min before boarding. Highlight? We see NinjaMom waiting for her flight and we get to chat for a few minutes :).

We board plane, find our seats, DH decides for the first time that he wanted an aisle seat so I sat in the middle. Plane is full and one of the last passengers takes the window right by me. The plane hasn't even left the ground and. I'm pretty sure I have a terrorist sitting next to me. Plane takes off, we're not even in the air 15 min, and said passenger starts acting strange and keeps hitting my leg with his and appears to be real agitated. I'm starting to get weirded out, DH switches seats with me. DH asked if he was ok, this guy says he speaks a few languages and proceeds to make very scary comments in Portuguese and is getting very loud.

Needless to say, I end up in the back of the plane with flight attendants, I get to speak to the pilot, the plane nearly gets diverted all while DH is trying to calm the guy down which he did manage to do, thank GOD!!

We land in Providence much earlier than expected (pilot was on super speed) and we all get met at the gate by the police. Passenger gets taken away and we are left to make statements.

You really can't make this stuff up...Thank GOD we made it in one piece...scary, scary stuff :scared1:

:faint: yikes how scary for you. Air travel the past few years has been scary. I never used to give a thought as to who was on the plane, now I look at everyone. :crazy2: I'm kinda surprised they didn't land at the nearest airport.
Glad you got home safely.

Resort view pics love everyone's pics, and totally envious. Sounds like the weather has been perfect! August was roasting!! Hottest August in 10 yrs.

CL champagne? is this something new??? I've stsyed CL 3 times, most lately in August at GF! Not once was I offered anything at check in :confused3 hmmm.

OMG That's nuts! I don't know if I could have been as calm as you and your DH! Thankful you got home safe and sound!

Speculating question here. On the Disney site some CL Garden and pool view rooms are listed as having 2 queens and a day bed. Does anyone think it might be possible that with the renovations they might allow families of 5+ to use those rooms?

I really do not want standard view - our next trip is a major celebration and a dream trip. It'll be 2 weeks, and lots of time in the room. But I want to be the same level as the lounge. So don't really want a deluxe suite that still only has 2 queens and a daybed.

We'll (hopefully) be traveling with 2 other families. Another one that's 5+ and one that's 2+. Our 2+ friends will be on the 5th floor, and it'd be great if us and the other family could as well. Otherwise I'd guess we'd try to request nth of us on the 4th floor instead, to be closer. But it's not quite what we hoped for.

Thoughts?

I've never been offered this either. I check-in on Sun. Nov. 2 so maybe I'll find out then! lol

I honestly haven't heard if the renovations will include the addition of more daybeds in the rooms or not. I know that the room configurations in some rooms are different from others and some rooms probably couldn't fit daybeds. That won't change with the work they are doing.

There are currently LIMITED CL rooms with a GV or WV and a daybed. I know out of 9 BC CL GV rooms there is only one, so they do not book families of 5 in this category. If more than 1 party of 5 booked this category at the same time, it would be impossible to give both the room that was booked.

:)

Fairly new (June 2014)- here is the info from the Concierge Post on Page 1 (Post 12):

Concierge Check-In Service:

Club Level guests should be welcomed by name as they enter the resort, and will be escorted to the 5th floor for check-in. If you are not immediately greeted upon arrival, tell one of the CMs when you have arrived that you staying in a concierge room, and they should be able to help you.

Captain's Strawberry Sparkler- House Champagne with strawberry flavoring. Welcome drink offered to (adult) guests only at check in (starting June 2014)

Thank you Catho72 for the photo!

The welcome drink is something they recently started at the Y&B for club level guests. Everybody checking in should be offered the drink and there is a non-alcoholic drink for the younger set. If you check in and are not offered the drink (for whatever reason), just ask for it. You can always say, "I heard you now offer a welcome toast???"

We were able to book a room only bounce back for April but we could only get it for the YC. We had hoped to return to the BC but they only had club level rooms available for our dates. So, Dee, please add us to the BOG list, YC GV - April 15 - 21, 2015. :)

We arrived yesterday and had a great experience. We landed 30 minutes early, but it took about 2 hours from touch down (not arriving at the gate) to leave MCO on ME. We had to wait for the second bus and then wait for that bus to fill. We were the 3rd stop and arrived about 2 PM. We were met at the DME bus by CM Jeanine and greeted and brought directly to the BCV. Our Villa was ready. There is a Concierge Desk in the Villa lobby from 9 AM to 4 PM. I don't know how long that has been there or how long it will be here.
We had a great CM experience too. I had had some medical equipment I needed shipped and it was at the YC Convention Center. My DH went to pick it up about 2:30 and they close at 1 PM on Sundays. He found someone in the Center and explained it was medical equipment and she found CM Peggy, a weekend manager at the Convention Center. She was wonderful and went out of her way to find our box, and she brought it directly to our Villa for us. She wouldn't accept a tip and overall she was wonderful.
We had a great afternoon and evening at Epcot at the F & W festival. We had dinner at Biergarden and enjoyed it very much.
Today is beautiful. It is warm and dry and not a cloud in the beautiful blue sky. It is our full day at Epcot. We were out early for an early FP + for Soarin'
We're back in the room for a bit before we head back to Epcot for dinner at Via Napoli.
I stopped by and saw Teena briefly. As always she is in great demand and I didn't want to take her away from other guests.

I believe the only reason the pilot did not divert the plane was because the passenger, while making scary comments, hadn't made any direct threat to the plane and passengers plus DH kept talking to him and trying to keep him calm so other passengers wouldn't get wind as to what was really going on. This was beyond nuts and like something out of a movie and I hope to NEVER go thru something like that again!

We felt the same as you...we were at GF in August and it was much hotter than past Augusts for sure.

I, too, was surprised we were offered the champagne on this recent trip at the YC CL.

It was hard to stay calm when I was literally freaking out inside but I have to give kudos to this one particular flight attendant who helped me keep it together even when I had to speak to the pilot to inform him of what was going on.

I also don't know how my DH managed to keep it so together talking to this guy for as long as he did because this person was beyond scary and crazy and the things he was saying was not something one wants to hear anywhere especially when you're on a plane in the air :scared1:!

Glad you were able to take advantage of the BB offer as well :)

After a lovely stay in a 2 bedroom villa at BCV just 3 1/2 weeks ago the family and I have decided to do our longest trip to WDW yet so far. 14 nights! So excited!!!! We were planning on a Lion King suite at AOA but the cost took me back a bit. So then we figured we all love each other for now so we'll try Coronado for a lot less. Less room but oh well.

Then I was like "BUMP THIS"!!! So now we are booked for 8 nights in a studio at BCV and 6 nights in a 1 bedroom at BCV. Hahahahaha!! DH wanted to keep it a surprise for the kids but couldn't keep it in and he spilled the beans. I didn't get a word in. They were so excited so I forgave him for not letting me spill the beans. :)

May 30th 2015 cannot come soon enough (though I am looking forward to our AKL club level stay for the marathon in January). June 13th 2015 can come very very slowly. :)

Just back from Disney. Didn't stay at Yacht or Beach Club this time but I did make a point of visiting and walking the lake around the resorts & Boardwalk. Went for a fantastic dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse before catching some of the fireworks at Epcot (and getting a few treats at the Bakery @ Boardwalk to take back for a midnight snack). Was great to see the resort I'm staying at next this coming April. Didn't get any pictures (I'm a lousy photographer). Next time I'll have to get someone to take a couple for me.

I'm coming out of hiding... I think I can handle reading Y/BC thread now! I missed being here!

Oh yea.. I booked a trip today!! Can't wait for the next 97 days to pass by!!
