2013 Rack Rates? When will they announce?

On April 25th I called the main reservation line and booked 2 standard,Little Mermaid rooms at the Art of Animation resort for Jan 10-15/2013. I paid rack rate but hoping for some kind of discount!!!

Not sure if this matters but I calculated 180 days prior to January 1 2013 and came up with July 5. So for making ADRs that would be the 180 day mark. I suppose package rates would have to be releases by then?

It would be nice if they did it that way but normally it is in August when they release them (last year they did do it in June). I wish they would release them now

That's right. Last year they announced rates for 2012 on June 10th. I am hoping for any day now because we want to book a moderate room only reservation in February. My Disney specialist TA has me on her list and will be on the phone to WDW for me and her other clients on the first day bookings can be made under the 2013 rates. I'm happy it will be her waiting on hold and not me.

I called a couple of days ago about a room at Pop the last week in March, 2013 and she quoted me a price of $190.00 a night. I thought that was extremely high even for the week before Easter? Anyone know if the price will drop? There is no way we could go for 7 nights at that rate.

I know, isn't that crazy? Doesn't sound "value" to me. Unfortunately, I think that will be the price or maybe just $5.00 or so less a night because Easter is considered Peak Season and is just as expensive as going at Xmas, which is the most expensive time to go. We want to go that week in March too, but it might be cost prohibiitive, might wait until summer when it's somewhat cheaper.

Oh I hope they are not that high for Value, we are looking at going in May or October 2013. Where looking at Pop but that would make Dolphin sound like a better deal with the parking fees and resort fees added to the cost.

I really, really wish they would just publish 2013 rates; sure would make planning much easier.

When I spoke with the CM on the 7th, I was given a room only price quote of around $2,100 for the dates of May 22nd to June 1st. That would make the rooms at the CBR (standard) about $200 per night which is higher than we've ever paid.

We are going to go a different time for sure! We are working around a college sophomore's schedule and looking to avoid summer. The other times I have checked, Oct, 2012 and 1st week in Jan, 2013, have both been cheaper at Pop. I guess I should be happy that we are going sooner than March and at a better rate.

Current specials on the Disney site expire on 6/14/2012. Perhaps they will send out the next wave of specials soon! Looking to book something for January 9 - 19, 2013 so our 180 day mark is fast approaching too!

I had an online chat with a castmember this afternoon and asked about the release of 2013 rates. She said that the 2013 room rates had already been established and that the quotes that would be given for room only reservations over the phone would be the correct rate. She also said that the ticket prices had already increased (which I already knew). She said that there had been no word yet on whether or not the dining package rates would go up and that is why the package prices were not released yet. They have been told to tell guests that they expect the 2013 package prices to go public during the "later part of August" but when I questioned her a bit further she did say that it could be earlier.

Of course they are going to increase the price of dining. I just wish they would do it already so we can start booking. Good grief lol.
My adrs are in August. I am keeping my fingers crossed that they are out way before that. I dont want to have to make an adr each day, I want to do them all at once. I would think they would get the hint when people are asking to book packages. I mean, 2013 really isnt that far off for people to start planning. Esp when it comes to a WDW trip.
Honestly going the entire month of July is going to drive me bananas!!!
anytime I guess is the real answer... have your $200 ready!!!

I definitely think they lose out on customers by taking this long. Less than 6 months to plan a vacation doesn't work for a lot of people, especially with work and school schedules. So if I can't make plans for January or February right now and I want to plan a vacation right now, maybe I'll go with a cruise instead so I can set my plans and be done with it.

For us we would like to know exactly how much this trip is giong to cost. I mean I can play around with the website guessing which time frame will be similar, and add it up myself.... but I want an exact $ amount from WDW.
If they did it early last year early, then why not this year.

I'm looking to go around the first week of January (may push back to later if FD comes out) and really hope that packages are announced before it would be time to book ADRs. Can you get the 180 + 10 days on the ADRs if you have a room only reservation?

Thats marathon weekend. I called Run Disney and was able to book everything for that weekend at Pop and I booked a few months ago.

I remember back in the day when it was suggested to book the Poly or Contemporary 2 - 3 years in advance! I also booked the Luau (now Spirit of Aloha) 2 years in advance too!

Totally agree with you, plus I like to book adrs depending on where I stay!
